Equine Register is the leading provider of global biosecurity, identification, registration and lifetime traceability services to the equine industry and governments both in the UK and internationally. We are Defra’s trusted partner in delivering and managing the Central Equine Database (CED) and National ChipChecker on behalf of the UK government and devolved administrations. The CED holds over 1.5 million equine records from the 81 UK Passport Issuing Organisations. We work nationally and globally to provide an eco-system of digital solutions to obtain lifetime traceability, global biosecurity and identification across the equine sector. Equine Register also provides specialist expertise and data tools as part of the Livestock Information Programme (LIP). The LIP database holds 60 million records of cattle, sheep and pigs farmed in the UK and we are contracted to provide the conduit to populate the date entering the system.
