Scam company
Scam company. Although verified by Trustpilot, I don’t believe any of the reviews about Eleven and Stone to be legitimate. Just look at the dates. Eleven and Stone has stolen £10K from me. This is my narrative: In April 2025, I contacted Eleven and Stone to retrieve funds that had been blocked following an investment I had made with an online investment company. The Eleven and Stone website looks legit. The company is registered at Companies House, with an address in London, SE1. The Trustpilot reviews look pretty positive. I filled in the online enquiry form, giving details of my lost investment. All communications with Eleven and Stone are online, via email or text. No telephone calls. Even when you ring the number of the Eleven and Stone website, you are put through to voice message. On 24th April 2025, I was copied into an email from Eleven and Stone to Tommy Lee who had been allocated as my consultant in charge. On 12th May Tommy emailed me. In a long email, following a “deep forensic investigation”, he had tracked down the money I had deposited including profits. He said he could retrieve them. The total retrieval fee was £5,800. The money would be sent to a UK bank account (HSBC) in the name of Wayne Chandler. This was not a crypto account. It is a UK account, based in the UK. Stupidly, I thought this would be ok. I paid the fee to extract my original investment and my profits. On 6th June, Tommy informed me that my money had been retrieved but that it needed to be sent to an anonymous offshore account in the Cayman Islands. To open the account, in the Butterfield Bank, I needed a deposit of 5000 euros (£4200). This Butterfield account would be in my sole name. I thought if I didn’t open the account, I wouldn’t get any money and that the initial fee of £5,800 would be forfeited. I was stuck. So I sent the £4200 to the same HSBC account, along with personal details (DoB, next of kin, passport, selfie). On 24th June, I received an email from James Tibbetts at the Butterfield Bank, telling me that my account at the Butterfield Bank was open and had received a deposit. James gave me a login and a password and if I wanted to withdraw any funds, all I needed to do, was to email him. I logged on and low and behold, the funds were in the account. I emailed James to make a withdrawal – no answer. I’ve received no further correspondence from James Tibbetts. I have since contacted the London branch of the Butterfield Bank, providing a copy of the email that I had received from James. Butterfield Bank don’t recognise the account or James Tibbett as an employee. I wrote to Tommy Lee but got no reply. I have been back in contact with Eleven and Stone. I have received several emails from someone called Nathan Wood. Nathan tells me that Tommy has been away on an "urgent sabbatical" but would be in contact with me shortly. I received that email on 23rd July, a month ago. I’m still waiting to hear from Tommy. I have received a number of emails from Nathan asking me to be patient. My last email from Nathan was dated 18-08-25. Since then, nothing. I have now reported Eleven and Stone to Fraud UK. I have informed my own bank who are contacting HSBC and have opened an investigation in to the account held in the name of Wayne Chandler. My bank has confirmed that this is a scam. I have learnt a hard lesson. I accept I have lost my money. I don’t want anyone else to fall victim to this heartless and exploitative company. My advice to anyone considering to use the services of Eleven and Stone is don’t. Like me, you will lose your money.
