Excellent team at the crystal 2000…

Excellent team at the crystal 2000 hotel. They went above and beyond expectations and were great with the kids. Nothing was a problem and the staff there are a real credit to Esprit.

La Rosiere chalet Dahlia

La Rosiere chalet Dahlia. Super location with balcony overlooking the slopes. Chalet rooms are spacious but a bit tired. Our chalet hosts worked really hard, were kind and attentive. The chalet has an unusual layout. We had the family room above the lounge/kitchen. It’s noisy for kids to sleep in with no soundproofing to prevent noise from the kitchen. That meant late to sleep and very early wake ups when our hosts came to prepare breakfast which was less than ideal. The other rooms were out of the chalet main door and up a flight of public stairs which was not great if you had young children. Take a baby monitor if you book either of these rooms. They seemed quieter but not sure I’d have wanted to leave my kids to sleep there while I was down in the chalet having super.
Esprit staff in resort were all friendly approachable and helpful. A super week skiing.

Alpe d'Huez - Hotel Mariandre

This was our first Esprit Ski holiday and it exceeded all our expectations. Childcare team and services were well planned, they worked very hard to keep everything running smoothly and keeping the children entertained and occupied - it really took out a lot of worries off the parents who could then enjoy their time on the piste. Baby listening service worked well - it meant we could enjoy our dinner without having to check on them every half hour as our baby monitor didn't work. The food was good and the hotel offered several options on the menu to choose from. The only feedback would be to start breakfast earlier. It was often chaotic because it started at 7:30 and the Sprite Beginners needed to be dropped off at 8:30. If you wanted cooked breakfast, it'd take time to arrive. We felt quite rushed and stressed as we had to get the children fed as well as feeding ourselves within the short time. Then dashed off to get them fully dressed and geared up for the lesson. A bit more time at breakfast would elevate the problem. Other than that, we really enjoyed our first experience with Esprit and would recommend it to friends. Thanks to the team in Hotel Mariandre for all their hard work and cheerful attitude!

Disappointing stay at Val D'Isere.

Disappointing stay at Val D'Isere.

This was our 7th holiday with Esprit and we can only say that a lot of the holiday did not live up to previous trips. The quality of the food at Ducs De Savoie was very poor indeed. The bar staff were great, the rest of the hotel staff less so, childcare brilliant as usual. Both kids moaned about the ski school doing what they already knew and not advancing them (we did bring this up on several occasions). Let's not forget about the flights, 2pm is a silly time for outbound flights with children, it would have been a late arrival anyway, but then we were delayed and had to wait for a minibus from Tignes before finally arriving after 9pm. On the return journey we were delayed for another hour without any reasons, then had to wait 1.5 hrs for the bags to get through at Manchester. Titan airlines are obviously cheap for a reason!

On the whole it appears that Esprit have been steadily pinching the pennies over the past few years, though this isn't reflected in the price of the holidays, and the quality is really starting to suffer.

First class

First class . Even better than belle Plagne. Lovely ambience in the hotel, all staff great - childcare staff couldn’t do enough for our 4.5 year old and 6 month old baby - happy kids = parents skiing!!

Food same as previous years and such a shame no freshly baked French bread and croissants but this is a tiny issue in an otherwise perfect holiday. Already booked for March 2019

Their flight parter from Manchester in…

Their flight parter from Manchester in 2018 is poor at checking in and leaving on time. On our return we were unable to get our luggage for two hours as it was stuck in the hold, however there were no updates/staff available to assist - completely unacceptable with young children.

Esprit make family holidays easy

We stayed in hotel Alba Meribel. Perfect location for the slopes and children’s lessons. Hotel a bit careworn but very clean. Staff all fantastic. We would go every year if they had nursery facilities

Another fabulous time with Esprit

We again had a fabulous time with Esprit, and their staff were exemplary, as usual. The accommodation had a great location, and an equally good pool and sauna in the basement. The only minor disappointment was the size of the bedrooms and the bathroom at Altitude 2000. It was so small we had to squeeze sideways around the bed, and the bathroom was very small with a rather unpleasant smell coming in through the extractor all week. We reported this but no repair seemed to help.

Wonderful ski holidays for families

Wonderful ski holidays for families. Adults get to enjoy skiing and dinnertime, safe in the knowledge that children are well cared for and having a fantastic holiday themselves! We met lovely people, were well catered for and great ski guiding and were offered help whenever we needed it.

The chalet and our room were perfect.

The chalet and our room were perfect. Plenty of space for the family in the room. Great food for both adults and the children. Baby listening service was a bonus. Immediate access to and from the slopes was ace.

Fantastic holiday!

Our children loved the nursery & ski school. Staff were very efficient, helpful and caring. Children get to burn off lots of energy & enjoy the outdoors. The ski/ snow school was great. It was wonderful to hit the slopes with the knowledge that the children were enjoying the snow too.
Having a large swimming pool was a real bonus - a great way to relax after a full day of skiing. The outdoor hot tubs were fun!
The food was excellent - lots of things to choose from. Afternoon tea was very good. We hope to visit again soon.

Good but not great!

Childcare excellent and I can not fault the ski lesson ratios, snow rangers, snow club and general enthusiasm of the nursery team, however the holiday overall did not meet my expectations. The chalet was ok but lacked child friendly features - fire guard, toy box, safe bunk beds.....small features but would have improved our stay. I did not plan on having to sleep on the top bunk because my daughter rolled off it!

The hosts were great, working with limited resources and dated equipment....drying up with loo roll, borrowing items from other chalet hosts who were bustling in and out of the chalet. When faced with problems - broken glass, broken cooker, booking errors etc there was no management or guidance from 'higher up' to help the guys in the chalet resolve and manage situations.

A great holiday but sadly did not meet my expectations.

Overall a great experience with…

Overall a great experience with friendly staff, a variety of options and great to bring the kids on a snow holiday while they learn the very basics of skiing. It can be quite exhausting trying to get the most out of the holiday from day to day. The costs can mount up if you include a variety of activities for yourself and the kids.

Usual fabulous experience with Esprit…

Usual fabulous experience with Esprit that we have had for the past 9 years. The only thing dragging the review down was the fact that the Crystal 2000 hotel rooms were a bit dated & in need of an upgrade compared to other 3 star Esprit accommodation we have stayed in. The staff, service, childcare & food were awesome.
