Poorly managed care company

This is one of the largest social care providers in Penrith. In my experience, the company appears to struggle to consistently provide enough carers to meet the needs of all its clients. Call times and allocated carers do not always match the weekly rota, and clients do not always appear to receive the full amount of time they have been scheduled for.

Many elderly people rely on regular routines, so unexpected changes can be particularly difficult. On some occasions, visits have been cancelled at short notice due to staff sickness or annual leave. This can have a significant impact on people who depend on support with essential daily tasks.

The majority of carers I have encountered have been professional, competent and have treated clients with dignity, respect and empathy. However, there have been occasions where some staff appeared to lack the training or skills required for certain aspects of their role.

In my view, the main issues seem to lie with the management and organisation of the service rather than with most frontline carers. Responses to emails and concerns can be slow, and at times there has been little or no communication. I have also found that problems are not always handled with the level of compassion or understanding that I would expect from a care provider.

Overall, my personal experience has been extremely disappointing, and based on conversations with others, some of these concerns do not appear to be isolated incidents.
