Natural ink maker employing materials gathered from the landscape of Essex, England. Demonstrations and workshops run throughout the year, employing traditional practices, many uncovered during the artist's own academic research. Using vintage tools, from his private collection, students will obtain experience through an authentic work practice seldom available on this type of course. Gain hands-on experience using mechanical hand grinders, pestle and mortar, glass mullers, et al, and experiment with mark-making using a variety of improvised tools. Participants get to make their own bottle of ink which they are free to take home with them.
