Not contact and bad processing of accident!
Not able to get in contact with the office or road assistance in accident, something is said in Greek, but not in English, not an easy saturation when standing i the middle of an accident!
Late afternoon we finally got in contact with the main Greek office, they initiate the process for getting assessment. As a customer I'm in full confidence that everything is in order.
When returning the car everything is wrong, the local office apparently no information about the report, everything needs to be restarted again, 2 hours(!) later we can leave.

Disappointing experience
Absolutely disappointing experience. After incredibly amazing holiday we were charged £85 for plastic wheel cover which has been lost during driving on main road. We have proved that all other covers could be easily removed by 2 years old child using one finger, as they were not secured with any plastic strap or something else. Also the other client with the same car had exactly the same problem on that day, and they still blamed us customers for lost parts attached on clips to the wheels moving 80km/hour... Pathetic experience. I also would like to add that they offered to charge 70 euro in the office, and finally charged £85 from the deposit, regardless a full protection.
Wonderful experience!
The whole experience with renting a car with Europcar on Zakynthos, Greece was wonderful. The team was very friendly and understanding (they let us have the car slightly earlier than booked and allowed us to return the car slightly later than booked due to our flight times, which was very kind of them). They even met us at the airport and showed us the way to their office.
The car was great, clean and in good shape, which was perfectly enough for our one-week stay on the island.
Definitely recommend Europcar services to others!

Europcar Kinsen Chania Airport is an disgrace and should not be a Europcar franchise!

At least I had made very detailed videos, I had to get very assertive before these Muppets agreed it was already there.

Feels like a scam
Feels like a scam, which was planned when we rented the car.
First, agent offered an automatic car for any extra amount we would be willing to pay. He started at €50, then eventually went to €20. We refused, since we had already booked the cheapest and this was what we wanted. Then going outside to get the car, agent said that we'd get an expensive automatic anyway.
Agent said car had no marks and in the bright sunlight we saw no marks on a white car. He took pictures, which were not shared with us, but we did accept the car. Agent also said we should already plan at least 20 minutes when returning the car for paperwork. As anybody who's rented a car knows, a return takes maximum 5 minutes if there is no issue.
We had no issues with the rental but upon return, a small dent was pointed out to us without any scratch on the right door.
When we asked to see the original pictures and compare, it was not possible to actually compare since the dent was too small and would be impossible to see in the original picture anyway unless a zoomed in photo had been taken. We were then charged €500, of which €469 for fixing the dent on the more expensive car we were given.
Best avoid.

If you rent the car without adding insurance, (nobody at the office reminds or recommends to do so) they will find a scratch and charge 400euro.
Stay away! Very Disappointing
Also, even though they mention that they have an office at the airport: they Do not! They pick you up with a shuttle bus(which was late 30 minutes) and take you back(which was late again 30+ minutes )
SCAM ALERT
SCAM ALERT. Chania Airport. Would give 0 stars if I could. They cancelled our booking claiming we were late, lying about our arrival time, even though I had quoted the flight number when booking the car through booking.com. Booking.com tried to deny responsibility via 3 or 4 different people until I quoted that europcar guarantees a booking for 1 h after the actual arrival of a flight when the flight number has been used. We were looking for their supposed "shuttle service" that picks you up from departures for at least 30 min running up and down the airport. We asked other companies, airport staff, even the police and NO ONE knew where they were. No one would pick up the phone so we could ask them to pick us up. Eventually I saw the van and chased it down the road myself. No info on booking.com as to where the van stops etc.
Staff on the ground were completely clueless and unhelpful. They had one card machine that blocked my card and I was there for more than 3 h trying to sort out the situation. They claimed they could give us the initial car and had me pay full insurance, only to say 5 min later, they could not do that and the money had been lost!! Evenually we had to book a completely different car. When asked what time to rerurn the car they told us 2 h before the flight. However that was before 7 when they opened. I asked multiple times and they said 7 in the morning. When we arrived 10 to 7, a man there claimed that they had a right to charge another 60 euros because we were early!!! I rented a car before by europcar in Italy with no issues. Sadly this is the last time I am using their service. This was the absolute worse, dodgiest service I have ever experienced and it ruined our whole first day of holidays.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. STAY AWAY! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
DON'T take an Electric vehicle!
Who sends a customer out with an electric vehicle with only enough charge for 30km? No help/instructions on how to charge, everything in Greek. AND why does it take 1 hour to pick up a pre-booked car. AWFUL company
Great experience...
Great experience with this branch of Europcar.
Friendly staff who went through all the paper work quickly and explained what I needed to know. Car was ready and waiting for me and they even fitted the Child Car seats for me that I'd requested(which doesn't always happen). Car was clean and just what we needed.
Hassle free drop off which was great.
Only note is that it's not inside the terminal like I expected so I ended having to ask where to find them. They are just outside the terminal across the road, literally a 1 minute walk.

We rent a car in Europcar via Booking.com, in Crete / Heraklion airport. we paid in advance with full assurance for one week. When we came, the representant of Europcar could not take our CB card as it is a Debit card, which is, what most of the population in the world have. The guy was really rude and unhelpful. Then he said, " Well I can make an exception and take your Debit card if you pay full insurance", but when I told him we already did, he changes his mind and said that finally no it is not possible, which it let us very confused.
We tried to cancel on the Booking.com website, impossible. We tried to call, impossible. Or it said on the website it is possible to get the money back if we cancel before or at the moment of taking the car. Next morning we finally get someone on the phone, but it was too late! The girl was very unprofessional, said she will give us the money back for the insurance and it is "an exception" but finaly she hung up on us and did anything! We heard anything!
Also, we talked to an other representant in Europcar / Heraklion airport, a woman. She was sweet but she lied to us. She said, "its okey guys, you will get your money back because we did not confirm your booking with us so it will automatically got cancelled! Do not worry, wait and at around midnight you will get a mail with the cancellation." Well, it was a lie. But at least she helped us a bit and said to not worry and go to rent a car somewhere else, they will accept your card. Which was right. We took a car in HERTZ and it was just perfect!
From now on I will never rent a car in Europcar and never use Booking.com. And everywhere I can I will let know people how these two are FAKE and SCAMMED US! RUN AWAY from them!

Efficient and professional service
Was a little hard to find the shuttle but they were there as promised within a few minutes with a sign to collect us. A very friendly welcome from the girl that handled the admin and a free upgrade as well to a brand new car. On return I was expecting a hard time because of some of the other reviews but it was equally trouble free and efficient. I would recommend and will use these guys next time.

Could not fault the service from Europcar. Easy to find their offices just opposite the airport, 100m from arrivals. Friendly service and thorough inspection of car prior to signing agreement.
No pushiness to take out extra insurances, and not necessary if you take out your own cover anyway.
I had a flat battery one day in Kos town and they sent out assistance and had me back on the road in around 45 minutes.
Returning the car was hassle free, allow an extra 5 mins as they inspect the car in detail.

I made reservation for a car with Europcar, Athens air port.
I had problem with my credit card, so it was impossible to take a car.
Mr. Konstantinos (Kostas), did what ever it was possible to help me, and eventually he found a good solution for me to take a car.
He was amazing with a lot of patience, desire and willing to help, despite the workload.
I want to thank Kostas from the bottom of my heart.
He gave me an excellent feeling that I had chosen the right rental company.

Best to stay away. as they have a conflict of information on there website and emails about if you can use debit and credit cards. So you can pay online on debit card and it say on the email bring the debit or credit card you payed online with. but you cannot pay the deposit when you get there on a debit card (and they say it in the small print) so why you letting people pay for it online on debit then. sound like you need to sort your stuff with your
misinformation as it seem to be happening alot. make it more clear on your europcar website as you basically strees me and my gf out before the holidays started and changed me £45 for it cancel it because of there misinformation on emails and website.
But on a good note brill car hire company cross the road got a car in 20min with a debit
Rented a car from Europcar at Zakynthos…
Rented a car from Europcar at Zakynthos Airport, the agent Dimitris was so cool, very professional and efficient. The rate was very satisfactory and the procedure coming and going was seamless and fast.
The office is very close to the main entrance of the airport which is a huge plus. The car was perfect. We will definitely rent from this company when traveling abroad from USA.
