ENGIE left me with a broken heater and no help to fix it
ENGIE proposed to service my gas heater and it seemed like a good deal. The technician was apparently from COZIE and he left the system turned off and broken. After 15 years without any problems with the system I now had no heating and hot water. I contacted ENGIE and asked them to repair the damaged system and they said that I had to contact COZIE despite my contract being with ENGIE. COZIE didn’t want to help me and asked me to contact Viessmann the brand of my heater. Two competent technicians from Viessmann came quickly to see the heater and told me that it was clear that the technician from COZIE was responsible for the damage and that they would not repair it without approval from COZIE to cover the cost of a new burner (around 3,000 EUR). COZIE and ENGIE told me many times that they would get back to me but after 41 days of waiting without them ever getting back to me I wanted to have hot water in my house again and heating for the winter so I had a new heating system installed.
What makes me most angry in all this is that ENGIE still charged me for the service, send me a mail telling me that the service was successful and asking if I was satisfied, and on top they send me a certificate of the service despite that it was never finished, and the heating didn’t work when the technician left.
You should never use the great offer of ENGIE to do the service, if something goes wrong like in my case then they refuse to deal with it as it was done by someone else, in my case COZIE, that you have no contract with. Next step will be to try to get my money back from ENGIE for the service I paid for that ruined my heater.
I can recommend using Viessmann instead (if you have that system) they were very professional.
