Iv always brought the beef flavour as my dog has serious allergies all he can eat is beef turkey fish
The cans are colour coded.
So I know red label is beef.
Sadly my dog eat it.
And after been repeatedly sick and tummy bloat. I checked the can
They have changed the red label to beef and chicken.
Tiny writing on the side of the can.
Wrote to ecore.
Not happy with response.
Just letting others know if your dog as allergies check small print
Do not buy Tuna with Mackerel pouches, or simply any Encore products!
I found a large shard of bone in a pouch and had I not seen it as I was putting the food into my cats bowl, he could have eaten it and I dred to think what could have happened.
I was past from pillar to post after complaining to the multi million pound corporation and they offered me £3.50 refund 🤣 I told them to send the refund to the Cats Protection League which they have failed to do. This is not a pet friendly company.
My cats are so fussy, and then we found Encore. The only one they really like is the canned Tuna fillet and Shrimp. But within the last month it appears that the cans are no longer full and the weight is being made up with liquid. Why not just put the price up instead of cheating us with the content and putting the price up.
We started buying Encore from Sainsbury’s for our 9 year old Jack Russell about 8 weeks ago. It looks good and smells ok when we open the tin and our dog loves eating it. She’s normally a fussy eater but she cleans her bowl every time. But…. Since she began eating it she has has started throwing it all up the following morning at least twice a week, plus she has started getting constipated and not going for a few days, then having diarrhoea, all coinciding with her throwing up. We’ve tried every flavour available in Broth, Jelly or Pate and it’s happening randomly with all of them. We’ll put her back into her old food and monitor her. If she improves I’ll be taking the Encore back to Sainsbury’s with a letter of complaint as it’s obviously dodgy and not fit for a dog.
Gave my cat the salmon variety, cost me £17. She has been throwing up ever since. Not happy
I have a 19yr old cat very fussy eater hates meat.... I buy this thinking OK give a try as it says its got broth as my meow only likes the juices an leaves the meats found not much broth if any in one packet I added little water as it was just dry she liked the juices left the rest.. Had test done at vets mouth all good no teeth issues it's just her il keep trying her with this food an see but please your packets need broth in them like u say it has
My cat loves encore cat food’s taste and smell. She likes it way better than other premium brands. However, everytime she has a bit of encore cat food, she has diarrhoea. Because she likes the taste and smell so much, we have tried different types of meat from Encore but the result is all the same. We even tried introducing encore bit by bit but that doesn’t help either.
My feline friends are obsessed with Encore! It’s amazing quality and apparently very tasty! They especially love the tuna fillet treats!
for some odd reason my cats have both been eating encore cat food and are getting strange coughs and sometimes sick afterwords, and bad breath, when we stop giving them the food the cough and the sickness go away, very strange and odd.
im stopping giving my cat the food, ill be looking further into this. any illness my cat has and if its related to eating there product then ill take this further .
I'm so glad my cat Trixie and I could finally agree on the best dry food for her. She absolutely loves both the Chicken and the Chicken and Salmon varieties of dry food. The ingredients are impeccable compared to 99% of other brands on the market. Trust me, Trixie and I have tried many of them. Trying to find something good for her, that she won't just pick around was hard. I don't want my cat to be disgusted everytime she goes to eat, or gets a tummy ache because of grains. Encore is great. No grains, no junk. 80% real meat, veg and vitamins. The wet food is also very good quality. Not brown stinky mush. I feed her the pouches as a treat. The only thing is I wish they did more varieties. Like Dental, Sterilised, etc. I dread that they will stop selling it. The dry food I can only find on Amazon and Pets at home. The wet food is also available there and many supermarkets. I like you get 800g bags so it stays fresh. Yes it's more money, but it's all she eats. I wouldn't want to eat cheap food everyday, why should my baby? Please don't stop selling it and please add more variety to the dry food range. Customer service was also helpful when they had been out of stock everywhere one time.
I recently purchased a small box of 5 fish sachets of cat food because Sainsbury had none of the usual food I buy.
I got them home and went to use them, I wrongly assumed, because of the size of the box, that they would be the usual size of 85g. Guess what, they're not!
They are only 50g and at a cost of £3.80 definitely not worth buying. Firstly because both my cats looked at me as they stood back from their bowls with a look that said, "what's this muck"? Rightly so too, the food looks a bit mushy and a high percentage of the weight is actually liquid, but let's not forget, this product is made as cheaply as possible in an Asian country such as Thailand and probably costs a few pence to make. Not only that consider the carbon footprint of this cat food!
My pooch loves this food especially the chicken with vegetables etc.
The bowl is cleared instantly, it looks & smells very tasty & she has had no ill effects with this food even though she’s had problems with other dog food in the past.
My cat has eaten encore for years. I buy in bulk because it’s cheaper. Cat refused to eat latest batch but was happy to eat from separate box purchased from local supermarket. Explained this to their customer relations. They phoned back to say their tech team had checked and there was nothing wrong with that batch. They didn’t ask me to send them pouches for testing and basically didn’t want to know. Moral of story don’t buy this food in quantity.
My dog has been eating Encore foods for about 6 months but the last three tins of the Beef with vegetables have had pieces of gristle the were as big as a d esertspoon. He's only little and just so thankfully he didn't choke. Won't buy this ever again.

Dear David,
Thank you for contacting us in regards to our Encore cat food products range.
Our dry food is produced in the UK and uses 100% British Chicken approved fit for human consumption. This contains 75% Chicken and no grains or cereals and comes from carefully vetted farms. Our wet food is canned in Thailand. This is a human food facility which has been awarded grade A by the British Retail Food Consortium in Food Safety. All the fish we use apart from the salmon are from the sea. We do not use and have never used any ingredients from China. We do not package our products and we do share facilities with other companies.
Below I have composed a list of our meat sources;
Chicken – UK & France
Salmon – Scotland & Austria
Rabbit, Pork and Trout – Austria
Mackerel & Tuna – Spain
Lamb – Fresh from Wales in season & out of season from New Zealand.
