Make the effort to be fair

Faultless Company and faultless car!
I subscribed to a brand new Renault Zoe for about 9 months from September 2022 onwards and today I will be handing it back.
From start to finish it has been a faultless experience. The only reason I am handing the car back is a change of circumstances in the family where I no longer need a second car.
Communication has been perfect with Elmo's team members being helpful and quick to respond to any issues.
If I need a second car again I will definitely be returning to Elmo.

Very happy so far!
Very responsive to emails an online chat in run-up to rental, and happy with the response provided. There was a slight hitch with delivery in that it was moved to the next day due to lack of drivers and I wasn't informed of this until I'd chased it up, but again the responded quickly, and though it was a bit annoying to have wait around for nothing on the original delivery date, luckily it didn't cause me any bigger issues than that. So far, very happy with the car provided - a superb way to test the waters on EVs and charging etc, or if looking for something more cost effective than a longer rental or shorter than a 2 year lease!

Great way to get into EVs
I've had an excellent first time experience with Elmo. When I started my monthly the prices were lower and you could do a monthly rental whereas now you can only do a bi monthly lease or a yearly lease, which to be honest isn't as convenient. The prices have also gone up now as well.
However, I am reviewing my experience and overall it has been excellent with great customer service.

Be aware
They will charge you an enormous amount when you return the car. In my previous leasing experiences, company are always quite lenient on issues when you return the car. This is completely opposite with Elmo. They will try all their best to rip you off. I am in the process of fighting with them but please be warned.

Not as good as it used to be
This review is about my second Elmo car I’ve rented. The first one was a good car and brand new, but Elmo did mess up and collected it unannounced over a week early last time (albeit they did refund, but not compensate me). This time, the same car is more expensive (I guess that’s inflation), but the delivery experience and condition of the car are far worse.
Firstly the car arrived late, not by much, but it makes it a pain to organise your day. The condition of the nearly two year old 14k mile car was not as I expected - no car mats, a big scrape on the front bumper, no app access (a total pain), small chips and marks and a not very clean interior. The car feels like a 4 year old car and is therefore a terrible deal for the price I pay PM. If the car was new and immaculate it’d be good value, but for a tatty one, not great sadly.

Warned me at 4.45pm the day before…
Warned me at 4.45pm the day before planned morning delivery that the car would not be available.
Then delivered a few days later another car and at the wrong address.
Still no offer of compensation received.

Wonderful from start to finish
The Elmo team have been wonderful from start to finish. I sadly gave my car back this month as my personal circumstances changed but the whole process was smooth, easy and enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic idea to try an electric car…
Fantastic idea to try an electric car without committing to a long lease. Delivery and ordering process was easy. After trialling for a month I’ve now committed to a longer term subscription. I find the cost extremely reasonable in comparison to lease costs (no deposit needed).

Car was delivered from Elmo last week…
Car was delivered from Elmo last week and loving it so far.
Everything has been so easy from initial booking process through to delivery.
The delivery driver was great and explained all the features of the car.
Only had one or two minor issues which Elmo are looking to resolve (neither have impacted my use or enjoyment of the car).
My first EV and wanted to try one before commiting to a longer term lease, so the subscription model is ideal (and not much difference in cost anyway). Can highly recommend Elmo.
