Everything said here before - loads of Junk mail and telesales calls, some at 7am in the morning!

I contacted one of the firms from whom I received a junk mail catalogue asking them to remove/delete my details and found out the firm responsible are Epsilon.

Suggest we all contact the ICO to investigate.

Would have preferred no star! Have received many catalogues from various firms, never asked for. Found out many bought my address from EPSILON ABACUS, a marketing firm in Teddington.
Was given tel.0208943 8049 by the catalogue sender (it is an ext., main nr.is ...8000) called ext.nr. which straight away goes to recorded info of what to do to be removed from their mailing list.
SO THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

I am absolutely fed up by the wastefulness of these companies,who sell AND buy private addresses. Many claim their material/products are from recycled sources and environment friendly. Should you receive any mail not asked for, please return: mark it with
RTS - UNSOLICITED MAIL.
It will be effective as the Post Office will charge the original sender the cost of the postage of the returned item.

What a bunch of illegal scum. I too have been receiving unsolicited mailing brochures via this company. Surely this is illegal. Just received another brochure in the post today. Im going to make a formal complaint to the relevant organisation today. VERY ANNOYED

So fed up with receiving numerous catalogues in the post from fashion companies I've never heard of - it's been ongoing for over 6 months. Received two from 'Sosandar' this week, who told me they got my details from 'Abacus'. I've also been receiving catalogues from Boden and Hush. I am extremely careful not to tick/untick relevant marketing boxes when shopping online. All these catalogues are such a huge waste of resources (paper/ink/post) and as a result of the bombardment, I am now completely put-off buying from any of these companies that are members of Abacus. Search "Removing your details from the Abacus Alliance" and send them an email, I'm currently waiting for a response.

Trying to stop thousands of bloody catalogues being delivered to me. All from abacus apparently.. but you cannot speak to anyone in the company to stop them giving out your details illegally.. How can we contact them to speak to someone about this!., any ideas anyone?!
*** googled long and hard and found a random page to ‘unsubscribe from their lists and a phone number! Was not easy to find but we’ ll see if this works!

Over the last 6 months have started to receive several catalogues from companies who have received my details from this company without my permission. The amount of paper resources being wasted is incredible as I simply bin the catalogues as I would not buy from companies using this technique to gain customers. The boss of this lot is bkennedy whose email address Is as his name @epsilon.com. Let’s bombard him personally with loads of emails and also other contact forms on their web site.

Nasty piece of work. I've never heard of them until I started receiving unsolicited spam in the post with my full name and address from different companies. So far three companies have confirmed that they got the data from Epsilon Abacus – there's no way that random sharing of your address with unspecified 3rd parties is legal. I'll be reporting them under GDPR laws. It would be very interesting to know where they got my details from in the first place.

I seem to be receiving many catalogues with a Customer Number quoted when I have NEVER been a customer. Having contacted one of these companies they tell me that the brochures are sent on their behalf by Epsilon Abacus' to their members. Presumably they acquire
addresses from other members lists. Isn't this illegal?

Why do I have to waste my time trying to cancel these catalogues that I don't need? Also they are charging their members for sending these to customers of other members - also I presume illegal as companies are not supposed to share the data..

They EXPONENTIALLY INCREASE THE PROBLEM OF SPAM MAIL in the post. To me, they are an unethical enterprise. They get out of legal dispute by claiming that they do not acquire consumer details but get them from their members. Epsilon Abacus deserves to be shut down by consumer protection laws and environmental concerns.

Just received two catalogues I never asked for and guess what - both have the same reference number on which is from Epsilon Abacus. I complained initially to the companies who 'sent' the brochures to be told it is nothing to do with them and contact ABS.

They seem to be sharing my details all over the show! I am very careful never to consent to marketing, let alone data sharing. Somehow I am drowning in brochures, almost daily, for all sorts of stuff. I hate direct marketing - it’s such a waste of paper! Every retailer I contact to complain says the same - it’s from Abacus co-operative which is formed by companies sharing their customer contact details and order histories. Shocking! I’ve contacted epsilon Abacus twice now and not yet received a reply. And still the torrent of brochures continues. Clearly some unscrupulous retailer has obtained my details and decided to share them without consent and it seems impossible to find the source or control access to my data now!
Hey Epsilon Abacus - how about asking me if it’s ok for you to hold, process and share my details? The answer is no by the way.

Just received a brochure from Boden, who inform me that Epsilon Abacus have given them my details. I'd never heard of Epsilon Abacus and how dare they give my details to another company? I've now sent them a message on line telling them to remove all my details and stop sending them to other companies.

I have started receiving anything up to 5 brochures a day, just because I once bought a garment from one of the associated companies. I read with horror that there are 100s of these companies. I believe this is a breach of data protection law and if I knew how to start an action I would do so. I might start finding out if the deluge doesn't stop.

Have been receiving marketing material from various companies which helpfully told me Epsilon Abacus supplied my data. Funny thing is I never have consented for my data to be shared EVER nor have I ever given my consent to receive any random junk mail. How on earth they got my data is quite worrying, even more concerning that they are sharing it with various companies willy-nilly,without even asking me if this is OK! This type of data harvesting should not be allowed and I think that all companies who hold personnel data should be made to contact all members of the public whom they hold data on to make sure consent is given. An absolute disgrace. To top it all, I'm finding it very hard to get through to them. I have eventually managed to get an email address for them and have now requested to know what information they hold on me, where they got this from, and whom they've shared it with. Lets hope they can do the decent thing and actually get back to me with all the information I've requested. I'm not hopeful having read some very bad reviews on them...

This company disregard GDPR policy, they have been selling customers details before and after 25th of March. Very poor
