Exceptional treatment

Follow up appointment today and was seen exactly on time ( which I was surprised at as waiting room was really busy) by Mr Ballaster and his caring nurses. He injected my foot and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Exceptional team of people. So happy with my treatment today.

Great experience, professionally handled.

I attended Fairfield in relation to my 92 year old Aunt who was suffering from delirium as a result of a number of consecutive Urinary Tract Infections as I felt the NHS had failed her. I received a speedy initial consultation and from the start the staff were kind, conscientious and professional from Tania and her colleague in reception to Mr Khattak the consultant. She was quickly given a diagnosis and a treatment plan that was more than satisfactory. I wouldn't hesitate to use the Hospital again.

My dad was taken in there last week

My dad was taken in there last week, ward 8 at first, first day given the wrong drugs antipsychotics, when we discovered this we questioned the doctor and they said mistakes happen and we should move on!!, and on the second day wrong drugs antipsychotics again, he was like a zombie, couldn’t stay awake until the Sunday . Then no painkillers at all for all weekend! Then 5 days later discovered he was in agony because of a broken shoulder. Any way he moved to another ward which was worse, ward 24! Completely ignored by staff, also the other 3 patients who was asking for the toilet ,and asking for 2 hours before I visited and whilst I was visiting, so sad to see patients just being ignored. The nurse also ignored me, I had to get the ward manager, some excuse about the bank holiday and no urine bottles. They told all patients they have to just wee in there pads!!! We’re is the dignity in that . My dad had 2 bed changes in 1 hour, so undignified, I suspect when I left and he weed in the bed he didn’t get it changed so quickly. He had to shout out in front of other patients that it’s too ,late I’ve wet the bed. How embarrassing for my poor dad. The nurses did not understand or speak clear English, she started talking to me in a foreign language. Very rude . She asked her colleague who also did not speak English to find a urine bottle, after 20 mins they came back with a sample bottle. Absolute Shocking treatment, it’s scary needing to go in hospital, because they honesty don’t care, and don’t understand when you ask them questions.she was getting quite irritated with me because my dad had to wee in a tiny pad and every time wet the bed. Very very bad hospital, I’d sooner die at home then rely on that hospital to help me :(

So happy with the service and treatment

We couldn't be happier with the service and treatment we received at Fairfield Independent Hospital. My husband had two facial milia cysts removed there recently. The initial consultation and procedure, carried out by Dr Memon, went very well and whilst it was minor surgery, the results have been fantastic. All healed and you can barely see any trace or scaring. We believe the cost was good value for money and worth every penny.

Extortionate prices for minor surgery!

I contacted Fairfield Hospital about a cosmetic procedure I am looking to have done due to the fact I had two operations there in the past via the NHS. Although both procedures were unsuccessful, I was happy with the overall care I had received from their staff and Doctors.
I made an appointment with a cosmetic consultant, and the appointment went well. The consultation cost me £180.
The Doctor examined me and then explained the procedure, he told me my case was a minor one, a Grade 2a is what he called it. After this he explained his costs for the operation, which were £2000; he also said the anaesthetists' costs would be between £500-750.
He then told me that Fairfield Hospital would then add their costs, which may seem expensive he said, but he explained that they do a good job. I informed him that I had been a patient there in the past on two other occasions, but sadly, they had not worked but I was happy with my treatment at the hospital.
About 6 days later, Fairfield Hospital emailed me the quote for my procedure, and I have to say, thankfully, I was not being treated for a poor heart because I nearly had a heart attack when I read the quote it said:
The package price for this treatment at Fairfield Independent Hospital is £8418.
Please note that this price is valid for 30 days from the date of this letter. The price covers the following costs: - • Any pre-operative diagnostic tests that the Hospital requires to ensure you are fit for surgery. • All operating theatre fees, including any drugs and dressings, essential theatre equipment. • The cost of any specialist theatre equipment. • My fee and the fees payable to the anaesthetist and theatre team for performing the operation. • Accommodation costs for the duration of the hospital stay. • Take home drugs for 48 hours after discharge from hospital. • The cost of providing nursing care for the duration of the hospital stay. • All post-operative wound care and attention to bandages & dressings. • Twelve months aftercare. • One clinically necessary post-operative outpatient appointment within twelve months of the date of surgery. All treatment carries risks and it is possible you experience or develop an unforeseen complication that may for example, require you to return to theatre, be cared for in an intensive care or high dependency unit, stay in hospital longer than anticipated, or be transferred to another hospital. The price includes the cost of treating any complications at the Hospital for 30 days following the date of your procedure where those complications arise directly out of the treatment you receive as part of your Treatment Package and identified within 30 days of your discharge from Hospital. Provided you have followed the advice of your Consultants and any other medical professionals involved in your Care following the procedure. This treatment includes any consultations, outpatient, day-care and inpatient treatment that the Consultant says you need and which the Hospital agrees to provide. Following your treatment, I may like to see you for follow-up appointments; it is difficult to specify exactly how many follow-up appointments will be required at this stage. As previously advised, my fees for follow-up appointments are included in the package price. The Hospital requires you to pay for your surgery at least ten days in advance of the admission date. The Hospital does not offer any form of finance or instalment plans to patients. The Hospital does accept all major debit and credit cards or transfer via your Internet Banking service in payment, details below. If you decide to cancel your procedure within ten days of your admission date, an administration fee of 10% will be payable (up to a maximum of £500).

So basically, Fairfield Hospital is charging over £5660 for this operation for the one-day stay I will be there for which the consultant (who studied for years to become a Doctor) has told me that my case is minor and also disclosed his fee of just £2000. They should be ashamed of themselves, and they are by far the highest quote that I have had. The other quotes I had have been between £4200-4500. Fairfield Hospital are double! Its no wonder so many people go abroad for treatment when you have Hospitals like Fairfield charging extortionate fees like this!
I would suggest people do their research with other hospitals and consultants before even considering speaking with Fairfield Hospital. Their prices are daylight robbery, and I can't imagine how they justify them.
