Overall, a pretty good experience. It was simple to get my hard drive to them as they sent the shipping form immediately. The recovery process took a little time, but the communication was pretty good from them. It was quite pricey, but I really needed the data recovered. They are a good option if other, cheaper recovery methods fail.

Fields Recovery failed to recover files from my drive and misled me throughout the process. They charged me as if all my data had been successfully recovered, which left me feeling cautious and distrustful.

Their customer service is severely lacking. It feels more like a scam; they call repeatedly until you agree to trust them with your devices. Once you do, they promise full recovery and propose a plan that includes a new storage device and the return of the original drive. However, the recovery process is not as straightforward as they claim.

They lack transparency and provide no regular updates. After emailing them four times without a response, I finally received an apology stating they couldn’t recover anything and would be returning my original device.

In short, do not trust this company if you want to avoid being scammed. Always research data recovery services, read multiple reviews, and request a detailed breakdown of their services and costs before handing over your devices.

It was a little more money then I anticipated but all my files were worth saving and the company did that

Communication was outstanding and the service was very fast.

UPDATE: I’ve tried speaking to multiple people and just get the runaround. They are sending my original hard drive back, hopefully unharmed. However, customer service rep has told me since I agreed over the phone to the working list of what they recovered, not like I could tell if they’d be readable but they also showed to have files on there. But once I received the usb stick, none of the files had actual working files in them. Now, I’m being told there’s nothing more that they can do since I agreed upon the recovered data. Absolutely DO NOT send your hard drive to this company. You will be out a lot of money with no workable data.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I filled out the online questionnaire and within minutes was contacted. Sent my hard drive in and was told it would be about a week. Sent the hard drive in on 4/28 and they received on 4/29. They quoted $1200 to recover the data off a 1 TB hard drive, which was reluctantly paid on 5/2. I was told the data should be finished copying over on the following Monday 5/5. Tuesday rolls around and don't hear from my account rep, I tried calling with no answer. Reached out again and finally talked to him on 5/9 and was told it was still transferring. Communication is severely lacking at this company. I'm then told that theres been a problem but I have not been told anything else. After calling and either not speaking to anyone or getting the runaround, 5/29 A MONTH LATER, I am told that the firmware crashed while transferring and they only have what was able to be recovered before the crash. I asked for my hard drive to be returned with the recovered data. I DID NOT receive my hard drive and received the recovered data (less than 1gb) on a 32 gb usb drive. I received MAYBE a quarter of what was on my original hard drive. Biggest scam!

Had a customer with a failed drive of art school projects. Client was stressed about losing their entire portfolio. Fields was quick to get a shipping label to me, and fast with the turn-around in recovery.

They were quick, courteous, and very helpful during our very distressful time.

From my initial request to my final request to ship back my recovered devices, the Fields data team was outstanding. the team communicated frequently about each step of the process.
When they gave me the initial estimate, they provided the file and directory structure of what they were sure to be able to recover. This helped me in my decision to move forward. I was very hesitant to morve forward but they assured me that the data would be recovered and it was!. This was my 2nd company i had an estimate from and Fields won my business.

You worked with both my son and myself to resolve the problems I had with the hard drive. When reinstalled it worked perfectly.

Had a HDD failure and they recovered about 85% from the failed drive. The advertised price of $200 is misleading as the cost was closer to $1k. However I do consider the recovery a success and worth the cost.

The technical recovery was perfect. Every file (in my case) was exactly recovered and the leadtime was as promised. I only took one star for the cost. I don't know how many hours it took to unscramble my mess, but it was a bit spendy, albiet no more spendy than the other quotes I was getting... Great team!

Price was extremely high and no refund or credit offered when they failed to recover any data from hard drive. Huge disappointment!
