Good carpenter but poor job management by Fiixer

I hired a carpenter on Fiixer to do some work at my rental flat. I explained to the man at Fiixer all the tasks that I wanted to be done which among other tasks included cutting down kitchen cabinet doors and fitting a new kitchen worktop. We agreed that I'd need a carpenter and he estimated that the work would take half a day (4 hours).

When Nik, the carpenter, arrived on his motorbike I wondered how he'd been able to bring all the tools he'd need for the job. Sadly this wasn't to be a happy surprise as he told me that he wouldn't be able to cut the doors or fit the worktop that day as he needed a bigger saw and more time. Pretty disappointing given that I'd explained the work to Fiixer, they'd told me it was possible and specifically sent a carpenter to do the job.

Rather than send Nik away, I got him to run through the other tasks (putting up blinds, resiliconing a bathroom, replacing light fittings, changing door handles etc). These tasks were all done very well and neatly - no complaints about the work Nik actually did.

Nik was very courteous and worked pretty much constantly for 6 hours. I was pleased with the work he got through and particularly how neat and tidy he was with his work. If I was rating Nik by himself I'd give 5 stars.

However, I'm rating Fiixer and these guys either didn't listen properly or just over-promised and under-delivered.

We are very sorry you were unhappy on this occasion. While all of the work was explained over the phone its not always easy to understand exactly whats involved. We are please Nik explained right away once he was able to assess the work and please you were happy with his work.

We are very sorry you feel this way but rest assure we always try to give as accurate estimates as possible over the phone but ultimately its once the Fiixer arrives they can really see the work involved.

We hope we can do better next time Sir and will happily give you 25% off of your next job if you chose to use us again.

Excellent Service

My only regret is that I cannot …

My only regret is that I cannot remember the names of the two guys who came to fix my blinds. I THINK they were Ben and Frank. Guys, PLEASE forgive me if I have got it wrong. You know who you are -and I would have you back any time.
I will definitely recommend Fiixer to anyone I meet who needs a "handyman". They were prompt, punctual, completed a perfect job (when everyone else I had asked said it was impossible) didn't stop for a break, and refused to accept any more than a very reasonable price. Thank you so much Fiixer. All the best.. (J.B)

Good processes for managing the order …

Good processes for managing the order from quotation, confirmation, delivery and payment. Reliable and timely service. Reasonable rates. No hidden charges.
My only issue was that the fitter did not bring the right colour wood and it was only because I had some white paint he was able to overcome the problem. I had provided pictures which was intended to illustrate requirements and the colour. The fitter claimed he had not seen it.
Nevertheless, the quality of the work was good and professional. Will certainly use them again.

An unusual appointment

I booked the time slot for 5pm and waited until 8pm without anyone coming. I contacted the handyman at 5:40 and he siad he was still fixing something and after that I couldn't even dial in.
I got contact after posting review and they said very sorry about this and rearranged another time and did it for free. I'm quite glad they have these kinds of customer services and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the job that handyman provided as well.

The calls you made were to the Fiixer's mobile not to the main office which is why you couldn't get through to anyone.
