I bought loofahs and a "spatula"

I bought loofahs, shampoo bar, and what I thought was a bamboo spatula. I opened the box and found a one and a half inch tiny, laughable toothpick looking wooden thing. Not sure what you're supposed to do with it. Won't be buying from them again. I guess the loofahs and shampoo bar are fine though. Just feel ripped off by the "spatula".

They deleted my review

They deleted my review! I have bought from them 3 times already (razor, soap, blade replacement and soap dish) and it only hit me with the blade replacement how cheap and dishonest this company is! They sent me a new blade brand (I bought 20 blades), I researched it, and you can buy the same brand (manufactured in Korea) blades for around $5 and get 100 blades. The worst part is how they deleted my review from this morning… So disappointed, I’ve definitely spent over $100 here…

They don't do refunds if your unsatisfied

I purchased a safty razor starter kit from Ecoroots. After reading their instructions and watching a lot of YouTube videos about how to shave with a safty razor I convinced myself to order it. I was so excited to try it & unfortunately it didn't work good for me at all! I cut myself to pieces even following instructions. Frustrated I emailed ecoroots to ask for a refund. To my surprise they said no returns but I didn't ask to return I asked for a refund. and not only no but told me to watch videos and then they explained briefly how to shave 🤦‍♀️. They basically implied that I'm just stupid and don't know how to shave. Needless to say they won't give me money back and I'll never order anything from them again. Worst customer service ever!

Buy From Ecoroot if You Want to Waste Your Money

I ordered cotton rounds and sunscreen from Ecoroots. Both contained plastic; the rounds were finished with synthetic thread (upon doing a burn test, it melted), the sunscreen also had a plastic label. My one-star review on the rounds has been deleted twice. However, my four-star review (that still pointed out the plastic on the sunscreen) remains up. I really feel cheated, this was my first foray into zero-waste and I was ripped off by someone who clearly doesn't care what they're selling. In the future, it goes without saying that I will be avoiding Ecoroots.

BUYER BEWARE! CHEAPLY MADE, UN-LABLED CHINESE GOODS!

As someone who's striving to live Zero-Waste, I ordered a couple of items from EcoRoots: reusable makeup rounds and reusable produce bags, sold under EcoRoots own brand name. The items that I received appeared so poorly made and of such dubious quality, that I could tell they had been made in China the minute I set eyes on them -something that Antonia at EcoRoots only confirmed to me after my second e-mail attempt.

Why was I forced to (repeatedly) request the country of origin directly from the seller? Because the country of origin/manufacture wasn’t listed anywhere on either the products themselves OR their packaging -and the produce bags in particular bags came in a LOT of unnecessary packaging! Even though the produce bags are flimsy cotton bags which easily roll up and fit inside the largest cotton bag, the bags came packed in a relatively heavy cardboard box, with a glossy cardboard insert, which detailed things like care/washing instructions and EcoRoot's various social media handles, but made no mention of the country of origin/manufacture.

Trying to get simple responses from Antonia was like pulling teeth: she didn't feel inclined to apologize, explain or even acknowledge EcoRoot's actions, even though U.S. Customs and Border Protection requires country of origin labelling on imported merchandise (with relatively few exceptions). Eventually, Antonia stopped responding to my emails altogether (not entirely surprising given how little effort or concern she put into the two responses she did send).

Nothing about overly packaged goods imported from half-way around the world, manufactured using questionable labor and environmental (to say nothing of hygiene practices, during the height of the Covid-19 shutdown) seems particularly green or eco-friendly to me, and excessive packaging and unnecessary shipping can never be considered Zero Waste, not matter how much EcoRoots greenwashes it.
