I wish I could give zero stars Based on my experience, I would have no expectation that this insurance company will meet their obligation when you have a claim. We have a brand new 2026 Subaru that... See more

I know a thing or two

We've had to call on Esurance more than once, and our most recent accident involving a deer was further proof that this company cares about their customers. Within an hour a wrecker was picking up the car and a rental was provided with no questions or hassle. It took longer than expected to repair the damage and so the rental lasted almost 3 weeks. From drop off to pick it was no hassle, no paperwork, just friendly Esurance staff calling frequently to follow up on the work progress and to see if I needed anything. I could not be happier with an insurance company than I am with Esurance. Great rates and service like that. And at over 50 I've been with a few providers so I know a thing or two.

Reported to Department of Insurance

I was an unfortunate victim of auto theft and my car was deemed salvaged. I went through the process of negotiating a settlement offer when they decided to go behind my back and renegotiate a worse deal with my bank. Totally unethical process and I am proactively in the process of filing this with consumer protection agencies.

Unscrupulous Company

I have to say that I have never had a poor experience with esurance and have had them for years. That said, long story short. I had hoped to file a claim because I got a crack in my windshield from driving on the freeway. I have never filed a claim before therefore did not know much on how all of this worked.

After spending 30+ minutes on the phone with the claims people they mentioned at the end of the call, "you may want to see if this will increase your premium" or something along those lines and that they can not answer this question for me.

I called the other department and they said they cannot guarantee that this would increase my premium or not. BTW I had to pay out of pocket anyway, in other words, insurance was not covering anything.

So, I then called back the claims department and asked that they cancel the claim. They said that they would and told me "your claim has been canceled and your claim will not be filed, and your premiums will not be affected".

Now this was all on 9/19. I continued to make an appointment at the suggested location. I made a new appointment and got my car fixed and paid out of pocket and not through my insurance.

Now, Monday morning on 9/24, I check my email and see that Esurance has wrongfully filed a claim and is now "not guaranteeing that my premiums will go up". This is unscrupulous at best and thievery. I am on the phone right now, wasting hours of my time to get this now untangled, very disappoint and horrible customer service. Would check elsewhere if you are looking for insurance!!!
