Unprofessional LinkedIn spam – generic ad, no real opportunity and no reply
I was contacted on LinkedIn by Editx with a generic message promoting their website. There was no personalized job opportunity, it felt like mass outreach.
"Hi Dominique,
I'am xxx, Community Manager Editx, the biggest Tech community & IT Jobsite in Belgium (+75000 IT profiles registered). You can find more than 1000 updated IT jobs in Belgium. Don't hesitate to have a look at it & create your profile, it takes 5 seconds with AI: ..."
I asked twice for clarification about the purpose of the contact :
"Hi xxx,
Could you clarify the purpose of contacting people this way? Do you contact every IT consultant / profile systematically, or is there a specific reason you reached out to me?
Are you proposing a particular opportunity, or is this a general invitation to join Editx?
Thanks for your clarification,
Kind regards"
"Hi xxx,
Just following up on my message below — I haven't heard back from you.
If you contacted me regarding a specific opportunity that matches my profile (Infrastructure / Linux Engineer, based between Brussels and France), I'd be happy to discuss it.
If it's only generic advertising for Editx, please don't contact me again.
Kind regards
Dominique"
I never get any reply.
A waste of time and energy. Very unprofessional approach.
