Totally rubbish!
Totally rubbish!! Customer service is non existent. You have to jump through several hoops before you get any sort of answer. Took six weeks to get an answer to an email. Now they are disabling the smart capability of the charger because of government guidelines they knew were coming into effect before I bought the charger. Now I'm left with a brick. Criminals!
If I could EO 0 Stars I would.
If I could EO 0 Stars I would.
Purchased a charger from them in March 2022.
They say the charging requirements were changed in June 2022 so they are now discontinuing the smart charging features of the charger I bought.
I can't believe that they weren't aware of changes 3 months prior to introduction as these things aren't brought in over night.
A product at this price point is not fit for it's intended purpose based on it's advertised features when it is effectively rendered useless after 3 1/2 years unless i get up 12.30am to plug my car in and 4.30 am to unplug it benefit from off peak charging
Disgusting product support, disgusting customer support. I can't rate this shower of money grabbers low enough
Dropped right in it
Dropped right in it. What a shower these guys are and so dismissive of their customers. Discontinuing the mini pro 2 and leaving you at the mercy of anyone who wants to charge their car at your expense and also stopping you charging through the night. DO NOT USE THEM, they will do the same with the other models later.
Terrible customer support
Purchased an EO Mini Pro 2 about 2 years ago (product about 3 years old) and company recently sent an email notifying that the charger and the app would no longer be supported as of 30 November 2025. Means no way to lock the charger or to schedule charging and no path to upgrade. This company doesn't understand what being customer centric means.
EO are bricking their devices intentionally
I've just received a mail from EO saying they're disabling all smart functionality on my car charger which means I can't even set charging times. Anyone can pull into my driveway and just charge their car and there's nothing I can do. Outrageous practice.
They could setup a small local web backend for us to change settings but would obviously rather take the lazy option and shaft their customers.
I’m extremely disappointed with EO
I’m extremely disappointed with EO for abruptly pulling support for my charger without offering a proper solution or transition path. When I purchased the unit, I expected long-term reliability and service — not to be left with an unsupported device just a few years down the line.
What’s most frustrating is the lack of communication and transparency. There was no proactive outreach, no upgrade options, and no genuine attempt to retain me as a customer. It’s incredibly frustrating to invest in EV infrastructure and be left high and dry by the manufacturer when technology or platforms shift.
EO promotes sustainability, but dropping support for functioning chargers directly contradicts that — forcing customers to replace hardware unnecessarily. This kind of short-sighted approach damages trust and undermines confidence in the brand.
I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next EV charger — one that prioritises long-term customer support and values loyalty.
EO Pro Mini 2 home charger installed 4…
EO Pro Mini 2 home charger installed 4 years ago. Regularly 'trips out' when its meant to be charging on the cheap electric tarrif overnight, meaning car is uncharged and disrupting our travel plans. Repeated visits from engineers replaced every possible part and the fault remained, EO ignored the issue once it hit 3 years and claimed it was out of warranty.
Now I get an email from them informing me that they are 'retiring' the EO Home App which is used to set the charging schedule from November 2025, so its going to be just a dumb wall socket.
UPDATE - there is now an option to replace EO firmware with opensource alternative: search minceheid/openeo on GitHub. Turns out the chargers have a RaspberryPi mini computer inside... so it can be reprogrammed!
EO have been a shambles since…
EO have been a shambles since my original purchase. Support has always been difficult to engage, the app has been full of bugs. But today’s announcement takes the biscuit, removing all functionality from the charger, I no longer will be able to schedule charging or change the charging schedule of the device. Totally in acceptable!
Downgrading smart charger to dumb
After less than 4 years EO are switching off all smarts from our charger, it's now about to become 'dumb' with all support and app access revoked, seemingly just to save a few quid.
Dropping support for older chargers - beware
Received an email today to inform me that my EO Mini Pro 2, which is less than 4 years old, will no longer be supported after November and the app will cease to function.
Supposedly the charger isn't "smart" enough for current regulations, but I don't understand why they can't continue to support it. Instead we're left with a dumb charger and no app and we're at the mercy of a 3rd party repairer if things go wrong.
Wouldn't touch EO chargers with a bargepole based on this experience.
Bought an EO charger 2yrs ago
Bought an EO charger 2yrs ago. It was launched just 3yrs ago and they have pulled the app so I can’t use it. Shockingly short product live -BE CAREFUL
EO are removing a load of features of…
EO are removing a load of features of my charger after circa three and a half years of owning it, citing updated UK regulations. I’m not convinced. I wouldn’t buy EO again due to poor support here. I expect a charger to remain fully featured for longer than I’ve owned this one. Losing the ability to set the charger to charge at the cheaper overnight rates rate is a key feature, and not something I expect to have disabled owing to updated UK regulations.
It´s pretty unbeliavable that this…
It´s pretty unbeliavable that this company is decommisioning two smart EV chargers (EO Mini Pro 2 & EO Smart Home App) that are installed in thousands of houses in the UK, and when you call them to offer them a solution for those customers affected by this issue, they don´t even want to listen to your solution. Well, I guess not all companies care about their customers...
Never again. Awful product and customer support
If you are considering an EO EV charger, stop right now and look at other more reliable options.
EO announced today they are discontinuing support for the EO Mini Pro 2 charger, which they continued to sell even as new legislation that rendered them obsolete was coming into force. No warnings, no guidance shared. Discontinuing support means no mobile app, which means this formerly 'smart' charger has been left a basic socket on the wall, stuck to always on with no way to manage or monitor the device. I contacted them to ask what options were available to support customers who needed to transition to a new device to keep smart functionality, but was met with cold disinterest. The agent clearly had no interest in reading my messages and made me repost the specific question (which was right at the end of my previous message anyway) and even then posted a blunt "yes and what would you like help with?" even though this was obvious from the question. It quickly became clear that they would not help in any way.
When I noted that it seemed a bit unethical to have been selling a product that was guaranteed to become obsolete? "I cant comment on this".
Be so careful if you are considering buying an EO product, as I would never trust them again.
Truly appalling customer service
Truly appalling customer service. EO have decided a brick a 4 year old product. Online support is maliciously useless. Calling the support line for this appalling company gives a poorly recorded voice saying to use the online chat i.e. there is no support.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Disappointed - Mini Pro 2 chargers not supported anymore
Purchased and installed Mini Pro 2 less than 3 years ago. App was already full of issues and bugs, charger works well. Today, email sent by EO informs that Mini Pro 2 is no longer supported and app will be disabled which means my £800 charger essentially becomes "luxury" wall plug ...
They deprecated their chargers
They deprecated their chargers out of the blue because some obscure UK law. UK isn't even in EU anymore and I don't know why I should care, but the larger problem is that they turned a somewhat nicely functioning EV charger into a piece of junk overnight. Stay away tbh.
Poor experience with customer service
Poor experience with customer service. Chat ended with generic statement following announcement of product end of life and end of support
Smart charging functions disabled
Just been told a charger I bought in January 2023 doesn't comply with the UK Smart Charging Regulations that came into force in June 2022. All Smart functionality is to be disabled by EO, resulting in a charger that anyone can use, any time for free electricity. Tried to use support and was told "everything you need to know is in the email" and so no ability to talk to anyone about this. Waste a perfectly good charger, helping to destroy the planet and pay full price for a new one then? Not from EO, that's for sure.
absolutely useless ....didnt even have…
absolutely useless ....didnt even have the courtesy to try and do a live chat...just sent me an automated standard answer and ended the chat
