These suck

These suck. Propane freezes. Start button never worked. Pull start takes over 20 minutes and always has to flood first. Insert many colorful metaphors because these bloody well suck balls. Been fighting it for 4 years now.

The website was well laid-out with clear photos, videos, specs, and ease of purhase

The website was well laid-out with clear photos, videos, specs, and ease of purchase. I was able to make my decision to buy one of the Tri-Fuel Inverter Generators and purchase it online. I received it within the 7-10 days of shipping and the product arrived exactly as expected. I have had it connected and up and running. I love this quiet and powerful new inverter generator!

Be cautious about positive reviews posted about DuroMax

After reading numerous positive reviews about the DuroMax XP7000IH, I decided to purchase one. This is a dual fuel inverter unit. Seemed easy enough...ordered it through Amazon...first mistake. The thing shows up and it looks like it was severely manhandled. Called Amazon and they said..."Not our problem-call Duromax" Finally got through to DuroMax who sent a few parts missing from the damaged shipping box and was told to uncrate it and use it-as there may be nothing wrong.
Fast forward all went well and the new unit ran like a charm. Exercised it each month since March 1 and on June 1 I start the thing and it's running really rough. Finally smooths out and begins to surge while running both on gasoline and propane. Rach out to Customer Service and I am now involved in a seemingly endless email loop with folks who apparently have no knowledge of this product or authority to direct a resolution. We'll see...but so far this hasn't been any fun...all for $1,906.00.

Subpar customer service and warranty

Subpar customer service and warranty experience.

I have a fairly expensive inverter generator that had the electric starter system and screen stop working during a prolonged power outage after a major hurricane. After grid power was restored, I reached out to DuroMax to figure out what the issue was and how to get it fixed.

The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was helpful, but he didn't know what was going on and had to ask a senior member about how to fix it.

They sent me a list of places to take it for repair, all of which are an hour away from me and would require me to rent a trailer just to transport the 237 generator to.

I did further testing with a multimeter and tried to reach out to DuroMax to give them the results of this testing to see if it would change the need to transport it. The same issue as before happened where the person answering the phone had to ask someone, except this time there was no one to ask. They told me someone would call me back, which they never did. I called them back and was again told someone would reach out, and they never did.

You can offer as long of a warranty as you want if you never honor it or make it a complete pain to deal with.

BUYERS BEWARE - Check the DOM sticker on the machine before you assemble!!

I purchased a "BRAND NEW" generator. They shipped a unit that was sitting in some warehouse with no oil in the engine for 2-1/2 YEARS! Date of manufacture said March 2022. When I called the Customer Service guy was rude as hell, and tried to argue this with me, and then said the is a 20 or 30% restock fee. I said what the hell is it, 20 or 30%. The guy hung up on me! BUYERS BEWARE, this company has no integrity, and they will dump old equipment on you and not disclose the information. Contacting BBB and Attorney General in their state!

UPDATE: August 31, 2024

The Director of Customer Service reached out and offered to refund all my money if I returned the generator and he would pay the return freight costs. Changed my rating to a 3, because the process of getting a positive outcome was not easy, and I am a homeowner and returning this generator was very difficult as I had already assembled the unit so it was not going back in the box, but they wanted all packaging contents and parts. I had to find a good pallet, but appropriate strapping materials to secure everything to the pallet, then fill out paperwork and schedule the pickup and be home when the driver came, because it's not like I could just leave it sitting outside. I had to get help dragging it to the street because the drivers pallet jack could not get up the driveway. They refunded everything but the taxes, so I had to email them about that, then the director processed the refund for the taxes a few days later.
