Latest delivery from Feastbox was a hit. (Two out of three recipes cooked so far.) The Spiced Chicken and Dried Lime Pilau burst with colour and flavour, one of the best I've had, and something I can recreate 'in my own time'. The Kachin Chicken Curry introduced me to a fantastic new technique for cooking chicken, one which I would not have attempted otherwise. Steamed with a spices, oil, and a little water. A revelation. This is what makes Feastbox worthwhile.

I am leaving a review about a global experience made of 7 boxes. When most have been as announced with good portion sizes, two have been disastrous. First point, the recipe cards do not give clear quantities to reproduce some simple dishes yourself (when not missing). You have to write them down as '1 sachet' or '1 pod' isn't much help. Nice trick so you would reorder what you enjoyed. Second one is the Price per Person. When at the exact same time, local restaurants offer discounts, you end up paying less to have your fish Moqueca ready made. Without missing ingredients, leading to the third point. My first disastrous experience was when I received duck breast frozen when reaching its Use by Date nearly 4 months before, probably unsold by then, and almost thawed at reception with the new label peeled off. Totally unacceptable at £9 per head. Costing about £4 for 2 from local supermarkets... Some green veg was also closer to yellowish. Received a £15 discount. Did not order for a while, received email links which were not working, so had to contact customer service to get the announced discount. The next two were fine with freebies. So I ordered the Japanese Feast, £55 altogether, for a wedding anniversary, feeling confident. No less than 6 missing ingredients including the star one of two recipes! Two missing shiitake punnets, the single carrot, half of aubergines, some mirin, cournflour... And again, the cabbage had already lived its best life. All in all the protein represented about 20 prawns and 300g of chicken for the katsu in a box supposed to feed 4-6 people. Received a baby plum tomato punnet which had nothing to do here, shiitake probably on shortage, as was the same for HelloFresh, which had at least the decency to send other mushrooms instead. Difficult to prepare Shiitake / Veg Gyoza and Okonomyaki without them... The other veg to include were the dying cabbage and the (missing) carrot. Been told over the phone I would definitely be 'compensated' after sending pictures. Turned out to be another £15 off NEXT BOX. When you have to go back to the supermarket, pay for replacement / fresher ingredients, it is a double punishment as you have to order again after a really poor experience to get something back of it. Hopefully I will not receive the typical answer 'Issue has been sorted out to your satisfaction now' as obviously not the case. But well, am not ready to sit on the £15 after such an experience, so will order again at least once. Considering the £15 compensation will be considered by the system as a discount, cannot be combined with actual promotional discount on next box... Final minor issue, have still no idea how to redeem rewards, 830 points so far... Wait and see...

Absolute shocker of a service.
1st box was ok, one of the items sent was past it's best before date (but had had a sticker put over it with a new date to cover it up!) and another recipe had a substitution that rendered it fairly bland but tried again anyway.
2nd box was a bit of a disaster: Got charged double by mistake and it took a month, several lengthy calls and countless emails and false promises of call back to get refunded which is inexcusable.
There was a missing recipe card (not so much of a problem and sorted quickly) but there were missing ingredients for which quantities were not shown in the recipe so we had to guess it possibly unsuccessfully as recipe was pretty gross. Was refunded for missing ingredients only by credit note rather than refund which basically counts for nothing as have obviously cancelled subscription. Added to that we just found lots of issues with the recipe cards, some weren't clear if values were for 2 or 4 person at certain steps and others seemed to add way too much water so the cooking times went out of the window trying to boil it off.
Pretty gutted as the recipes look amazing and so unusual and exciting. We've been using home recipe boxes for the past 18 months and I never had anything like such an awful service as we had from Feastbox. It made it such a painful process, the opposite of the convenience they are supposed to represent. We would have been totally happy to pay the premium for these recipes had they been reliable. Completely disappointed.

not as good as it looks very disappointed arrived open in a soggy box only used half the contents. Pork was only fit for dog,as smelt off when opened. Veg was on last legs. Duck was the only good thing, your cooking time guideline is way out. I worked in a Chinese takeaway. wish I had spent money on one to be honest. Probably would have been better and no cooking hassle. Wouldn’t recommend.

A fantastic experience. The ordering process was simple with an amazing range of dishes to cook. The cooking instructions were simple and the quality of food exceptional.
The family were amazed at the dishes and want to know when we'll be ordering next!

The Feast boxes are great fun and we throughly enjoyed both meals. We shall be back for more

Definitely better quality than some of the other kits out there, but they are more challenging to cook. I find the menu very limited. I would order more regularly if they added to option to upgrade from chicken thigh to chicken breast. Shame my first box came with missing ingredients but they did refund me.

Could do with a bigger vegetarian/vegan range, but I've still found at least 4 good recipes every time I've used Feast Box.
A great way to try new foods and different approaches.

Fantastic customer service and the recipes and food quality are great. Much more interesting than other meal kit services available on the market.

The Russian lamb dumplings were excellent and the amount was enough for another meal! The cucumber salad had a bit too much onion in it for my taste but overall another great Feast which helps me develop my food skills and repertoire.

Lovely food delivered ready to cook. We have it once a fortnight. All the cold stuff in an insulated bag. Very fresh vegetables, herbs, fruit. Quite involved recipes but very clear. I let my teenage son do the carnivore recipe and I make the vegan. £25-35 per box and it makes loads of food.
Little extras too - beauty products, wine, soft drinks.. A great service.

Firstly, this is a great concept. Its fairly affordable, a great way of cooking fresh food without waste and/or several supermarket trips for missing ingredients and there is a great selection of food, so avoids falling into cooking or ordering the same things each week. One of the best dishes was somehting I hadn't edited in the menu choice.
Only downside is when things do go wrong, it takes an age to sort. I had one box that was damaged in transit, which I knew about from DPD ages before feastbox did, I contacted them and was told another would be sent. it wasn't. On another occasion, a warehouse issue meant that the boxes weren't dispatched. Again I noticed first as my normal DPD notifcation didn't come. It was then a farce of the issue is being resolved, a new box is coming tomorrow, oh no, it isn't after all. Also, the website on occasions doesn't work, so you can't see or alter menu choices and the rewards page still doesn't work.
Overall I would recommend. However, always have a backup in case there are problems.

Pancakes were sodden in duck blood. Why you would pack raw meat and pancakes together I have no idea. Duck was extremely tough and cooking time was incorrect (unless you like raw duck). Customer support did not offer a refund for this horrible experience, despite me explaining how it was supposed to be for my birthday dinner, which was consequently ruined. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Great food and generally a company with good communication. Pick your preferred recipes online and then amaze your friends with delicious food from various parts of the world.

Everything was delivered in good condition, fresh, no problems. The meals were delicious, every recipe felt unique even if they had similar ingredients, it all tasted different from the last one.

Lovely meal. Clear instructions. Good to use variety of ingredients

Ordered our first box recently.
2 meals were fairly nice, 1 had no “brown bag” at all, another had half the ingredients missing.
Contacted customer services after the first failed recipe and received a discount off our next box, after the second it wasn’t worth my time contacting them to be offered a discount on another box I’ll never order.
If I order a TV and it arrives and is not fit for purpose, I don’t expect to be told I’ll be given a discount on the the next one I order.
