Honest Review
Honest Review, in May 2021 we reserved a plot on the Nine Corners development, building work on the plot had started and we was told completion would be October 2021. In September we were then told our plot would not be ready until December 2021 so we didn’t break the chain with our sale we decided to move into rented accommodation but at this point we had then lost the offer from the government at the time of no stamp duty so we approached Fairgroves to ask if there was anything they could offer to help us out with this (we had already signed up to £10,000 worth of extras so a discount off that would of been a nice gesture) however we received a very rude email from Vanessa stating if we weren’t happy we could look else where and they would advertise our plot to others at a higher price! At this point we knew we had made a huge mistake but having already handed over a deposit of around £36,000 we couldn’t walk away! In May 2022 our property was finally ready to move into however no snagging visit was offered, the property hadn’t been cleaned, and the snags were very obvious from day one! A gate that didn’t open fully due to the gutter pipe, gutters not connected and no drainage holes in them, damp on the walls, no privacy glass in the door, extractor fans not connected in the loft, hot and cold water plumbed incorrectly, 4 different types of mortar used on external brick work, the so called family bathroom which should of been fully tiled with a fitted shower on the wall was two rows of tiles round the bath and a shower head at the tap! Wrong kitchen worktop fitted, no rain head shower fitted (which was a paid for extra) and a damaged front door. There was more I could go on forever! In 2023 we couldn’t stand it anymore and put our home on the market we managed to sell it but most people who viewed where shocked at the state of the brick work and finish of the property or the ones who over looked that would head over to the site office and pay £30,000 more for the same property without the £10,000 of extras and they will have all the snags and delays to come! This should of been our forever home but Fairgroves destroyed the whole experience for us, they have constant delays they don’t work in phases just focus on the one that’s sold as they always run out of money! Contractors regularly turn up to remove scaffolding or machinery that hasn’t been paid for! Health and safety and security on site is a joke! They had 3 site managers in the 2 years we were they and they all walked off site. If you don’t want the stress, hassle and a poorly built house with a rubbish finish then avoid these cowboys at all costs!
