Excellent service and options
Alison Rogers of Edlets was very helpful, efficient, and courteous. She offered many options meeting our requirements and budget, even negotiating a lower rate for an excellent property. Very satisfied, indeed.
No money from my FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit
Most of my interactions with Edlets have been positive. Last year, we booked 4 months but had to cancel and they gave us credit for the original booking. Nice. BUT I reserved for a month this summer and they passed the reservation to Silver Lining Apt. First SLA did a bate and switch. I was not unhappy with the new place as the neigborhood was good. After the month stay with no problems, I expected a 500 pound refund on the refundable deposit. Even though Edlets did call SLA I have after 2.5 months received NO deposit return. It looks like Edlets gave up. SLA will not reply to calls or emails. There seems to be NO Scottish part of government that cares. That might be why SLA keeps your deposits because they can and no one cares.

Tried to charge me an extra £300 after booking
Booked an apartment on air bnb for 10 people for £930 for 2 nights in edinburgh. Was the contacted by the host and asked to go on to the edilets website and make a separate booking for some reason , asked what I should do and was told to just look it up online. Already found this very rude and unhelpful. I did anyway , to be told that to confirm the booking the price would be an extra £300. I queried this and explained I had already been charge a different price and they then phoned me and said it was a mistake and that they actually charge an extra 18% on top of the air bnb listing and I was made out to feel stupid as if I should have known this. The person said it was still a good price and didn’t seem to care or want to acknowledge the mistake they made and had nothing else to say other than it was the wrong price and the new price was still a good deal. Absolutely shocking experience and customer service , and considering my card had been charged close to £1000 already they should have just gave me the booking at the advertised price rather than take more money off me and make me feel like I had to do. Avoid.

Having been let down by another rental…
Having been let down by another rental firm I was delighted by the speed with which Edlets found me an equivalent rental - and at a better price! The staff I spoke with were very friendly but professional - understood immediately my requirements and asked all the right questions about location, need for fewer stairs etc. A delightful experience, easily the best in the 20+ years I've been coming to Edinburgh for the festival.
I'll know where to start when booking next year.

Unfortunately while booking overseas it can be hard to get these processed, and the website is extremely glitchy and unable to show you prices and other important things.
Thankfully the staff are great and will work hard to send you options, and process things over the phone if their website is having issues. I would use edlets again - thank you!
