East Meets Dress were a delight to work with from the beginning. I would normally never order clothes over the internet let alone a wedding dress, but with the range of beautiful options available, I took the risk. I'm so glad I did!

I ordered the Maxine Dress late 2019 and it took some time to get my measurements to send away, but through it all the East Meets Dress team were patient and checked up on me. I then decided to order four Anna dresses during the Chinese New Year sale for my bridesmaids. They all arrived together (despite COVID) earlier than I expected.

The Maxine dress is unbelievable...both dresses actually look better in person than in the photo (when does this ever happen?). The 3D embroidery and the quality of the sewing was beyond what I could have imagined. The Anna dresses have such a beautiful velvet which feels and looks luxurious...and fit my bridesmaids so well (all of which are different shapes and sizes).

Even when I noticed that one of the Anna dresses lacked the beading on the collar, the girls at EMD sent me another one straight away. It arrived in Australia within a few weeks, and they even let me keep the one without beading!

I would recommend EMD to anyone, and especially those of us who live internationally. It is so difficult to find quality and lovingly made cheongsams over the internet, but EMD goes above and beyond.

To Jenn, Vivian and Sole, I hope you know that there is a community of women (and men!) who are so grateful to you. You have allowed us to incorporate our precious culture and heritage into our special day so beautifully! East Meets Dress still seems like it's too good to be true. If you're reading this, you're probably having trouble finding a qi pao that's not just a costume dress. Stop your search or you'll just waste more time! EMD bridges the gap between tradition and modern, makes high-quality stuff, has excellent customer service, and does it all for extremely reasonable prices. I saw a post in the facebook group "Subtle Asian Traits" (which has 1.7M members) asking for recommendations for qi pao in the United States, and the ONLY business name that came up multiple times was East Meets Dress.

I ordered the Rachel dress with the phoenix print and got my fiance the Yuan jacket to match. They are made so well and fit us perfectly. All my family and Chinese friends know about EMD now because I'm such a believer.

During this pandemic, East Meets Dress definitely came through with extraordinary customer service! They managed to mail my dress in time for my engagement photo shoot and didn’t charge me extra for the service which I appreciate! The dress looks great! I had to get it altered at my local alteration shop but it all worked out! My photos turned out great and I can’t wait to wear my dress for the tea ceremony!

This dress is absolutely beautiful and the service was great. My dress will require a few adjustments in the breast/shoulder area, but nothing major. They even sent me a cute little sticker and some candy that brought me right back to my childhood (DaBaiTu, anyone?) with my order, which made me feel like they cared.

It was a smooth and enjoyable experiences working with the team at East Meets Dress. Took extra care to make sure they were creating my dress based on my specifications.

East Meets Dress is an amazing company run by the most amazing women. I absolutely love my dream gold Phoenix wedding dress. It was a long journey and I am grateful they worked with me so patiently to help me the design the perfect dress for my wedding. They have the utmost attention to detail and superb customer service. I normally just go with the flow, bite my tongue, and accept a product even if I’m not 100% satisfied with it. I’m not a complainer and that has led to me being unhappy with many of my purchases. East Meets Dress was so attuned to my needs and happiness and wouldn’t accept my halfhearted acceptance of the first dress design mockup. They kept pushing me to achieve 100% satisfaction and happiness until we found the perfect gold Phoenix appliqué for my dream wedding dress. I have never heard of a company so accommodating and caring. And they didn’t charge me any extra for the inconvenience I put them through. They deserve a reward for excellent customer service and dress design.

Words can't even describe how happy I am with my Melinda Dress. It's everything I wanted and more in a wedding cheongsam. I am 5'7 and 145 lbs and the size large fit me perfectly! The dress came in much sooner than I expected and the detail/quality is absolutely amazing! The material is super comfortable and it hugs your curves in all the right places. I had trouble looking for a quality wedding cheongsam online and my only other option was to go to Chinatown and look for a dress shop. I am so happy I came upon this website, all the dresses are so modern and gorgeous. I'm definitely recommending this site to all my friends and family for future weddings! I can't wait to wear this for my tea ceremony/wedding in August, thank you so much! P.S. I absolutely loved that they included candy when I got my dress in the mail, would give an extra star just for that hahaha <3

A+++++ for customer service and quality of product. I was looking for something for our Chinese style rehearsal dinner, my fiancé is Taiwanese. I was really insecure about what to buy given that I am white and trying to embrace my fiancé’s culture without embarrassing myself by culturally misappropriating. East Meets Dress was the perfect solution. Taking with Jenn on the live chat and being able to ask questions helped me to not be embarrassed and actually be excited about wearing a dress way out of my comfort zone. I ended up ordering the Melinda dress, (my Fiancé actually picked it out-) I am 5’ 6” and 145lbs, non-Asian build and I ordered a large and it fits pretty well; the shoulders and neck are a little tight and it seems the sides split a little higher than I expected based on the picture making it a much sexier look that I expected. (My fiancé loves it) The material is super beautiful and thick. It feels high quality and the gold trim is finished all the way throughout the dress.

I ordered a wedding dress, after realizing that this seems like the most reasonable option between cost and style. I had a little bit of skepticism about getting a tailored dress completely over the internet, but based on the reviews I went for it. The attention to detail with regards to measurements, looks, preferences, etc. is amazing. I had both the comfort of doing all of this at home at my own free time (which, as anyone who has to work knows, can make it difficult to schedule anything during regular business hours) and not feeling rushed taking multiple measurements while checking with/without shoes since I didn't feel like I was taking up someone else's time.
I can go on about how well the dress fit and how happy I am with it, but what I really wanted to talk about is the customer service at East Meets Dress -- it's actually what DIDN'T go well made this such a positive experience. My dress was done, it arrived early, I tried it on and it fit great -- but then I find these stains/discoloration on the skirt. I sent the company an e-mail and received a response immediately, with an apology and plans for repair/cleaning. The dress was ultimately sent back for repair AND, while they were at it, they also made a few alterations that I wanted based on having tried it on when it arrived the first time, which was something they initiated and I didn't even think about!
So, there you have it -- East Meets Dress not only delivers their products as promised, but they also stand by it!

I was struggling to find a qipao for a wedding ceremony in China - wary of buying online and having to get altered and not wanting to get ripped off in Chinatown. I then came across East Meets Dress and all my problems are solved! All their dresses are beautiful and cut in modern silhouettes or more traditional. The online process of submitting measurements was really easy and the team clearly reviews them individually. EMD was able to accommodate my rush production request and the dress turned out beautifully.

I was backed to a wall, with very little time until my big day. I think I originally contacted them with about a month and a half left until the actual wedding date. I had searched locally, but did not find the wow I had been hoping for. I originally found East Meets Dress on Etsy, but then wanted more information, so I found their website. Their live chat was easy to use and made for communication that was stress-free. They assured me every step of the way through constant communication that my dress was on its way. The dress was made on time and shipped wayyyy in advance of the date, even though it was not coming from close by. I did the measurements and the seamstress emailed me to confirm measurements that seemed off, so that I was assured that I did it properly (because let's all be serious, I'm not a tailor or a seamstress). I am so happy I found them. The dress was very good quality and I got a lot of compliments. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone who can't make it out to Asia to custom their own qipao. I have nothing bad to say about this company. They even sent a follow up thank you afterwards!

I ordered a custom qi pao from East Meets Dress for my tea ceremony this past September. The East Meets Dress team was incredibly helpful, communicative and prompt throughout the process. The custom qi pao was beautiful, fit perfectly, and was of excellent quality. My husband ordered a jacket, and was likewise pleased with the style, fit, and overall appearance. I would highly recommend East Meets Dress for a gorgeous, high-quality clothing.

I ordered the Melinda dress for the tea ceremony at my upcoming wedding, and it’s beautiful! The details are stunning and the dress fits perfectly. They also sent very cute goodies in the mail. My mom liked my dress a lot too, so much so that she’s ordering a dress here for my wedding as well.
