College of Wizardry

The present for my 18th birthday was a LARP event at the College of Wizardry (CoW 10) and to be honest, I was really unsure. Before it began I was excited, but I doubted that it was something for me. In the end it was one of the most amazing experiences I have made in my life. I know it sounds exaggerated but it's true. The whole event is so utterly well made, the atmosphere was truly magical and it's kind of hard to put into words but it's just overall so good. I would do it anytime again if I had the time and money.
I would recommend giving it a shot, you just have to be open for it. Even if you don't really have an idea about what is expecting you or are unsure about it - in my experience it was absolutely worth it.

What an amazing time! I had so much fun playing in the world of wizards. I felt like I was stepping into an alternate reality, and building on a fiction that I love. The castle was awesome and the people were super fun. I would totally go again, if I could!

College of Wizardry

This was my first LARP and I had no idea what to expect^^ In the end I was blown away by how real this whole experience felt and made a lot of new friends. For a few days, you become immersed in a whole different world. You join a house, learn magic, duel, explore the secret stairways of Czocha castle past the curfew, join in epic adventures and everyday school drama. I can wholeheartly say, that the College of Wizardry was one of the best experiences I have ever had :)

College of Wizardry

When I participated in the College of Wizardry LARP I had no idea what to expect. It was my first ever LARP and I thought it would be so difficult to do but in all honesty the people there whether they be participants themselves or supporting characters made me feel right at home, the castle blew my mind (I had never been to Poland), the food was amazing and I feel that I have made some great friends and I would not hesitate to take part again. I think this is an experience everyone should have!

College Of Wizardry May 2017

It's difficult to underestimate this fantastic event. Of course, as a child I used to believe in magic and wanted to study wizardry, but it seemed to be even less possible than meeting Voldemort walking a dog in the nearest park.
However, my views on magic changed dramatically when I was awarded a ticket to this larp. I've played several larps before, so I could more or less predict what sort of experience it might be, but the reality exceeded all my greates and darest expectations.
We spend some days living in a real castle where everything seemed to stream magic. It was incredibly thrilling for compete with other schools of wizardry for the sake of being the best out of three prominent and world-famous educational establishments. I found myself 100% captivated by this spirit which made my experience in the castle truly unforgettable.
So would I ever advise any of my friends to go there and live the life I lived as a student of Nibelungen? I definitely would - and I'd even say I should! I can hardly compare these days to any other awesome things I've had in my life. Thank you, Dziobaks, you know how to help us have real fun!

Conventions of Thorns

Honestly one of the best live roleplaying experinces ever. I did last years run and I am considering a re-try 2019 if it will run again. PLaying a vampire in a truly grandiouse environment is breath taking. I played a Nosferatu (an ugly vampire, requiering a lot of make up) and enjoyed every minute.

This event changed my life. It was one of the most fun things I've ever done, I made so many new friends, and living in a castle for a weekend? Yes please! All of the organizers were extremely kind, gracious and attentive. Worth every penny.

College of Wizardry

The College of Wizardry is quite an experience... Imagine being part of a fantasy movie, but not one of the main actors, but one of those figures one isn't really aware of when watching. These side characters have stories and experiences of their own - and here is the chance of living them.

Being in a LARP means actually being the character you are playing and College of Wizardry gives you the opportunity to feel that by creating a near perfect illusion of a magical college around you. And just like in real life, it is up to you what to do. It is like being back to school, but without the hassle of having to learn. You can decide wether to be mischievous, a right nerd or to just have fun with friends newly met. Make up a story and enrich it with other players by telling them about it beforehand, so that you have something to share in the LARP or be a loner - the kid mysterious to everyone and surprise the others by showing real compassion in times of need. In any case, the College of Wizardry LARP will be a magical experience, full of fantasy, emotions and magic... Imagine doing a spell that really seems to work. That is great fun!

I had no idea what LARP was and I didn't need to

I had no idea what LARP was, I just saw: magic, castle, create a character and jumped in back when they were doing a crowdfunding.

This experience is:
basically improvisation theatre without an audience, or like being in a film and being part of creating the story. You will interect with other players, everyone playng a character that is given to them and that they can adapt in anyway they want. You will be a student, go to classes, make/lose friends and foes, and around you, other players will do the same, building this great story for 3 days.

This experience is:
magical, transforming, and the begginning of a life with many many new friends!

Take the pill, see you on the other side!

Convention of Thorns

The events by Dziobak are unique. The Convention of Thorns event is basically a dream come true for any World of Darkness enthusiast. Their events basically recreate the experience you know from your favourite fiction - without compromise. You can live the experience and immerse in it. The next step in realism would basically be the real thing: the fiction itself.

Convention of Thorns

The first Convention of Thorns was an amazing experience. There was solid support throughout the creation process of the character and clear communication about what kind of experience that the event would be providing. Once we arrived at the Castle ( we traveled in our own car ) we received our room key, a solid briefing and intro workshop and could focus on making the experience all it could be. The location itself was amazing and lent a beautiful background to the solid vision of the organizing team.

While there are always things to improve on, the core experience was an amazing one, with good support from the organisation and the location. Will definitively attend one of their events again.

To say that these are epic games are …

To say that these are epic games are doing Dziobak a disservice, these are experiences like no other, the attention to detail, the immersion, the locations remind me of a Hollywood blockbuster movie, make your next holiday a Dziobak holiday and have a tale to tell your friends you will remember for a lifetime!
