SCAM!!! This is not a Canadian company, despite how it is presented. I placed my order believing I was supporting a Canadian family-owned business, which was misleading.

I returned the items due to poor quality and cheap materials. Despite the very high return shipping cost (over $80 CAD), I chose to send the items back out of principle.

My return package has now been in transit for over two months, and Emma & Sophie Boutique has not issued a refund. I was even asked to contact Chinese customs myself, which is unreasonable.

I am sharing this experience to warn others to research companies carefully before ordering, especially when a business’s location and return policies are unclear. Their responses so far have been vague and unhelpful.

My experience is similar to others here. I ordered a dress thinking I was buying from a local Canadian merchant in Toronto. The dress that arrived was very cheaply made and not at all what was advertised. I later discovered they were shipping from China, so clearly not Canadian.

When I contacted them for a refund, they offered a 15% refund and said I could keep the dress (when I made it clear I had no interest in keeping it).

I was able to get a refund through my credit card. It took some back-and-forth - the fake merchants tried to fight it. It was shortly after I received my credit that I also noticed the Emma and Sophie website is gone. As another reviewer pointed out, they’re now Poppy Elegance (misspelled as “elengance” in the URL and on the website header). Same items, same site design, same fake “70% off sale” and “30-day money back guarantee.” They’ve barely attempted to hide anything.

Stay away.

I have had the exact same experience a the folks below. This is not a Toronto-based company, the quality is terrible, they offer an exchange where you still pay 30% so you are paying them even more money.

I submitted a dispute with my credit card like others. When I was on the phone with them, I noticed they closed their website. When I looked at my Shop app, I noticed they changed their company name to Poppy Elegance.

The Poppy Elegance website is essentially the exact same copy, images, and items as Emma Sophie Boutique. Stay away!

I purchased items from Emma & Sophie Boutique after seeing it advertised as a Toronto-based store. The products I received looked nothing like the photos — poor-quality fabric, chemical smell, and different design.

When I requested a refund, I was told to pay for international return shipping to Zhejiang, China, even though the company advertises itself as Canadian. They refused to provide a prepaid label and instead offered small partial refunds.

This business misrepresents its location and products. I’ve filed a Visa chargeback for “goods not as described.”
Be cautious before purchasing.

They are scammers. Received my dress that I thought I was buying from a Toronto store only to realize it was coming from china. Upon receipt the product was defective and poor quality. When I tried to initiate a return per their website, I was completely ghosted despite numerous emails and follow up. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM

I placed an order thinking this was a store I had visited previously in Toronto. On the website there were claims and strong indicators that it was a Canadian, local Toronto, mother-daughter owned, 20 year old business. There were claims on the website of serving over 7400 "happy" customers and false reviews and Trust Pilot scores. I placed an order at 8:25PM MST Sat, Sept 20. After reading the fine print on their return policy, I was suspicious. I then read the actual Trust Pilot, Reddit, FB and other reviews and within 40 mins cancelled my order requesting a refund, as they claim to have a hassle-free 30 day refund policy. No phone numbers, email only, and customer service hours of 9-3 EST on Sunday. I emailed twice with proof my order had not been processed by them (entered "Track my order" and it did not exist in their system), questioning their practices and demanding a refund. Three times I was refused (twice on Sunday and once on Monday) and told I would have to wait for my order arrive and at that time could return it. The store confirmed my order on Mon, Sept 22 and processed it after I explicitly requested to cancel it since Sat, Sept 20. Today (Sept 23), I noticed the website has been changed removing references to "mother-daughter" and the picture in "About Us"; 7400+ happy customers, reviews and Trust Pilot scores are gone; any reference to Toronto removed and "Close Down" changed to "Clearance"; confirming their knowledge of their deceptive, and illegal, advertising practices. Please DO NOT BUY from this store!

This is a scam! They are not out of Canada but China...I fell for it and got ripped off. the items I received were no where near the quality that appeared on their website and was next to impossible to return. DO NOT order for them.

I wanted to buy their "premium wool blend trenchcoat" but it was strange that the fabric percentages were not listed.

I emailed them to find out, and there was an elusive replied. I emailed again asking for specifics - another avoidant reply. As others have stated these are cheap fabrics sold at a premium.

From the beginning of this purchase I was suspicious if the whole thing is real at all. I finally managed to talk to someone via email and when I finally received the products, my disappointment with the quality of the products was huge. I was interested to return the items but in case I decide to keep the products I was offered only 20% of my purchase. Unfortunately, it is very complicated and expensive to return the items to China so I decided to keep them and probably donate.
I learned the lesson and will never do the purchases like this and certainly not with this Boutique.

The ring I purchased did not look like the one advertised. Certainly not the quality that I was expecting. I am so disappointed. I wish I was able to share a side by side photo for others to see.

I wish there was a zero star, their products are not the same as the pictures, there is not 7000 reviews, totally deceptive, the whole site looks like it’s in Toronto the customer service shows a ‘pin’ for Toronto it’s Chinese crap total crap.

Item didn't match description or picture. The site says they ship from Toronto but they actually ship from China. I am currently trying to get my money back without no extra cost.
