My 86year old mum said she was…
My 86year old mum said she was struggling with her finances.
I have checked her bank statements and easylife have been taking two lots of £24.99 each month for the last 8 months it could be more but I only had her statements for last 8 months, there are other payments for £76.95. when I phoned they said it was for a subscription and crossword book, and a membership, I asked a membership to what and the advisor said they would issue a refund in 3 working days , it’s over £850.00
My mum is absolutely gutted she doesn’t even make payments over the phone, she still sends a cheque.
And takes cash out for her shopping. So I don’t know how they have her details.
Fraudulent Company!
I have only just noticed that my elderly mother has been scammed for the last 6 months for £23.25, each month, taken out of her bank account. She has never bought anything from this company or agreed to any subscription. Apparently they tried to say my mother agreed to a wellbeing Club over the phone, which is a total lie. Demanded a refund, which they said they would process in 3 days...lets see if honour that. No apology or explanation, will be complaining to the ICO about breach data.
watch out for illegal bank debits
My wife 85 year old wife has just had our account debited with £79.45 and £64.89 by Premium Offers an associate of Easylife using a recent debit card to which they should have no access or authority. These companies and brochures should be avoided and the authorities should take action in response to numerous similar complaints.
This company is CRIMINAL
This company is CRIMINAL! They deserve to be put in jail. After I made an order of a back cushion and a themometer they constantly phoned me trying to get me to sign up for some catelogue, which I refused. I then found they had made deductions from my account. I told my bank and they issued me a new card but after a year, they then began deducting £17.99 and then £69.99. I have now reported them again to my bank who is carrying out a fraud investigation into them.
Absolute scam. Avoid
Absolute scam. Somehow they managed to get my 86 yr old mothers credit card details and charged her £18.50 8 times over 6 months. I cannot find a transaction for anything purchased from them and my mum has no idea how this happened.
Awaiting an explanation from the company.
This company is from Kent and the website is decked out in Easyjet colours
Absolute scam
Absolute scam, looked through vulnerable mothers bank statements to find “premieroffers” and “easy life” all over them totalling over £800 over six months! Yet not recieving or ordering anything from them! Turns out it’s a “cash back subscription service and club” not agreed too! They prey on the elderly and vulnerable so please keep an eye out and contact bank and report them ASAP!
They are con people I also have had…
They are con people I also have had money taken out of my Bank account I get phone calls from them also What are they up to and should be stopped
Beware Read all reviews of this company
My Mother age 97 has had at least £450 taken from her credit card account by this company. I have written to them numerous times to ask for a copy of the documents they supplied to her one with her signature plus a copy of what was provided to her under consumer protection regulation and data protection. They have not answered my queries but have refunded some money. Two amounts were taken out of her account of £74.95 in June 2023 and then in September 2023 (at this time she was seriously ill in hospital) otherwise they have taken £18.50 per month and some months three payments and two payments. I am pursuing this matter with the credit card company and if necessary I will issue against them through the county court as this maybe the only way to force them to provide information.
I find it unbelievable that they cannot answer three simple queries as they need to keep records for six years and how difficult is it to give me a print out of what has been taken out of my Mother's account and what the amounts are for. On researching this company I noted they have been find for breaching data protection. They have been using information on elderly people to profile them and then use this information to cold call them.
Easylife doesn't even deserve 1 star
Easylife doesn't even deserve 1 star. We have just found out that Easylife have taken a number of payments from our account using out of debit date card details.
Back in the early days of covid-19 we ordered some masks 😷. This is the only dealings we have had with them. Since then the card we used was lost and cancelled, back in 2022. Since then Easylife have taken 6 payments from our account totalling £189. Our bank is now investigating as to how this can happen. It has come as a bit of a shock that we missed these amounts coming out of our account and our only excuse is that we find it more difficult to track debits with online statements compared to the old paper statements.
A few lessons learnt from this. 1- don't buy from online catalogue companies without doing a lot of investigating. 2- be more diligent with checking online bank statements.
Easylife may well be trading within the law but their ethics appear to be tantamount to sharp trading and preying on the elderly for huge financial gain.
Absolutely FUMING with this scum bag…
Absolutely FUMING with this scum bag company! Just found out from my 78 year old mum who was sent one of these magazines out of the blue one day and as some older people do who are retired and not much to fill the day she read it and decided to order a couple of things. This was maybe just under a year ago. She found out just today after looking at her bank statements closely to find out that they have been STEALING £18 out of her account every month! She rang them up to ask why this has happened and they said she’s in a subscription so my mum replied by saying she never asked for a subscription for anything and to find evidence that she did. All she did was order something’s and pay in full once. They have apparantly agreed to refund her but I swear if they don’t these scum won’t know what’s hit them it’s disgusting! Don’t fall for these morally Barron scum of the earth company that make a living from robbing old ladies from their hard earned money through being sneaky and not transparent and making things hard to know what’s going to happen if you order something from a random magazine posted through your door! 😡😤
Beware - NO ETHICS
Beware when ordering from this company - this company was fined £1.48 million by the Information Commissioners Office in October 2022 for breaking data protection and electronic marketing laws.
My Mum has had a selection of books posted to her, with an invoice saying that they are going to take a quarterly payment from her bank account - all WITHOUT her consent. They have already taken one payment, using her card details she gave them to process an order for medical item from their catalogue. She has repeatedly asked them to stop sending the catalogue and they continue to come through her door.
Absolutely disgusting that they are targeting elderly customers - need reporting.
Disgraceful and Immoral
My elderly mother has paid £18.50 a month since Dec ‘21. Having just discovered this I rang the company to ask what she was getting for her £18.50 . They said a ‘magazine’. I said ‘it must be some magazine to be worth £18.50 a month! Frankly they sounded embarrassed - I was put through to someone else who talked about a refund and gave me an email address - he also sounded embarrassed! I found the ‘magazine’ - it’s an A5 pamphlet advertising things to buy - it’s not a magazine and pamphlets like this come through the door for free - we call them junk mail!!! After now investigating I cannot believe that this company is allowed to prey on the elderly like this. They have taken over £425 from my mother who is in her 90’s ! She has, until recently , always been sharp and would not have agreed to this - no one would pay £18.50 a month for a piece of junk mail!
Update
When you call they agree to refund and tell you to email - I did this but heard nothing so I rang again . Suddenly the person on the phone can refund anything in the last 6 months while I’m on the phone ( never mentioned when I rang previously) . She can only do this if I can give her the dates the money was taken from mum’s credit card. I asked how it was possible that they had no record - what kind of a business works like this. I could only give 1 at that point. She also told me that my email hadn’t been received and to resend it. I said that there would be no point if it wasn’t received as the address I’d used was correct and to give me another email address! Then I received 2 emails , one saying the refund had been processed, one saying that they needed the dates to process it. On checking the latter was correct!! I have now gone through statements from 2021 onwards where £18.50 is taken quite randomly - some months not at all and others twice in the month!! It’s a clever ploy?!!
We will see what the next hurdle is to getting the money refunded !!!
One of our neighbours wives passed away…
One of our neighbours wives passed away and we tried to cancel her magazine subscription due to her husband being unable to do so and we aren’t family and they have no family. We said we had to cancel it so they didn’t keep sending magazines to help with the environment. We were told she’d have to do it, when we stated she was dead and we weren’t family they said rudely that they were unable to cancel it. Like why she can’t ring up and they have no family. Clearly a company who from other reviews loves to scam the vulnerable and loves to destroy the environment by cutting down trees and making their awful magazines. So not environmentally friendly. Only hire rude staff clearly, so don’t buy from this company and let them go bankrupt.
SCAM COMPANY WHO STEAL FROM OLD LADIES…
SCAM COMPANY WHO STEAL FROM OLD LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - AVOID!!!
My 82 year old mother placed an order by phone, was assured that she had ordered the correct item. Wrong item arrived so rang to request return and refund, was told instead of returning it she should accept £5 (basically the price she paid for postage) partial refund to KEEP the order?? If this wasn't a big enough red flag, six weeks later, no £5 refund received. To top it off, on checking her bank account yesterday, we found that Easylife have stolen £18.50 which she did not agree to. "Customer service" staff are rude, argumentative and belligerent. What an unethical, fraudulent way to run a business. Everyone with elderly relatives please look out for easylife catalogues in their homes and destroy them because your loved ones could be next to get robbed. How does easylife's director sleep at night?

Buy at your peril do not accept any offers for magazine, reward club etc as they will take £18.50 from your bank/credit cards. Either monthly or quarterly as they did to my 87 year old mother.
AVOID AVOID at all costs
AVOID AVOID at all costs - they scam old people! if I could give a zero star I would - how are they still trading??
Oh no, not AGAIN!
I am waiting for 9.00 am when Easylife customer service opens to phone them asking why they have taken just under £20 from my bank account. I have not bought anything from them for around two years when the same thing happened but that was after a purchase. I asked then to be removed from their mailing list. After I have spoken to them I will be contacting my bank to ask them not to pay any further amounts demanded by this company. Normally I keep a very low balance in this account after monthly bills are paid, less than £20.00, but, on this occasion had increased it as I knew an invoice for a higher amount needed to be paid. Sod’s Law that Easylife chose that moment to unlawfully take money from my account.
They steal from you
Easylife have taken 3 unauthorised payments from my bank account without my consent.
Apparently for some subscription that I never signed or agreed to. I made 1 purchase in Jan 2023 and this is the payment method they are using to steal from me.
Please beware of this company, they are just thieves. Luckily they have refunded the 2 payments and I am currently waiting for the 3rd to be returned. Im on edge that I need to check my account often to keep an eye out for these scammers.
Just to add I have spoken to the bank, please check and cancel any recurring transactions as they set them up without your knowledge
This company is a criminal organisation, be warned!!
This company and Wellform are one and the same. (see other Trust Pilot Reviews on these mail order companies) They are criminals who prey on the elderly and vulnerable. My mother in law made the mistake of ordering some garden plants having seen an advert in a national newspaper earlier this year. She never asked to be a subscriber - but low and behold they keep sending magazines and taking subscriptions and huge unauthorised payments from the debit card she used. We have tried unsuccessfully to have them stop. We have now had to contact her bank and cancel her debit card to stop this fraud (Bank say they will inform the police). Next step I guess is informing trading standards?. As others have highlighted this is a criminal organisation!!
