eBay - buy nothing from China
On November 10th, 2025, I purchased what I thought was a beautiful coat from a dealer out of China. Even before purchasing I read the reviews and googled their eBay business name. I knew it was a crap shoot ordering something from China, let alone a custom coat but, stupid me I did it anyway and how sorry I am today for doing so. They said it would be about 6 weeks before receiving it and it was. I watched the delivery truck pull up and the driver walk the package to the door. When I went out on the porch to retrieve it, I knew immediately from the size of the package I had been scammed. There is no way for a 54-inch-long over coat could fit in that small a bag. The only thing I am sorry about is that I did not film me opening it. When I did open it, I unpacked a toxic lime green woman's bustier costume with these long tail pieces hanging all around it and worst yet elbow gloves. I couldn't even be overly ticked off because in the back of my mind I knew it was possible to be scammed like this. I reached out to eBay who responded by offering to get involved with the return process if needed but there really is no need. The dealer sent me a return label, but it was not legitimate, nothing I could put on a FedEx package indicating that they would be paying for it. Also, when they responded they included a copy of the order that had a picture of the coat I bought. So, what do you think would happen when I returned the trash, they sent me? Well, no more eBay for me and definitely never ever buying anything from any dealer out of China and its sad because it seems that 99% of the dealers of the fashion sites are. I only wish I could list the dealers name here in this review. Like I said, lesson learned. Buy nothing from China.

Unable to add Insurance that was offered
I looked at an item and had looked at how much it would cost me if I added insurance and put it in my watch list. The seller sent me a reduced-price offer. I took it but when I tried to purchase it, I was unable to add the insurance. I went ahead and purchased it and today tried to get an answer as to why I was unable to add the insurance. Could get an answer kept refereeing me to a list that didn't apply never a human.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. The supervisor Ilda was unable to provide me with a credit back for some fees which occurred on one of my items by mistake. Their main argument was that I was credited back in the past. It is a shame for such a huge company to treat a customer who has been with eBay for more then 10 years.

Extremely Disappointing Customer…
Extremely Disappointing Customer Service
I purchased an item on eBay, but after some time, the tracking status was marked as “delivered” even though I never received it. It was either delivered to the wrong address or not delivered at all. When I reached out to customer support, they simply advised me to check with my neighbors or visit the local post office to search for my package. Despite my concerns, they closed the case and refused to issue a refund.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and the lack of proper support is unacceptable. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Use to be a eBay Seller and Buyer...
Use to be a eBay Seller, when ratings were high.
Stopped selling but remained a Buyer until now as they do not help when something goes wrong. Too many times things have gone wrong, ripped off and latest issue was my last.
Ebay simply ignored my request and they no longer follow up to help Buyers (see other ratings) and they continue to allow Bad Sellers (we'll call them) to continue.
Last times I purchased items in the past few months resulted in five bad deals, losing my money and wonder how these Sellers have shown so many high ratings yet seem to continue to screw us over. Personally my ratings are five star, since the late 1990's as a Seller and continue today only as a Buyer.
So as of today, February 18, 2025, I will NEVER purchase anything from eBay ever again.
I recently opened an eBay Business…
I recently opened an eBay Business account. I provided all my Business related information and set up my Bank account. I was in the middle of inventory procurement for the beauty products I wanted to sell on eBay. However, I received an email from eBay saying:
"We wanted to let you know that your eBay account has been permanently suspended because of activity that we believe was putting the eBay community at risk. We understand that this must be frustrating, but this decision was not made lightly and it’s important that we keep our marketplace safe for everyone."
I called eBay's customer support and tried to get more information on that. The lady I spoke to was nice in the beginning, but after reviewing my account, her attitude and tone changed. She told me that my account has been permanently suspended and there is nothing they can do. I asked for any information that can help me avoid such a situation in the future. However, she told me that that information was confidential and she cannot continue with this call anymore. She then hung up on me.
My eyes and mouth were wide open as I tried to process what had just happened. I'm still clueless, as there was no activity on my account, so how can my account be putting the eBay community at risk?
eBay's customer service is…
eBay's customer service is NON-EXISTENT. I never received my item and contacted the seller. I was sent a tracking link that did not work. eBay sent another link to dispute my case--this link DID NOT WORK. eBay went on to close my case without my feedback. I will never order another thing from this marketplace. Caveat Emptor.

Machter-USA/ Ebay Crooks
On July 17th I ordered a skid plate for my truck for $267. On the 24th of July the tracking for Fedex said that it was out for delivery. When it didn't arrive, I called Fedex and they opened an investigation and told me that they cannot locate the item and to contact the seller, Machter-USA for a refund. I contacted the seller on July 25th and never heard anything back. Ebay is just as bad as they SAY they guarantee the item or my money and they have done squat. Ebay told me that if we didn't hear from the seller by August 1st they would refund my money. Guess what? No refund from Ebay and no contact with the coward seller who ripped me off. Ebay told me last night that I would now need to wait another 10 days to see what happens with Fedex. I went to PayPal and I've disputed the charge as it appears that Ebay is one of these parties to fraud. I'm in Florida and it's pretty easy to prove fraud by inducement. My next move is a police report and putting everyone on notice that you robbed the wrong guy. I happen to be a web master and this will be fun. I hope the $267 you robbed from me was worth it...
I was ripped off and nothing done about it.
I purchased kyb shocks front and rear on ebay. The seller was Parts Container. A year later I learned the parts were counterfeit, for price of $379.94. I communicated with Ebay customer service and they said there wasn't any thing could do, because it was over 30 days since the purchase, so be careful who you shop with.
eBay - where is your professional dignity ?!?!
Bought an item that shouldn't be sold at the first place by unauthorized seller, but eBay allowed it to be sold. eBay ignored the commercial restrictions!!!
eBay - Where is your ethical and professional commitment?!
eBay/Ayden Payment Processor requesting…
eBay/Ayden Payment Processor requesting a full months bank statements to approve debit card usage. My bank, Wells Fargo has been attached to my eBay account for several years. I have never heard of a company requesting a full months bank statement to approve a debit card (in my case-Wells Fargo) for use. The company apparently has plans to misuse the information for marketing future! I've spent several hours on the phone to no avail. Corporate eBay does not take calls and thus far I ahve been able to contact anyone above the Leadership Payments Team. What a disaster it's been since eBay booted Paypal.
Sellers get ripped off daily.
To many people are complaining that ebay caters to sellers. Ebay has a plan that if a seller is top rated, ships in 24 hours and offers returns then they will "protect" a top rated seller from inconsistent negatives. While the program is sometimes not fair one way, it also goes the other what that buyers don't see. I am a seller and ebay has been screwing sellers for years now. Sellers used to be able to stop buyers from filing falsified returns. ie they broke the item sold to them and want to call it defective and force a return. ebay finds for the buyer 99.999999% of the time. The whole site has gone downhill for years in a row now. As this experience of falsified returns continues to grow into a cancerous mass, sellers are continuing to leave the site. I have reduced my offerings by 60% thanks to the rampant fraud.
I was amazed at how casually they stole from me
I was amazed at how casually they scammed me. I ordered something, paid HUGE transport fees (more than the item itself). They tried to deliver while I was at work, never once trying again. There was no way of contacting anyone by phone or a way to find out if I could collect the item from a collection centre. two weeks later I received this:
This case is now closed
Hi Christopher,
We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, it looks like this item is stuck in customs.
After reviewing all the details of this case, we determined that you won't receive a refund.
If you are reading this. DO NOT USE EBAY

Buyers will find any way to scam you
Buyers will find any way to scam you. If you don’t include everything in your description they will find a way to cheat you out of partial refunds. Its disgusting. Make sure you take a hundred photos and videos of all products you sell. Believe me buyers will find a way to screw you.
Zero Rating...if I could leave one.
Zero...if I could leave one.
I was once a "power-seller" on eBay with a great rep. 100% satisfaction as a buyer & a seller.
Market Crash of 2009 changed that.
Took a decade-long hiatus & only used eBay occasionally during that time.
That's when eBay started changing their "user agreements".
I returned in 2019 to find exhorbitant "fees" & loopholes where fraudulent buyers & sellers took advantage of HONEST buyers & sellers.
Fees KEPT INCREASING up to 2020...& EVERYTHING that was wrong with the "user agreement" became "we can't help because of covid" (furthering my suspicion that "covid" was economic more than viral).
The "straw that broke the camel's back" was finding an absurd 44% in fees & charges ADDED UP to sales I made & eBay taking NON-REFUNDABLE shipping charges BEFORE the option to choose a shipping platform was made by me.
The "shipping fee" on top of "final value fee" & "state taxes" for SELLING (that's a BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY...which they "charge the buyer" sales tax as well).
Taxes paid (which I ALWAYS DID) is the respinsibility of the individual & NOT the place for the crooked gov't IRS system & their "billionaire corporate entity buddies" to unjustly fleece the taxpayer, RAISE THE TAXES HIGHER...& fleece the taxpayer MORE!
After 20 years of buying & selling (with the WHOLE platform getting exponentially WORSE), I am closing my account COMPLETELY after 20 years.
Not eBay...GREEDbay!😡
