If I could rate minus stars I would
If I could rate minus stars I would. I have seen customers consistently complain about how they have been duped with their EICR certificates. James came to my flat found a "fault" which he refused to fix - even though we offered to pay. He then said we could only get the "fault" fixed by the electrician who had been to my flat previously. As you can imagine the absolute stress i felt trying to get that same company to come to my flat. When the old electrician came he said it was a minor fault but I ended up paying an additional £110.
When sending James the photos of the "fix to the fault" changing the sockets, he then demanded a minor works completion certificate which cost me £90 extra. Then James would not release the certificate until I paid £30 (on top of the £280 I had originally paid him).
I dont think this man is qualified to do any kind of check. When reading the report he said the estimated age of installation is 30 years. Not sure how he concluded this when my property is a new build - built in 2014.
I will reporting James and his company to trading standards and any other relevant body.
Awful experience
Awful experience. Did EICR and had a list of c2 follow on actions. Received a quote for follow on work which I agreed to. After about 10 emails, being given the runaround and many broken promises - I had to engage another electrician. They seem to really relish messing people about. Don’t waste your time, look elsewhere for a reliable company
Great service received
Great. Peter visited the property for an appointment arranged through our landlord via OpenRent. He phoned ahead of his arrival, was friendly and professional throughout, explained the issue clearly and fixed it promptly. He was very respectful while in the property. Pleased with the service received and would happily recommend him based on this experience.
Poor customer service
I booked James to renew my EICR certificate. He failed to turn up for the first appointment, but thankfully I was able to reschedule with my tenants for later that week.
After the visit, James apparently forgot to issue the certificate. After 2 weeks of unanswered emails, phone calls and WhatsApps, he finally issued an EICR with the wrong name on it.
He claimed he had been on holiday for 2 weeks - if that was true, he shouldn't have taken on a job which he wouldn't have been able to complete.
I don't know whether James is a competent electrician, but he really needs to sort out the customer facing side of his business. It's not fun to have to repeatedly chase someone to complete a job after they've taken your money. Sorry James but I can't recommend you after this experience.
Extremely bad service. Don't use them
James is the WORST electrician I've ever used in my 15 years as a portfolio landlord.
1. A simple electrical repair job + certificate took 43 email exchanges, countless chases, and many (unanswered) phone calls to get through and in the end he did it wrong. Vey very very bad in communication and very very very slow in response.
2. He kept on forgetting thigns and mixing up things. Asked him to do two jobs, came in and did only one. Asked him to give quote on some extra job, never returned with a quote.
3. Came up with phantom problems to force you to spend more money to fix things. Otherwise wouldn't issue you the EICR certificate that was promised to give. I wasted nearly £300 to get nothing!

- An EIRC was paid for via openrent portal £175.
- A contractor was sent
- The contractor has completed assessment and failed the report
- Notes of the reasons for failure are vague and in jargon
- Requested a detailed explanation of what is required and evidence
- Details not provided and no evidence provided
- Suspect this contractor has supplied false details for a payment
- When contacting supplier for the details a quote on remedial work, they quoted me £300 but unable to give me details of what is required.
- I went to have a look myself and was unable to visibility see any broken switches or lights as mentioned on the report.
- Following numerous emails exchanges with James from the supply company, i was told he would reduce cost for remedial to £250. Still no evidence or details of what is required to be fixed.
- He finally let me know that i could send my own electrician to make the fixes and they would update the report to a pass at a cost of £30 plus vat with a minor fix certificate from my electrician.
- I will be making a complaint to the relevant board for this supplier and contractor.
- My electrician is going out to have a look today.
- My time has been wasted. Report was completed on 31st and i am still waiting on full details and Evidence on what the issues were.

52 emails later I got EICR
Requested a EICR through OpenRent which ultimately provided TFS. It's been an absolute battle to get the EICR.
You'll wait days for an email response, at some point James was on holiday, no communication or automated reply was setup and I was waiting for over a week to get an answer.
He sent someone else to come and sort out some issues, I had to check their work and ask them to redo part of the cabling as it was poorly done. I cleaned up after them.
Eventually I got the EICR cert and it wasn't signed on the last page. I requested it to be signed and was sent an EICR with a comment about a washing machine socket which had nothing to do with my property.
Eventually it got sorted after 52 emails. Unfortunately this has been a very very very painful and stressful process. I wouldn't recommend.
Did not Attend, doesnt respond
I booked TFS for a Consumer Unit change and EICR. Despite confirming multiple times with James, no one showed up on the scheduled day, and I received no cancellation notice.
My repeated calls and emails went unanswered. Eventually, I received a text from +447500986509 stating that James was busy and asking me to text him. I did so but again did not receive a reply. Later in the day, at about 5 p.m. , I got another text from the number claiming phone system issues, which was surprising since I'd reached both the company and James's mobile.
If TFS was too busy, I wish James had been upfront instead of wasting my time. This no-show has left me in a bind, unable to meet my deadline for the work. I strongly advise against using TFS.
Avoid Avoid Avoid
Appalling. Made me pay upfront on the basis they're "a small business" (which I agreed to) and then disappeared after carrying out the assessment, without providing my certificate. Then failed to answer calls or reply to emails. Also charged me £240 for 15 minutes work prior to that.

Cowboys.
Booked via OpenRent. Refused to update a certificate to meet the needs of my letting agent. I had a follow up EICR from another provider who found a serious fault. This was 3m after the original certificate from TFS. Could have been unrelated, but seems from these reviews that it was likely overlooked during inspection.
