Last played the old course 10y ago & it…

Last played the old course 10y ago & it was always a great layout & good greens, played it this afternoon & the new owners have changed the lay out of the course & not for the better. The guy on reception advised that the greens have been diseased but are now now under control & 70% better than they have been. Well I can advise that the greens are nothing short of shocking, my god what have they done to this fantastic golf course. There diseased because they’ve not had money spent on them, clearly haven’t been scarified or top dressed or holotimed for a long time. The greens & overall condition of the course are scandalous, what a shame that the owners have totally neglected the most important thing & that’s investment on the golf course. If you’re thinking of paying a substantial green fee to play don’t bother, the course should be closed it’s that bad. It’s embarrassing & the 700 odd members but be seething & leaving in there droves, shame on you for turning what was a wonderful golf course into a field. If your thinking of playing it, don’t bother save your money & go play a course that’s worth the money & where they invest the large amount of money they receive on maintaining a presentable golf course for golfers to enjoy. Note to owners, sell up & let somebody who cares take over what was once a fantastic golf complex.

Myself and a group society played golf…

Myself and a group society played golf on the New Course today at Essendon Golf Club , 17/04/2026 . The greens were absolutely shocking , my god , there are better council courses than this . The green fee for non members is £85 on a Friday , yes £85 . This is a total joke , the golf club should have a serious long look at this , the greens are disgusting . My home club is Aldenham Golf Club and the greens at our club are not perfect , but are 100 times better than the absolute garbage we played today at Essendon . Stay clear gents and lady golfers , you have been warned .
