Loyal customer of 13 years no more

Was a customer of theirs for 13 years. Sent numerous emails about several complaints and questions. Heard nothing back. They are busy expanding, but they can't hold onto loyal customers. This is the first year, I'll be looking at other airlines.

Amazing service and team

Hi Dearest Etihad Team
I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the amazing staff of the EY 17 flight from Abu Dhabi to London on the 14th July 2024....I frequently travel on multiple airlines but I have never seen this kind of consistent stellar service in any other flight and would like to sincerely appreciate the entire staff of the airlines...A huge shout out to Catherine, Oksana, Valeria and Hilmi for making me so so comfortable and being so so approachable and attending to every single requirement of mine with a huge and beautiful smile and utmost sincerity ...I am indeed very grateful to each of them for their amazingness and being such lovely professionals and above that for being wonderful Human Beings....Thank you team Etihad and looking forward to flying with you guys very soon...with lots of love and regards Deepak Divakaran...

Zero Customer service

No answer from them when we have a problem, website complaints form not working, after they lost our luggage it took 13 days for us to get it to destination and still today they haven't given any compensation for it. I wasn't expecting such a bad customer service from a supposed high class airline

My second time travelling with Etihad…

My second time travelling with Etihad airways at first I thought great airline had no problems until my flight in May to Abu Dhabi Dinner was served and I practically swallowed hair about 12 inches long I was choking My husband had to help me we got hold of it pulled it out I could feel it coming up my throat not a nice experience.
I beckoned the crew member over showed her the hair.
She bought another meal over to which I could not eat it. Anyway cut it short sent a complaint got a complaint number and have heard nothing since. This is disgusting.

Abu Dhabi Stopover is a scam

Worst service ever from their contact center. Their system did not generate the necessary vouchers and now they refuse to honor me with a Stopover hotel which i had booked. I spent 2 weeks folowing up every 48 hours only for a maanger to say I must submit feedback and that they cannot do anything to resolve the issue. I am still trying to contact some senior managers or someone that can actually resolve the issue. I cannot beleive that Etihad is making an issue on their system a problem for the Customer.

Worst Airline with the worst Customer Service in the World……

This airline is unequivocally the worst I have ever encountered. When booking my flight from AUH to JFK, a staggering sum of 4145 AED was deducted from my Etihad Credit Account, yet my booking was not processed. Despite contacting their customer service over 10 times in the past six days—each time having to re-explain my situation to a new agent—there has been no progress regarding my refund. Calls were often placed on hold for over 15 minutes, ignoring my time constraints, which is both unacceptable and infuriating. Moreover, my numerous emails to the Etihad Credit team have gone unanswered. Each time I called their call center, I was told that my issue was beyond their control and that I needed to contact the Credit team, which can only be reached via email. Etihad, if you see this, be informed that I am preparing to file a significant lawsuit against you in the UAE to ensure your company ceases operations. You have defrauded me, just as you have many other dissatisfied customers.

Etihad Airwarys - HOW TO SPOIL A HOLIDAY IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT

WE made the unfortunate mistake of booking a flight with Etihad Airways and it’s no one that we will ever make again. We were supposed to travel from London Heathrow Terminal 4 on 03/04/24 to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi. Our flight at 21.55 pulled away from the bridge but had to return around an hour later due to technical reasons. We had to stay overnight in a hotel provided by the airline but having been at the airport from 18.00 hrs we were offered no food or drink and the hotel said they could not provide any either. We returned to the airport for another flight at 07.30 04/04/24 (the next day) for a 10.30 am flight but this flight was delayed until 14.50. The flight arrived in Abu Dhabi around 00.51 (05/04/24) and from there we got told we had a 10-hour stopover so they took us to a hotel which we arrived at 03.30. We had to be at reception for 07.30 to return to the airport for a 10.25 flight. This flight was then delayed until 13.00 and we eventually arrived in Thailand at 00.06 on 06/04/24. We missed our Thai VietJet flight to Phuket on 05/04/24 and could not get another flight due to it being Thai New Year and everything was fully booked. I lost out on my Bangkok airport hotel and taxi to it from the airport on 04/04/24 Phuket hotel, My Phuket Hotel for 5 nights, car hire for our stay and extra car hire insurance as a top up to the included car hire insurance. I couldn’t cancel any of these items because the cancellation date had passed by the time we found out we were not going to be there. The whole holiday was a total disaster and Etihad airways are solely responsible for ruining our holiday. The response to our claim has been to just ignore us and they just don’t care at all. We fly this route every year often twice a year and have used many different Airlines including Qatar and Emirates, BA, Thai, and EVA to name a few and never had this trouble. Disgraceful treatment by an airline but now you know what to expect if things go wrong. THE PLANES ARE ALWAYS DELAYED AND WHEN THEY ARE... YOUR IN TROUBLE AND DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR THE COMPENSATION UK AND EU LAW SAYS YOU ARE ENTITLED TO AS THEY DON'T CARE. £560 PER PERSON FOR DELAYS OVER 3 HOURS IS THE LAW. PLUS ALL OUR OTHER LOSSES TOO.

Update: They have paid something but nowhere near enough to cover my loses

Stay away from Etihad Airways

Very bad customer service. No help to get at all, and they don't reply. They promise to return with assistance, and I never hear from the company. Same story for two months now. Clearly they want to earn money on you as a customer, but when you need help they are nowhere to be seen or heard from.

No refund policy for Serious illness

My partner and I have booked flights costing 1700EUR. I have just been diagnosed with a very serious illness and we will not be able to travel. We need to cancel the flight (not change the flight due to the illness). The Etihad customer service have said they will not refund the fare. We are due to fly in 7 weeks time.
Extremely disappointed with what is supposed to be a very reputable airline. From this experience, I know that even a lowcost airline will give me a refund.

Bad experience

On 15th January I Mamta Manger, along with my aged disabled Mother aged and daughter Swapna Chettri was travelling from Brussels International Airport Brussels, Belgium to New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport India through Abu Dhabi International. In Brussels Airport, we three women underwent absolute terrible harassment in the hands of the Ground Staff of ETHIHAD AIRWAYS, and i have decided not to ever travel anymore by ETHIHAD AIRWAYS and seek necessary compensation for the trauma and harassment that my daughter, aged Mother and myself had to undergo at the check in counter of ETIHAD AIRWAYS Brussels International Airport. Firstly, the wheelchair that one needed ( previously informed) for my disabled mother was not provided for the simple reason that I was left severely and continuously arguing with the Ground Staff for my cabin baggage. I am made to understand that the Cabin Baggage limitation for ETHIHAD AIRWAYS is 7 kgs. What was infuriating and extremely harrowing and severely traumatic was our ladies handbags were too weighed and I was forced to pay 350 Euros ( receipt embedded which is in my daughter's name ). I have been an avid traveller, travelling Internationally over years. Never has in the history of my travelling a Ladies hand bag being weighed. I tried desperately to make the ground staff see reason but it was fruitless and frustrating. Meanwhile it was time to board the Aircraft. Taking advantage of the situation, the Staff refused to let us board unless I paid 350 Euros as weight of my handbag. The whole episode was extremely traumatic for my aged Mother, my daughter and me. Left with no options I was buldozed into paying 350 Euros for the handbags. As no Wheelchair was also provided for my Mother i had to literally drag her to the Aircraft.
I thereby seek compensation and shall be projecting my acute and severe harassment details in my Twitter account.
This is for your information and immediate action to look into the matter and provide all necessary compensation at the earliest.

Complaint id 2402224061682.
I tried to book a ticket for my wife in Etihad and the money was deducted but I didnt get the ticket.
I was asked to wait and its been 2.5 months now and still I havent got the money back.
I made an iDEAL payment on Jan 24 th 2024.
I have attached the transaction details.
Also confirmed with ABN AMRO that the money has gone to recipient (Etihad) as its an iDEAL payment method.
Tired of talking to get the money back.
They have now closed the complaint easily.
First they say money will be back soon. Then they say its refunded but got stuck.
Now they say they havent got any money. All nonsense.

Shocking service!

Disgraceful service! AVOID THIS COMPANY! I will be taking legal action as I am so shocked by the service and incompetence and mistakes they have made! They charged £270 for extra weight even though the extra weight was already paid weeks before! Etihad and also the booking agency Flightcatchers confirmed this and acknowledged they have made a mistake yet they are not refunding the £270! I have noticed the very poor reviews and I am not surprised! This is a CORRUPT COMPANY, AVOID!!!

Not suitable for families

Please do not travel with them if you are travelling while being pregnant or with children.

A complete refusal to provide any assistance and no seating option available without fee for pregnant ladies or people with special needs.

A very disappointing expereince. Even Ryanair is more friendlier than Etihad

NO RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS.

I would strongly advise everyone who has had bad experience to write to CAA as these shysters don’t have any accountability, or ADR.
Also complete a county court small claim to teach them a lesson.
They should not have any access to UK airspace.
They should be fined heavily by the CAA and passengers refunded by the CAA out of the fines.
Shockingly abysmal service when things go wrong, and they DO GO WRONG!
Abysmal human rights abuse of passengers, frustration and inconvenience not recognised by these abusers.
Even the supervisor is an ignorant moron, ignores customers Nick the 💩
I would never fly with them again . Not recommended.

You have to be very lucky to have a…

You have to be very lucky to have a good experience with this airline, especially if something goes wrong. I bought a ticket with extra leg space for an additional $76, but during boarding I found out that the aircraft type had been changed and I was seated in a standard seat. I have been trying to recover the money paid for 3 months to no avail. feedback, emails - social. - phones - nothing works. they will always tell you straight away that they are already dealing with your case - according to their own regulations, they have a maximum of 28 days to do so. but it doesn't matter - no action from them. They're counting on you to give up on your own and leave them alone. In my opinion, this is just a scam. avoid this airline if you can. Compared to them, low-cost airlines are exclusive.

Avoid this company.

I thought this company was one of the world leaders in airlines, I now believe them to be one of the worst. Charged me twice for one of the legs seats. Customer service centre could hardly speak English and didn't seem to know how the online booking system worked. She told me they have a problem with the booking system and it would be fixed in a few days. And seeing a compete lack of response's to the complaint's on here they don't also seem bothered. Avoid them at all cost.

Etihad Airlines: A Disappointing Disruption to Travel Plans

My experience with Etihad Airlines has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Less than three weeks before my scheduled departure, I received a notification that my flight schedule had been changed without any reasonable explanation. To make matters worse, despite the abundance of available seats shown on their website, the airline has failed to provide me with any alternative schedule.

This lack of consideration and communication is unacceptable. As a loyal customer, I expect better treatment and service from an airline of Etihad's supposed caliber. Changing flight schedules at such short notice disrupts not only my travel plans but also causes unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

Furthermore, the fact that there are plenty of seats available on their website, yet I am unable to secure an alternative flight arrangement, reflects poorly on Etihad's customer service and their commitment to passenger satisfaction. It appears that their priority lies more in maximizing profits rather than prioritizing the needs and comfort of their customers.

I urge anyone considering booking with Etihad Airlines to think twice. Their disregard for their customers' time and convenience is evident, and it's clear that they lack the basic courtesy and professionalism expected from a reputable airline. Save yourself the headache and choose an airline that values its customers and respects their travel plans.
