I have an online Forex operation..
I have an online Forex operation... and I am generally predisposed to assume the best, and be an optimist in any relationship. I am a person with pretty good technical savvy, for managing Windows server systems. EQServers.com hosted a bare metal server they provided with Windows Server installed. I configured all my application software, which is an online Forex trading platform. During operation, which seemed really good, I experienced a few unexpected shutdowns of the system. So I scanned and found I was infected by a Virus "WannaCry" and related items. After trying in vain to remove it, I asked them to re-image the system from scratch, which they did. Early on, I found the virus was there, so I asked them to re-image again, which they did. I was very careful to scan for Malware immediately, and found 3 items on their "clean' system. IN EVERY CASE, they blamed me for the virus, claiming their installations are perfect, and the only possibility is that I introduced the virus. When I "fired them", they they started accusing me of ABUSE, there my computer was allegedly sending SPAM emails to their corporate headquarters, etc... WHAT ??? Apparently their "infected" installation was spamming them when I had NONE of my software on the system !!! So, I am assuming they have a technical problem where they are imaging systems, unintentionally, which already contain Malware on them... Surely, they would not do that intentionally. But then they blame everything on the customer, since we don't have the power to prove them wrong. I believe I clearly proved them wrong, by showing Malware at the fresh installation. BUT... they found an excuse to BLAME ME again, since I had installed BitVise SSH Server, one of the most secure in the industry, so they ASSUMED the Malware had come in via that route. This was BEFORE I had done anything to the system except to scan it for Malware using MalwareBytes Root Kit Scanner, finding serious Malware already there. SO, in summary, I had to terminate their services and find another service provider. I do not have time to argue with their technical staff, and not have a functioning system for days due to this issue. I am NOT in the business of SPAMMING anyone, but the Malware certainly would be... I'll bet their Business Managers would get upset if this gets to the top of their organization, but I've already moved on...
