ZERO Customer Service from Fagor HQ in Spain

We have been trying to source a carbon filter for our Fagor range hood. Various companies in Australia had tried to help us but were unable to find any info, specifications or dimensions, and suggested we contact Fagor HQ in Spain.

Fagor Spain put in ZERO effort, replying in an unsigned e-mail, “ On 25 Feb 2025, at 19:29, Atencion Al Cliente wrote:

Good morning,

Please note that we do not have any clients in Australia.
We cannot help you.

Regards”

Don't call us, we'll call you. Maybe. Probably not. Just get off the phone.

Admittedly this is actually a complaint about Fagor in Spain, however, surely there is a blanket textbook script given for their after sales and maintenance teams, so this complaint is probably an experience many people throughout Europe have had. I'm a translator and was asked to call the number provided by Fagor to their customer to speak to someone and book a boiler technician/ engineer to come and give an oil boiler its yearly revision. The young man who answered the phone was at first, reasonable and asked for the postcode. We had a brief chat about the area, although, with hindsight, he didn't seem too involved with the conversation as he asked me three times the name of the nearest town and then told me where I lived. I know. I told you. Three times. After being told there were no technicians available in this area anymore he rather considerately and professionally put the phone down WHILE I was asking if they had a number of a company they recommended. Maybe he was digging out his A-Z to look at surrounding areas and a dog eared copy of the Yellow Pages to help me locate someone who could help and accidentally hung up?... I called back. He wasn't doing any of the above when the line went dead mid question. (Shock!) I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe there was a technical issue with their phone lines. Alas, that wasn't the case. He was just rude. A further SIX phone calls later, I had been spoken to like I was an absolute moron and that I didn't need a technician for the boiler but a plumber to come and bleed the radiators. Yes, that should help with the energy rating certificate update for their home insurance. I was then told that if I didn't treat HIM with respect (none whatsoever given to me and I would like to point out that at no point did I swear or insult him aside from telling him he had very bad manners and was remarkably unhelpful and rude) then he would put the phone down. I asked him what his explanation for hanging up the two previous times was. He put the phone down. Again. Needless to say, I haven't managed to book anyone for the annual inspection as they now no longer pick up the phone. My favourite however, was when (the third or maybe fourth call just trying to get a telephone number or shop/ person recommended by Fagor) he picked up the phone and pretended to be someone else. But then gave the game away by saying he'd already told me there were no technicians available from Fagor in this area. If this is their customer service technique then Fagor needs to diverse into something which doesn't require any involvement with the public. Maybe Mars landing equipment. Although it'd probably break down and there'd be no one available in the area to fix it.

Fagor Electrics are RUBBISH

I would never buy a Fagor Electronic item.

Took over a never lived in brand new apartment about 6 years old.

New fridge freezer, electrical settings display board failed.
New dishwasher, door seal leaked and cleaning is poor anyway.
New cooker used six times in total and has faulty software on the settings board so turns off when program chosen. Two engineer visits and new cooker required as no update or circuit board available.

How can a cooker only last six operations unless it has a software clock timed to fail in a period.

The engineer even agreed it’s a joke.

Never heard of this make before and I never bought it but it’s rubbish.

Do not buy a Fagor or De Dietrich product - they have stopped supplying parts....

I bought a Fagor induction hob with the benefit of a 5 year warranty. A crack to the ceramic hob is not covered by the warranty and I have to pay almost £300 for a spare. It now appears that the company, DeDietrich has been taken over and I am told the "brand" is no longer supported - i.e. it may be over a year, or never, before the spare part becomes available. Stay away from this company and all its brands.
