Site requires unnecessary and intrusive data - then sends SPAM which hadn't been requested.

I saw a role of interest on Engineeringjobs, but couldn't apply for the role without providing details that were intrusive - and I suspect in breach of GDPR.
I didn't want an account, but had to.
The site also stated it would share my CV with another site, yet couldn't use my CV from that site.
Next day, I had an "alert" email which I hadn't signed up for.
Therefore, I terminated my account.
I had written to complain but so far there has not been a reply.
