The grounds of the hotel are peaceful but...
The grounds of the hotel are peaceful and stunning, unfortunately our service inside the hotel did not measure up. We made a reservation for two rooms, two people, three nights through Booking.com. On our arrival we were told the rooms had been booked for one person per room and that we needed to pay an additional$50 per night. I don't know if it was our mistake or Booking.com's, but we agreed to the price difference. When we got to our rooms they were extremely hot. We went back and talked to the front desk. They provided small fans and told us to open the windows, which only opened 2-3 inches. One room on arrival had no hot water and very low water pressure, this also was reported to the front desk. After a very long day of travel from Ireland this group of two couple in their 70's went to the bar for a glass of wine. There were two wedding parties there so it was impossible to get service at all. We waited quite a while before realizing it wasn't going to hapoen. We all had a sleepless night because the rooms never cooled down. In the morning we decided to not stay the full three days because it was too uncomfortable. I spoke with the morning manager on August 29th and explained our situation to him. He apologized and was concerned but did not not say we weren't entitled to a refund for the two nights we did not stay (everything had been paid in advance). We left the hotel assuming everything was fine and booked new accommodations. After emails to the hotel and Booking.com we finally learned our refund had been denied. We had very valid and right reasons for leaving early and are disappointed in the very unfair outcome.
