East Bay Electrician Services is an owner-operated electrical contracting company based in Oakland, California. I'm Matt Raver, a licensed master electrician with more than 25 years of experience, and I personally handle every job from start to finish alongside my two journeyman electricians, Tyler and Carl. We provide residential and commercial electrical services across Oakland and the East Bay. Our core services include: Electrical Panel Services — repairs, replacements, and upgrades for panels that are tripping, outdated, or undersized for modern electrical demands. EV Charger Installation — Level 2 home and commercial charging stations with clean conduit routing, proper placement, and permits handled start to finish. Whole Home Rewiring — replacing knob-and-tube, aluminum, or undersized wiring in older East Bay homes to meet current code. Whole-House Battery Systems — Enphase battery backup installation that keeps essential circuits running during outages, with or without solar. Generator Installation & Repair — Kohler standby generators with automatic transfer switches for residential and commercial backup power. Emergency Electrical Repair — fast response to power outages, tripped breakers, burning smells, and other urgent electrical issues for homes and businesses. A lot of East Bay homes and commercial buildings were built in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, and I've spent my career working on older electrical systems. I know what to look for, how to troubleshoot accurately, and how to bring older systems up to current code without overselling work that doesn't need to be done. When you call, you speak directly with me — not a dispatcher or an office. I come out, evaluate the situation, and give you a clear written quote before any work begins. No service call fee. We're licensed, bonded, and insured. We serve Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward, Fremont, Concord, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, Danville, San Ramon, Antioch, Brentwood, San Francisco, and surrounding East Bay communities.

Excellent service!!!!

We have an older house in Concord and called East Bay Electrician Services for two things — we needed the dryer outlet swapped to a 4-prong so we could use it for EV charging, and we had a subpanel that needed to be replaced.

The owner Matt came over to do walk through. He didn't rush it — explained what needed to happen with both jobs and answered all my questions. Tyler came out a few days later and handled the panel and outlet work and was efficient, clean, no issues.

What I didn't expect was that Matt noticed a few plugs in the house that had never worked. He came back on his own a couple days later and fixed them — didn't charge us anything for it.

Two separate jobs, both done right, and they went out of their way on top of that. Happy to recommend them.

Alexa, thank you for taking the time to write this up. Older Concord homes often have a few surprises once you start digging in, and we're glad we could get both the subpanel and the outlet sorted out cleanly. Tyler does great work and it was no problem for Matt to come back for those plugs — that's just part of making sure everything is right before we call a job done. Really appreciate the recommendation.
