We purchased two airline tickets for Avianca Air via Fare Scan for April 1. Received 2 emails from Fare Scan, one when we purchased our tickets in December and another in February for a ‘schedule change’, which was only. 15 minute difference in the layover (no big deal). Last week I realized we still don’t have our e-tickets so I called Fare Scan and they told us our flights have been canceled. We NEVER received a cancellation email or were contacted by Fare Scan (thank God I called), even though they claim they did. Avianca canceled the flight for April 1, 2022 but Fare Scan is telling me that the next flight they can get us on is April 28! I asked for a refund and FareScan put me on hold while they ‘contacted the airline’ and then said they will keep $274 for fees and taxes from the airline. I called Avianca directly and they said ‘No’, if the airline cancels the flight it is a full refund and that there were flights available on April 2. So Fare Scan is unwilling to rebook us within a reasonable amount of time or refund our money. So now we’re out out tickets, or trip, and $274. I will call them again today and dispute this and then I will call my bank and formally dispute this on my credit card. Hopefully they will resolve this matter respectfully, however after reading the reviews, I am not very hopeful.

This is the most worst agent...they are deducting 600 dollars from 1400 dollars saying they recieved only that amount from AirIndia..cheaters...dont even try to buy a ticket from them..I stood in shops and worked and earned the money ..these guys are sitting in front of laptops and saying lies and cheating..
Today i called them again and he says $800...what is this cheating..Is this the way a person has to earn money

Would give it zero stars. It blatantly scams customers and extorts money shamelessly. Don’t ever book a ticket with this piece of trash company. And here comes their copy paste reply. I called twice and they basically just hung up on me. I wish I had looked up the reviews on this company before purchasing.

Dear UnFairScam,
I have been gone through the painful process of your refund procedure and poor customer support.
I am glad that I received the refund AFTER 2 YEARS and lessons learnt that no more ticket booking through such low grade, poor support companies.
Even if I have to pay an extra cost going forward, I'll book a ticket from well-known companies like Expedia.

This is a scam company. Please stay away from these guy if you don't want to lose money. They cheat you in the name of airlines. If you have already booked your tickest, please keep checking your credit cards for atleast one month.
Moreover the customer service is so worst that they don't even care what ever happens. They charged me for the seat and when I went to checkin at airport the seat alloted for random.
I wanted to changed my fight and checked with airlines. They confirmed that there are no penalties nor fare difference. Airlines asked me to call farescan ( sorry Farescam) and make the changes as they are the ones who booked the tickets. When I called these scammers, they asked to pay the penalty which is almost double the price . I can reached our to airlines and they did it for no charges.
Worst scammers

This is a follow up review. Fare Scan writes phoney responses to bad reviews acting as if they will respond to a problem. Don't believe them. STAY AWAY from this scam company!!!!!

These guys are fraud, charged twice on my card and no response over call or email when I am asking for refund status. I have read the reviews and most of the people are facing same issue. Let get together and teach them a lesson.
Zoro, Salmon are few of the names when I call their support number but not sure these are their real names. Total Fraud

Excellent customer service experience to help us navigate changes to travel plans due to COVID-19. Although our original tickets were limited in flexibility, the customer service representative we worked with went above and beyond to explore all options for us.

If I could rate them a 0 I would. This is the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with. I can't believe Kayak has not removed them from the platform. I have filed a formal complaint with them to do so. I wish I had read all the other terrible reviews before I booked through them. They put me on a completely different flight than I had booked. I even had taken screenshots and they refused to fix their mistake. It is run by a bunch of Indians who were are so incredibly rude and insulting. So I ended up calling the airline directly and they put me on the correct flight. Then the next day I discovered these scam artists canceled my flight because they had fraudulently put their contact info in my airline profile. They haven't refunded my money yet so I have filed a dispute with the credit card company. I have all the documentation to prove what they did. I will be also filing complaints with the BBB and State of California regulatory agencies.

Refusing to cancel an air ticket within 24 hours of booking. The cancellation is necessary due to the passenger very likely to be found COVID-19 positive! The website seems to be boogy as the confirmation details are not showing up on the airline website! Beware!

Reply from FareScan
Dishonest. They will use every tactic to delay your refund, and value your payout as less as possible. My flight has been cancelled by Icelandair a year ago but I did not receive any email notification or any information from Farescan.
Dreadful. Communications a total nightmare. Multiple layers and hellish bureaucracy. The customer service is very very indifferent, aloof and bordering on rude. Please avoid.

It’s a SCAM company. One of the worst company to book an airline ticket. Extremely unprofessional company to deal with. Some Indian folks will deal the issue with wrong American names. AirIndia cancelled the ticket and fully refunded and Farescan would not refund the full for no reason. They kept almost 200 usd for no justification or explanation says Add on fee that’s on 11.95 usd.
No one will respond from their customer support ie. support@farescan com and esclation@Farescan com. Never in my lifetime will book from these scammers. Buyer beware please don’t use this site. It’s a ScAM. You will lose money.

Do not book with farescan they will take crazy fees off your refund even if the airline cancels the ticket customer service is horrible agents kept yelling at us and wouldnt listen to a thing we said absolutely horrible

I would give 0 if I could. Worst experience ever. I paid for the flexible flight, and I wanted to change my flight. On their website it says I just need to pay for the difference, but when I called them to change the flight they wanted to charge me $450 on top of it (the original price was $261 and the new price is $750 (which means the difference is $75). The customer service was very very rude, and they shouted at me. Will never ever buy from them. FARESCAM

******BUYERS BEWARE ****** this company is a complete SCAM! They take your money and never help with refund or cancellations because of Covid! They claim it’s not there fault and you are f*ucked! This company needs everyone to come together as one and get them closed down! I lost over $1300 and wish I had checked the reviews for this scam of a company before I used them.

If I could give them less than a star I would had do it, SCAM!! I’m waiting for a refund and they keep telling lies about that the refund is coming and bla bla bla… don’t book with this company. They always trying to steal money from you like they start sayin that if you book with them You need To pay an extra for the lagguage when it’s not true , or they say that your flight is booked but you actually didn’t receive any tickets … STAY AWAY FROM THEM

One word: scammers. More words: We ordered a one-way trip that had two legs with a short layover in between. They sent us a confirmation that everything was OK, then a day before the flight it turned out that one of the legs cannot be booked. So we can't use this ticket: we can only fly half way. What did they do? They have promised to issue a partial "refund" for the missing leg, charging us for the rest of the ticket (that we, of course, can't use). On top of that, people on the phone are rude and unprofessional. Avoid.
Update: They send us an email promising to refund the full amount... then proceeded with a partial refund. We started to work with our credit card company to get a full refund, and these Farescan crooks lied in the response to stating some nonsense that was not even remotely relevant to the case. So we are now in round two, trying to get the refund for a ticket that was paid for, but never actually booked by the Farescan. Crooks and scammers. Just like most of other reviews here state.
