Hi Maham,
Thank you for your question — this is an important point to clarify.
EchoMasters is a professional echocardiography training provider, not an accreditation or regulatory body. Our courses are designed to build strong foundational knowledge, practical scanning skills, and clinical confidence, particularly for clinicians and allied health professionals (including nurses) who are early in their echocardiography journey.
Completing our course does not in itself make someone an accredited echocardiographer. Formal accreditation (e.g. BSE or FUSIC) must be obtained through the relevant professional bodies and requires supervised clinical scanning, logbooks, and formal assessment.
Importantly, our Hands-On Foundation Course is an approved FUSIC Heart course, endorsed by the Intensive Care Society (ICS). This means it is specifically designed to support candidates entering the FUSIC Heart accreditation pathway, which is widely undertaken by nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals working in critical care and acute settings. The course is also aligned with BSE Level 1 standards and supports those pursuing this pathway with solid underpinning knowledge and practical skills.
Many of our delegates — including those from nursing backgrounds — use EchoMasters as a structured, high-quality entry point to:
• Understand echocardiography fundamentals
• Gain hands-on scanning skills
• Prepare for supervised clinical practice
• Progress into recognised accreditation pathways (such as FUSIC or BSE)
We are very transparent about this positioning and actively support learners in understanding what comes next after the course.
If you’re coming from a nursing background, this course can be an excellent first step, provided you plan your onward supervised training with the appropriate accrediting body.
Wishing you all the best in your echocardiography journey.
