Very poor experience with Express…

Very poor experience with Express Repair. My appointment was delayed multiple times, and I was repeatedly told that the part would arrive on a specific day and kept getting delayed. When the part finally arrived the original technician could not to do the service due to family emergency, which I completely understood but I was not informed of this until I called them to follow up. Also, they do not have a best business practice in place if one of their technicians is off ill or called off due family emergency. You would have to wait for the same technician who diagnosed the problem to come back from leave, or you would have to pay an additional service fee of $100 to have another technician come out to do the service. I would call that a cash grab.
I had to keep calling myself just to get an update, and every time I spoke with the staff, they were unhelpful. The lack of communication and poor customer service made this very frustrating experience. I would not recommend using this repair service.

I paid a $1,000 deposit in December…


I paid a $1,000 deposit in December 2025 for appliance repairs that were never completed.

Over several months, I was unable to get clear updates or documentation confirming that parts were ordered or available. Communication was mostly through calls and voicemails rather than written responses.

After I followed up multiple times, I was asked to sign a revised invoice offering only a partial refund, which I did not agree to. I was also told my deposit would be void if I did not sign within a deadline.

I have since requested a full refund and filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario.

I recommend ensuring everything is clearly documented before proceeding with this company.

Update: The company has stated that I agreed to a revised partial refund amount. I would like to clarify that I did not agree to this. I have consistently requested a full refund of the $1,000 deposit in writing and have filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario.

Vlad called ahead of time to give his arrival time. He was on time very friendly and explained the error.
He came back 2 days later with the parts and completed the repair.
I was impressed with his punctuality his friendliness and communication.

Highly do not recommend

I would like to share my experience with this company so that others can avoid the headache and suffering.

Called them to service a stove top burner repair. Told me that it would be an easy repair and that they have an excellent technician with a ton of experience working on this brand. The technician diagnosed a fault burner and asked for the money upfront. Once the part came in he installed it and said it did t work still because of a different part the control board. Said its unrepairable and left. Once he left the larger burner starts burning non stop. The stove which was useable before is now a safety hazard. He didnt come back until the end of the day. They broke the stove and refused to issue a full refund. Not sure how this business operates but I would avoid at all costs. They said they can do anything to get your business, then break your stuff and charge you for parts that didn’t end up fixing the issue?

The worst part is that they said they would credit the repair if I purchased appliances from their store?! As if they wanted to up charge me more and extract more money from me. Absolutely horrid experience. In the end I paid $330 to make my stove unusable.

EDIT: The total paid was $500 to which only $170 was refunded. Express Repair stated that since they installed a burner that I had to pay for the burner + diagnosis. It doesn't matter to them or their manager that they left the stove in an unusable condition now that the burner they installed is constantly on and won't turn off unless the entire range is unplugged.

Had a technician come in because my dishwasher was not draining he arrived on time he was pleasant and he stayed 1/2 hour fixed problem but was not happy with price ......I was charged $280 for 1/2 hour work that is ridiculous and a robbery in my opinion and on phone I was told they were waiving their $99 if I go with them but I believe that charge was built in to the bill, pure robbery

WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DISHONEST & UNETHICAL

Express Appliance Repair is engaging in what I consider to be predatory and deceptive business practices. Do not trust them with your money or your appliances.

The Experience: My Whirlpool washer had a clear suspension issue (OFB error) which caused the machine to shake so violently it broke the lid. Their technician charged me nearly $800—the price of a brand-new machine—claiming a lid replacement would fix the problem. It didn’t. The machine continued to shake because the root cause (the suspension) was never addressed.

The "Warranty" Scam: When I reported the ongoing issue WITHIN the warranty period, they sent the same technician who admitted the suspension was faulty and demanded another $400. When I questioned why this wasn't diagnosed initially (since the broken lid was a direct symptom of the suspension failure), they became hostile.

Management Malpractice: The Manager is incredibly rude and lacks basic professional ethics. She flatly refused to acknowledge that the lid broke because of the suspension, treating them as unrelated issues to justify double-charging for labor and parts. Despite their own technician admitting the actual problem was never fixed, they are now trying to recharge me for labor again.

The Bottom Line: They will misdiagnose your machine, take your money for "repairs" that don't work, and then hide behind technicalities to extort more cash once they’ve already dismantled your appliance. They have no integrity, their "warranty" is worthless, and their management is a nightmare to deal with.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. BUY A NEW MACHINE INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH THESE CHEATS.

I may complain to BBB too about them.

Don't trust them

They misled me to sign the service contract, but failed to fix my oven and dishwasher within promised timeframe. They make oral promise in front of you, but don't include it in the written contract. Then they deny they have ever made such promise after you signed the contract. They even sent me a bill of nearly $1600 for the repair work they have never done.

UPDATES After discussion with the management in last few days, the company still insists that I have to pay nearly $1600. Yet they never did any repair on my appliances.
