Horrid staff
Horrid staff, terrible hygiene for expensive drinks. Do not drink anything if it’s not from a can. Long queues and awful music.

I Put Up With Them Refusing Me Entry Previously As My Footwear Magically Became Unacceptable, But My Only ID Which They've Been Accepting All Year "Disability Freedom Pass" Is Now Unacceptable, As Apparently The Law Has Just Changed! We Supposedly Won The Factory Of Unnecessary Personal ID Being A Requirement As We're Not Meant To Be A Police State "YET"! So An Expected Night Out Ends, Even Though The Security Guard Who Recognised Me Could Have Told Me ASAP Instead Of Making Me Wait!
Absolutely awful place. Security like an airport or a prison with the attitude and rudeness to match - you’d think they are guarding some national treasure.
I thought it was just my perception but after going through a bunch of one star reviews here and on TripAdvisor I see it’s something this club is known for.
The venue itself is quite unclean, the floor is sticky and patchy; you can feel it needs a good mop. Also the air conditioning is nearly non-existent and it’s a short time before things get very hot and sweaty.
And yes the toilets are absolutely filthy, with all the money this place makes on overpriced drinks and ridiculous cloak room charges you’d probably think they could hire a cleaner or two?
The Bollywood night DJ was average at best - throwing together random Hindi songs with no semblance of theme or transition.
Could be better managed, I’ll probably not visit again.
I recently went to Trance Sanctuary at Egg London, I liked that security was thorough, staff were upbeat & polite. However, what ruined it for us (and I went in a really safe group with family, we’re an older crowd who used to club a lot as youngsters) was a relentless hassling of some male clubbers who were definitely not originally from the UK. They seemed to think it completely normal to saddle up next to females in our group, stare at us, ask us if we wanted to be their boyfriend, or sometimes grab us. It went on all night. None of us in our group dressed provocatively, we wore trainers and jumpers and wanted to dance freely like everyone else. It became such a nuisance for my brothers and cousin who had to continually ward off unwanted attention from people would not take no for an answer.
Thankfully there were 2 members of staff in the corridors when you moved around and someone in the ladies toilet, thank god, as most of the toilets had no locks on the door. But there should be more staff around the dance floor to check on people being a nuisance to females. It’s 2023, loosing my inhibitions to dance freely in a jumper & trainers or any outfit for that matter should not feel unsafe. Sort it out. We won’t be going again because of this.
Have been to Egg a bunch of times; not the best night available but every now and again you can experience a good night with tasteful music. In general I find that security is a bit more rude than in other clubs (not sure if their Training encourages them to be like that), and floor staff can bully you to not lean, not sit down (unless you paid and reserved an area), and even try to obligate people to put their jackets or bags in the cloakroom... I have seen bad behaviour a few times - it just seemed staff was trained to try to monetise everywhere they can.
Last night was the last straw and my last visit. I paid for the ticket online (I know Egg has 3 floors and that is what I expected to visit), but they are (dishonestly) splitting a night into two events. Turns out my ticket only allowed me to go to the ground/basement floor so not much ambiance and the night was already feeling too long. The event was supposed to be a ‘summer house’ gig but the djs were really bad, did not know how to fade and transition music properly nor how to pick a good selection of house - very baffling for a very known club in London. The lowest moment was when the dj lost the sound (not sure if he did not know to operate the deck or if there was a major technical issue), but the sound went DEAD for FIVE full minutes, while many screamed ‘refund’. The venue is losing it.
Unnecessarily aggressive & rude staff from security to glass collectors. Wont be going back
Egg, as well as its sister club Cell200, provide a poor context for clubbing. The security is shocking, and rather than making you feel safe, they humiliate and violate. The pace is slow too, so by the time you are in, you wish you hadn’t bothered. egg has a silly vip area, which is not suited for this kind of scene. The queues for the bar are excessive. Staff are unfriendly and usually, so is the crowd, maybe a result of an incoherent layout
I spent £25 for a club which was so dead & empty & not fun at all. The same bad music played in all of the rooms & No one was drunk enough to enjoy that.
