They'll take your money and not show up

Do not use them. The worst cab service in Malta.
They tell you they'd show up in a couple of minutes but then take other rides and don't show up for half an hour. Also you get charged a cancelation fee even if the driver is not coming for you.

Terrible and unsafe

These guys have really changed since we were here 1 year ago. Overcharging, late arrivals, rude or incompetent service advisors, crazy drivers.... used three times this trip and never again.
Get a quote - make sure they stick to it.

Very good service

I used eCabs twice during my 4 days in Malta. I found that the app worked very well. Also I was impressed by the service. The first time I used the app to call a cab to my location. I was given a 7 minute wait time and the cab was there in 8 minutes, The 2nd time I scheduled a cab to pick me up the next morning at my hotel at 08:40 for transport to the airport. The cab arrived at 08:42. No problem with that. On the app it was possible to follow my cab's approach on the app, which was useful. Both times the driver was very professional and drove well. Recommended.

Reliable, safe, excellent ecabs-ride in GOZO

Experiences vary with individual drivers, but good ones outnumber impertinent ones - it depends very much so on bad luck getting the odd one that complains about luggage picking you up at the airport, dropping you off with luggage far from your house, or even obliviously arriving super late on a preordered journey. When holidaying in Gozo, however, I got the super draw of a reliable, excellent and safe ride from Mġarr, which cannot be said in Gozo of the competing green colour company which I would not recommend in Gozo for sure.

Still the better option out there. Read below

Ever since ride hailing apps entered the Maltese market there’s been a choice of 2 or 3 companies of which eCabs has been the better of the three.

I flew into Malta between midnight Saturday/ Sunday morning and was sceptical at first given the recent developments by the government on cab drivers and their licenses. The last year or so has been an nightmare but this time around I was lucky to have had a very pleasant driver. A few things have changed at the airport so I wasn’t sure where cabs pull up and pick passengers up from. The driver made the effort to call me ahead of time and explain where he was waiting for me and in return accepted the ride so that I wouldn’t be charged past the wait time.

I have given a 5 star review based on the drivers behaviour and courtesy however unfortunately cab ordering on apps in Malta has turned into a circus. If anyone reads this from eCabs please note that you have a number of drivers absolutely abusing the system by accepting a ride and cancelling it just because “they don’t feel like it” or picking and choosing trips as it suits them resulting in the waste of customers time. Had I been reviewing eCabs a few months ago the stars would be very different. I’ve got a few comments I could make about an issue I faced the last time I arrived in Malta which I’d be happy to share with you if your management team are interested.

The way I see it is, if the drivers are not willing to take the trip or constantly cancel trips then their contract should be suspended so they can **** (enter your word of choice here) off back to where they came from so they can be lazy over there. Some people need to be places and get to airports for flights.

I hope someone from your team can pick this up and once again I’d be glad to share what I experienced with you.

Got dropped off approx. 500m from accommodation

We book ecabs as our flight was supposed to arrive at midnight, with the delay we actually got in at 2.45am. We found our driver quickly, but got really annoyed when he dropped us off at the far end of the street indicating that our house was at the next corner. It took us at least 15 minutes dragging our 20kg wheeled bags over the cobble stones at 3.30 in the morning. The next day we checked, how the cab driver could have dropped us off easily close to our accommodation.

Unfair charge – I will take this further

eCabs charged me €3.60 for a ride that never even started. I was at the correct pick-up point and contacted the driver, but still got charged. Support ignored my evidence and refused to refund.

I will take this further, because these unfair practices must stop.

Disastrous service

I have lived in Malta for over a decade. First time I arrived in the country Ecabs was offering stellar service, with respectful, on-time drivers who showed professionalism and client centered behavior. In the past three years however, I have never seen a worse taxi service across the island. You book in advance, you even call to make sure they don’t forget the kids booster, or to make sure they are on time as you have a flight to catch, and they cancel on you at the last moment. You call their office and nothing is resolved. Just to clarify, this has happened multiple times, not just once and it happened not just with the economy version, but even the more ‘high-class’ options from their app. Disastrous service and a good display of how an extremely professional company can disgrace itself. I recommend you don’t book with them if you travel to Malta.

Perfect!

I've used eCabs twice so far and on both occasions the drivers punctual, kind and professional in driving. The vans (I was with a group of friends) were new and clean, nothing to complain about. By the way, I don't understand negative reviews, they must be competitors or people who have time to waste.

Prices are built on bases prices with a price per km, but then vary depending on multiple factors based on supply and demand, traffic, and other external factors. This is the most unprofessional cab…

This is the most unprofessional cab company in the country. Please never use their services!!! It happened twice in a row that they left me waiting more then 30 min where there was written 2 min. Also they are very unkind and rude when you call customer service. Huge 👎 for this company. Im deleting app. Disaster

Unreliable

Delays on delays and when the driver was only 2 mins away to pick us up, he cancelled. Next available driver was 23 minutes away. Unreliable.

Terrible

Terrible. I went outside waiting to be taken to the airport, driver is late. I call eCabs and get a call from the driver that he's at the address at the same time so I picked the driver's call only to realise he's in the wrong place, adding more stress to the situation, especially given he wasn't Maltese and there are no landmarks near me so hard to explain! We finally got to the airport 5 mins later than planned (I was only travelling with a handbag, so time was of the essence given I calculated just enough time to arrive approx. 1 hour before boarding). As we're almost there, not to waste time, I asked him, how do I pay? And instead of talking to me, he showed me the amount on screen which was steeper than I was told over the phone and also hadn't answered my question. I got the card out and he said no cash.... I was never told to prepare cash when I was booking. Luckily I had some cash on me but he didn't have change so there I was wasting time again sitting there trying to find a solution. He never said sorry for the delay and to add insult to injury, the car stank of curry!!!! Made me feel sick at 4am! Unprofessional and time wasters!
