Scam — €1.99 fax secretly turned into a monthly subscription

I paid €1.99 to send a single fax and was then charged for a monthly subscription that I did not knowingly sign up for.

There was no subscription information in my email receipt, no confirmation that a trial or subscription had been activated, and no warning before the monthly charge was taken. My receipt simply says, “We’ve received your payment of 1.99 EUR. Your fax is on its way.”

I contacted Faxly immediately after seeing the unexpected charge and asked them to cancel and refund it. They cancelled the subscription but refused the refund, claiming that sending the fax had automatically activated a 48-hour trial.

I sent them their own receipt showing that none of this was disclosed in the payment confirmation.

In my experience, this is an extremely misleading way to sell a subscription.
