Horrendous experience with Enviroskip…
Horrendous experience with Enviroskip Hire and do not recommend.
My in-laws, aged 70 and 77, hired a skip advertised as holding around 80 bags of waste. Before booking, photos of the driveway were sent over and we were assured access would be fine.
When the driver arrived, they were then told the skip wouldn’t fit on the drive, so it became a “load and go” arrangement instead. The driver himself was polite and pleasant, but it was never clearly explained that they would still effectively be charged the full skip price despite only a small amount being removed. They literally thought he was doing them a favour and taking the rubbish.
In total, approximately 15 bags and a single bed frame were taken — nowhere near the amount the skip was meant to hold.
What made the situation far worse was the attitude from the director, Lisa, when we raised concerns. The conversation was dismissive, unpleasant and completely lacking in professionalism or empathy, especially considering this involved elderly customers.
Had we been told from the start that the skip may not fit despite the photos provided, or that only a fraction of the waste would be removed while still charging full price, we would never have agreed to proceed.
Charging elderly customers full price for taking such a tiny amount of waste feels completely unjustifiable and considering this involves old aged pensioners, is absolutely shocking.
She eventually refunded £150, effectively charging £200 to take a car load of household waste, bedding, clothes & paper, which we could have quite easily done ourselves, for free!!!!!!
I would strongly advise against using this company.
