Made an order on the 21st of January. Got some of it on March 13th—no reply to emails or calls. This place is the worst ever. Do not order from here

Ordered on 1st of February, still waiting today.... No answer to emails regarding a refund.

Stay clear of this company, if you can call it that.

I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering with them. Worst experience ever!!!

I only received a small part of my order, one of the items had expired already, and the order arrived too late. I am still waiting for the rest of my order (been close to 3 months now). They do not respond to emails and just ignore you.

Again, do not order here it will be a waste of money and nerves.

Such a shame, I really wanted my Quorn products. I have been waiting since 6 January and nothing arrived? I finally spoke to Max on 1 February. He was so helpful and assured me the goods would arrive. However, I have called numerous times and emailed and not one response! Zero for customer service
I have now requested a refund and my bank are investigating..

Pure scam, no answer by mail, nothing delivered.

update: extreme long delivery but order was delivered successfully after months, complete, with all products largely still withing best to eat date.

UPDATE: Was contacted a few days ago with them asking to make amends. Now I see a comment here which does not mention the delays, missing items, no communication, and when some did arrive, it was out of date! Appears to be a play down on the whole situation.

Total Scam!

Stay clear from them. They are quick enough to take your money but absolutely terrible at communicating. Only received half my order, other half been waiting nearly 8 weeks. No response to emails but Managed to reach someone by phone who assured me it will be sorted, now when you call, the first few times was an answering machine but now after a few rings you get the message that the number is no longer connected. Reported to Swiss Consumer Protection and I have also started money collection process via legal means!

Super friendly and is able to source specific items requested.

Avoid like the plague !!
This company is a scam and I will be reporting them to the police. Ordered on Nov1st , payment taken straight away , I have since been sending them numerous emails as nothing has been delivered yet …. Called earlier this week , I was told that my order was ready to be sent and I should receive an update and my order very soon. Of course no update whatsoever as yet and no order received. I doubt I will ever receive anything… Will try to chase for a refund yet but not being very hopeful. They are plain liars and scammers . So frustrated I put my confidence in this company!

Incomplete order took nearly 2 months to be delivered and still no refund for the missing items!!! They also often don't answer your emails (and I only sent them reminders once a week and was always polite :o). Extremely frustrating experience, never again!!!

My experience with the English Grocer was great. They ordered a product for me specifically that I had been looking for and couldn't find anywhere else! Customer service was so forthcoming and friendly. All in all a really positive experience.

Delivery was split into two with the later consignment arriving with several weeks delay. The goods were packaged into flimsy carton boxes and left open at the entrance to our home.
In spite of all, the English Grocer team kept me informed and in the end succeeded in delivering the goods. Many thanks.

I placed an order in December 2022 and never received the shipment. I understand that there might be delays, as the website mentions that orders are placed from the UK based on availability. However, despite reaching out via email at the time, I was only told to wait as my order was "being processed."

Now, two years later, I received an email from the company, which prompted me to log in to my old account. To my surprise, the order I placed still shows as "on its way." I tried calling the contact number listed on their website, but I couldn’t get through to anyone.

This experience has been extremely disappointing and has left a very bad impression. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

I made my order in July and since the confirmation said “do not contact” if the items had not been fulfilled yet, I didn’t. Finally had enough and emailed them in November, the order was fulfilled and delivered a month later. The items were all here, but my drinks were in a different size, and the candy had expired already (a few days so still edible). I emailed them about the drinks and was given store credit (yay), but I didn’t want to put even more effort in and ask about the expired candy since I only realised a day later.
Overall, a tedious process, but I’m grateful to have finally received my items.

i was concern about the delivery, took too long. i wrote an Email explaining my concern, the reply was quick, explaining the reason for the delay.

Happy to say i received my parcel this week, it was well packed , all my items were included.

I placed my order in January 2024 and paid CHF 226.58!
I never received the order. At first, they responded to my emails for a while, but then all communication from their side completely stopped. It’s been almost a year since I placed the order, and I still don’t have the package nor a refund. I am extremely disappointed!

I ordered items in October and the updates indicated that they were on the way to Switzerland. But then at the end of November I sent a request for update and my order suddenly was being repicked in the UK. I had read the reviews and saw that there were many people who have problems and many who are completely satisfied, so the eternal optimist in me went ahead. I have no idea if my items will ever arrive. Bitterly disappointed. Order No. #3006

Increased from 1 to 3 stars. They rang me and asked if I wanted a refund, but I would rather have the goods. They arrived 2 weeks later. So thanks for chasing up guys. You might have delays and need to push but they get it to you

I was disappointed in the long delivery times and lack of proactive updates regarding this. I placed my order on 3 October and it arrived on 30 November after chasing for updates twice. On the plus side, communication with customer service was very prompt.
I was also unpleasantly surprised that after such a long wait, some products arrived with Best before dates on the day of delivery and the day before (29 and 30 November, crumpets and muffins).

Good communication and delivery of Christmas treats

Communication and updates on order was poor. Missing items when it was finally delivered and I received someones elses package which was (and still is over a week later) left in my care to sort out. Unfortunately I wont be using this company again

Awful took more than a month to come and one product wasn't even what we ordered went in the bin let us down every time will never use again.
