A poor service. Not reliable for two way video calls or long meetings (for work). Less of an issue for Streamers because of the caching in the streamer apps. I've had multiple issues of loss of servic... See more

Stay away from eir
Eir's broadband and, in particular, their so-called customer and technical support team, from our experience, has been horrendous. Our family has been with Eir for several years, and we have never received the proper broadband service from them. Dealing with their customer and technical support teams is one of the most difficult challenges to undertake, given their unpredictable reactions, which can range from the left hand not talking to the right hand to outright contempt from their technical people when the customer tries to push too far on resolving an issue. They give us constant false promises, like if we get this, it will fix our problems, if we fix this, everything will be fine, and for each lie they tell us, it takes ages calling them, dealing with them, they're terrible. They have taken a lot of time out of our lives that we can’t get back, and the Wi-Fi remains incredibly unstable; I can't even use it. Upgrading with them is nearly impossible due to their slow response time and lack of assistance. The experience we have had with them wears you down and makes it difficult to actually try to change from them, with the fear of having to start up with another supplier and experience a similar situation. And after all the crap we dealt with them, you forget a payment for literally one day due to a credit card expiring, then they threaten to cut you off, it's horrible. To save a lot of time and stress, avoid EIR from the start of your broadband setup.
Eir : Dreadful Company
I am trying to get Eir fibre installed. The installation was due yesterday. I was waiting on a call from Eir 9am -12pm, Eir never rang. Today Eir cancelled my contract saying I did not answer the phone, rang Eir today, they said there was an issue with their Openair booking system, a joke
Network is up and down. Can't even use my phome
My phone metwork is up and down.At time of writting it showing only 1 bar, I went in supermarket and could not even receive or make a call. This company is idiotic.I have been with Eir for more than 10 years but its going to worst.iI won't recommend

7 months since we signed up for broad…
7 months since we signed up for broad band, poles in months and they came out again recently to put the poles in, they were surprised to see them up although we rang repeatedly rang to tell they had already put the poles in the ground
Would give 0 stars but that isn’t an option
Honestly I never leave reviews but eir mobile is ridiculous and they are ridiculous. On my second month with them they charged me a bill of 455 euros which I had to have waived only because I threatened them to go to the commissioner. Mind you, the guy who sold me the plan told me I would have international calls with my number and they set me on a plan and told me instead of prepaying that I would pay 14.99. This month I said I would rather make less calls and still I was charged a bill of 95 euros. I will be leaving eir because they are ridiculous and they are scammers. 100 euros is prepay top up for 5 months by the way. They are ridiculous and stupid. Thank you to Ross for having my fee waived so if you want to use this review to give him an incentive that would be great as he was very kind and helpful. Other than that eir is most definately a scam. Will be porting my number back to prepay.
How can you have a monthly plan and be…
How can you have a monthly plan and be charged for a customer service line? Ive tried every number I can find and it keeps sending my to the one that charges… there are two pending payments for my monthly top up plan which I will be reporting to my bank as fraud if both payments are taken and I also received 9 confirmation messages over the course of the day (yes 9 about the same top up)
Misled on Number Porting, Then Charged During Cooling-Off
I asked the Eir representative in advance if I could definitely port my existing number to Eir and was assured it would be possible; in the end Lyca Mobile didn’t allow the port, so the switch failed through no fault of mine. Because I was still within the cooling‑off period, I was told everything for mobile would be cancelled and I wouldn’t be charged; however, my final bill still included a Mobile Activation Fee of €9.99 and “eir Mobile Connect – 30 Day” charges from 24 Jul 25 to 30 Jul 25 for €6.78. Yes, these aren’t huge sums, but that’s money that could go toward a few coffees instead of being thrown away after being given false information and then billed anyway.
This experience reflects poor customer service and billing practices: first inaccurate advice about porting, then assurances during the cooling‑off period that there would be no mobile charges, followed by activation and pro‑rata plan fees appearing on the bill. For reference, Eir’s own SIM‑only page shows “eir Mobile Connect – 30 Day” as a rolling plan, and Irish consumer guidance explains that first bills can include part‑period charges—neither of which should undermine a clear cooling‑off cancellation promise. I encourage Eir to honor what agents commit to during cooling‑off and to proactively waive activation and short-period plan charges when services are cancelled promptly due to failed number porting.
If Eir is reading: please review the recording/notes for my cooling‑off cancellation, reverse the €9.99 activation fee and the €6.78 part‑period “Mobile Connect – 30 Day” charge, and confirm in writing per your Complaint Code of Practice. My account number is: 50607057.
I am extremely disappointed with Eir's…
I am extremely disappointed with Eir's internet service. The connection is very poor and frequently drops, making it unreliable for everyday use, let alone for work or online activities that require stability. What makes the situation even worse is the complete lack of accessible customer support. I have repeatedly tried to contact their customer service, but to no avail — calls go unanswered, online support is unresponsive, and there seems to be no effective way to get help.
Poor internet quality combined with zero customer service makes this a very frustrating experience. I cannot recommend Eir to anyone in need of a dependable internet provider. The service is unacceptable, and I regret choosing them.
Woeful Website
Tried to reset my password, and the function didn't work. The website experience overall is completely awful, with a lot of words at the bottom where links should be that can't be clicked, never mind the appearance which is the opposite of what I expect from a modern website.
Never again with EIR
Never again with EIR! When I renewed my contract, there was no mention that the price would keep increasing every month. I started paying around €36 per month, now it’s almost €60. I called them to cancel immediately, and they told me I still have over 90 days left and would have to pay €2.90 per day – over €200 – just to get out. Absolutely disgraceful!
Their customer support is a joke: impossible to reach, always hours of waiting on the phone, and when someone finally answers, they do nothing to help. Completely anti-customer, non-transparent and unfair company.
Horrible experience – I will never use EIR again for anything: not internet, not broadband, not phone, nothing. My advice: stay far away from this company!
Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. 1 star cos there’s no ZERO OPTION!! On hold 2 hours after being told I would get a call back two days previously. shocking customer care will NOT BE RENEWING contract.
Ronan - customer service with care and humanity
I am carer for my 87 yr old mother who has alzheimers. My mother had an issue with her phone bill and I phoned 1901 eir customer service. I dealt with 3 seperate operators who all advised me they could not help with my issue. In desperation I contacted the EIR Age Friendly contact number and spoke with Ronan who took my issue seriously and went above and beyond and resolved the issue within 24 hours - I cannot thank Ronan enough for restoring my belief in Eir and Humanity. Ronan deserves special mention and a bonus/promotion ! - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Wow, I wish I had seen these reviews before I signed my life away. I signed a 24 month contract in March 24, I was told the price would be 35, the sales man was a total liar as apparently that price would never have been agreed and I have no proof of anything. But why would i have cancelled my current broadband at 35 otherwise?
in April 24 it was their 'annual price increase'. So, the price I agreed not only was a lie but it lasted 3.5 weeks. How is this even legal???? They never tell you any of this and say its in the small print. I had also signed up for mobile and when I called to complain about all this extra money they told me it was additional phone minutes. But the price continued to rise. By April 2025 my bill is now 85 a month. It's absolutely disgusting. I asked to cancel 7 months early and they said my exit fee was €650!!!!!!!!!!! And I have no way out. I signed a contract for 35 and legally they are getting away with 85 a month less then 2 years later. It is DISGUSTING. DO NOT TOUCH THESE ROBBERS!!
Hell will freeze over before I ever go back to Eir
Had our Mobile and Broadband with Eir. The mobile service was less than adequate, and the customer service was an AI bot, that drove you in circles.
Decided to change provider for both services.
Thought everything went well, paid off all invoices. Then started getting Eir Text messages saying I owed money which I believed to be a scam, as the text alert said “Likely Scam”, plus, given that I had paid off and transferred everything, it made complete sense that this was a scam.
Until Eir engaged a debt collection service.
Apparently, my account wasn’t cancelled so had to pay them for their mistake otherwise the debt collection person threatened me with legal action.
Hell will freeze over before I ever go back to Eir.
I didn't change to Eir because I'm…
I didn't change to Eir because I'm still in contract, but, you had a rep in my area today, Eric, deserves five stars for how nice, kind and engaging with myself and my neighbours, lovely lad!
Closing My Eir TV and Broadband Account
I'm a relieved person today to finally be rid of Eir for TV and Broadband. They overcharged me by €57 on my final bill and couldn't explain why!! All they could say was that they've never seen a cessation charge put in twice before on an account bill.
It took 40 minutes over the phone (I was kept on hold for at least half of this time while they tried to correct their mistakes) to resolve the issue. Then they informed me that I could also get erroneously charged for the return of the TV and Broadband equipment as their two systems might not link up correctly!!I have to keep my return receipt in case I've to ring up again with the reference number to recoup any more incorrect charges!
After 3 years as a loyal customer, I feel totally let down and disrespected. It's terrible customer service and a shocking way to do business.
Left begging for help, when it was Eir's fault!
Having been reassured at the Eir shop in Kilkenny that Eir broadband wouldn't be a problem to install, we agreed to buy it. Only to be told it couldn't be. Back I. The Eir shop, the manager stick his head out of his office while I was speaking to his colleague. He barked at me for 2 minutes, listing the multiple reasons it had nothing to do with them and his staff wouldn't be helping me. He didn't bother stepping out of his office, just put his head around the door. I suggested his being angry wasn't helpful; he repeated his unhelpful speech. As he went to leave I asked for the phone number for customer service at least so i could get help. Rex said it wasnt CS i should call but 1800... He went to leave again and I begged him to let me get the number down at least. At the Eir HQ my husband encountered Jordan the manager. Repeated experience of arrogance with no responsibility taken. Why is everything a battle with Eir?
Stay away
Absolutely horrible and disgrace.I was with eir on bill pay for 8 years. A month ago my contract was expiring so I wanted to change to another provider because eir was constantly overcharging.
I gave my notice one month, talked to an agent and specify that I want to keep my number( which I have 10 years) .
When I transfered to another provider they simply deactivate my number and wanted to charge 120 euro for activation.
No thanks.
Absolutely unprofessional staff,no proper training or decent English, agents do not have a clue about anything.
Stay away from eir please
