I ordered this book from Biblio.com who sells this company's books. Ergode listed the book as in "good" condition and never mentioned that the books was missing the dust jacket. The spine and cover... See more

Really bad company to deal with
Really bad company to deal with. My book didnt even ship from them. Some guys house in CA. Arrived poorly packed and damaged. Good luck getting a refund. You will get a run around.
Ordered a leather book via AbeBooks
Ordered a leather book via AbeBooks, advertised as in Good Condition. It had a rectangle of leather cut out of the front cover 8cm x 3cm where the previous owner's name (presumably) had been embossed. No indication of this in their description. No apology. AbeBooks eventually refunded when photograph of mangled book provided. Dishonest and Very Poor service in this instance.
Book ordered through Abebooks never sent
Book ordered through Abebooks never sent; no tracking information (not even mail label created) in USPS; got refund from Abebooks after inquiry and seller tried to say it got lost by USPS.
Avoid this seller at all costs
Avoid this seller at all costs. I ordered two books via abebooks, described as "New" and "Like New". The good news is that they arrived in exactly two weeks, having crossed the Atlantic. The bad news is that one is an ex-library book and the other has dog-eared corners and has clearly been dropped at least once. They were not cheap either. Laid in one book (the ex-library one) was a sales ticket from Ezekial Books of Manchester (or Londonderry), NH. I infer that Ergodebooks (based in Texas) acts as a kind of online clearing house for booksellers all over the USA, no doubt taking a hefty percentage, and have not seen the books they advertise. (How else could they list over 9.7 million books?) Repeat: avoid at all costs!
USA to UK in perfect condition!
I purchased Peter Guralnick 'Last Train to Memphis & Careless Love' box set (published 2000) from Ergodebooks (USA). I had searched for this product and they were competitively priced with reasonable international shipping costs. They had three 'used' in stock and I made a note on the order requesting the set in the best condition as it was a gift. My order was delivered in the UK within three weeks in perfect condition; the books show no signs of ever being read (no creases). I am absoloutely delighted.
This company seems to be some kind of…
This company seems to be some kind of scam site; I'm curious how it works - maybe just some percent of customers are unable to navigate refunds for undelivered books and the profit from this is enough? - but for my biblio order I believe they never had or shipped anything, though marking it shipped and keeping my money for about a month until I worked through biblio customer service. They repeatedly claimed though it waould be extremely difficult and time-consuming they would send me tracking - never happened - and nothing ever arrived.
Excellent service (after book lost in mail)!
Last Januari I ordered a book at Ergodebooks on Amazon that would be shipped from the USA to the Netherlands. It was already the end of June that I realized I had never received this book.
Amazons website said that it was now too late to ask for a refund. But I contacted Ergodebooks, and they immediately replied, explaining that they had sent the book the day after my order, so it probably got lost in postal transit. They arranged a full refund including shipping costs. I didn't expect that anymore, after Amazons message.
So, great service from Ergodebooks! And excellent communication too!
Asked for a refund but they refused
Asked for a refund because they sent me a different book (and it had much water damage). but they refused. Never buy from them again.
This company is a 100% scam run by a…
This company is a 100% scam run by a scummy couple from India (living in Houston). They have ZERO merchandize to sell....every order you place with them is drop-shipped from another seller off of Amazon. In other words, they will accept your order and THEN find a cheaper source to buy the product to have it sent to you. In my case, the "cheaper product" was actually a photocopied book that I paid more than $80 for. My complaints were simply ignored and I had to eventually dispute the payment with my credit card company.
Highly recommended.
Excellent experience and great value for money. Twice we have bought from Ergode Books from the UK and our books arrived less than two weeks later, exactly as described. The customer service is also very good. Highly recommended.
I have to admit that I became suspicious, However
I have to admit that, having had no info on posting or tracking, I read many of the reviews here and contacted them, no response so contacted Paypal,. It was within two days of contacting Paypal that the Israel Bible I ordered, turned up, Brand New and package well. I have given them 4 stars the only negative (hence not 5 star) was the lack of contact, however I have my Israel bible and am a very happy Chappie In the UK
Avoid
Avoid, avoid, avoid. I wish there were reviews with no stars. I clicked on the link to buy a book and was so grateful that my PCs security stopped a trojan, avoid, avoid, avoid
Excellent - Thank you!
I ordered ‘the vampire chronicles’ in limited edition leather hardback. Price was good and my order arrived today and in perfect condition shrink wrapped and well packaged. I am based in the UK and the customer service team told me that my order would arrive in 2-5 weeks due to shipping via USA. It arrived sooner and then Royal Mail delivered in on 48 hour service.
Good job guys. 5 stars.
The website is the first clue ...
The website is the first clue .... it doesn't even work properly.
Then the book I wanted: "If the price seems too good to be true, then it probably is" AVOID
Not providing track & trace
Not providing track & trace on international shipments of relatively expensive books ???
Wake up.
This ain't stone age.
Be warned.
Don't buy here.
Excellent service
Great experience. Book arrived safely and was in excellent condition. Adding to the positive experience was the speed in which the seller responded to a question. Could not be happier and would definitely recommend them.
If possible, avoid them
I received half of my order, lost time and money with them. I ordered two books using Biblio. One of the books arrived on time and in good condition but the second never did. Support said that they sent it a day after my order and promised a tracking number but they never sent it. After going through Biblio support I did get a refund but not for the full amount since they refunded the other item that was priced lower, making it less than the correct amount. I did let them know this but they just simply didn't care. If you can use another vendor it will be the smartest thing to do.
Complete SCAM and FRAUD
Complete SCAM and FRAUD. They're unfortunately using Abebooks as an unwitting accomplice in their criminal activity. I ordered a book from them which they advertised as "new". After the order was placed (and they had stolen my money) they emailed me that the book was in fact "used". Offered me a choice of accepting the book at a reduced price, or cancelling the order for a full refund. I IMMEDIATELY responded with the order to CANCEL. They responded that they would do so, and to allow 24-48 hours for the refund to be processed. It has now been 120 hours (five days) and their only action has been to evade the refund by sending multiple emails that they cannot cancel the order until they've been notified that cancellation is indeed my wish. I have responded to EACH one of their emails with a repeated mandate that the order is to be cancelled and a full refund issued. They continue to evade. And by the way, don't waste your time trying to call the phone number they provide. Scammers never answer the phone.
Great service. Far exceeded expectations
I have to admit after reading the reviews on here I was worried. However, I received fantastic service. Firstly I ordered through Ebay so if anything went wrong, I would be covered. The book was quite rare, expensive and only available in the US. The book was scheduled to take two months to deliver but was received within three weeks, much to my surprise. It was well packaged. The book was listed as “good” condition but actually seemed almost “new” upon opening; and in excellent condition. Just a note, the Ebay tracking service never updated but I was able to track through the shipping company. Based on this experience, I would definitely buy again and trust the company!
First class experience
I must have been lucky as I had an excellent experience with this company.
