Honestly one of the best

Honestly one of the best cloud storage services i've used. Fast, reliable and just works without any drama. The face recognition is on another level - I have thousands of photos and finding a specific person is now instant. Tried similar features on other platforms, nothing comes close. No idea how they did it but its better than anything else on the market. Fully trust this service with my work files. Highly recommend.

I've been using files.fm for many…

I've been using files.fm for many months now as a lot of similar websites had a lot of technical issues and very user unfriendly interface. Generally this one is way better!
However.. I'm using it to share private images and videos with my girlfriend. And since the website shows you how many views your folder got, I have serious concerns, that our private images and videos are not as private as they should be. Is files.fm aware of random people somehow getting their hands on the generated links to our folders?
Or is it just a bug that displays me a wrong number of views?

Hi, thanks for your message and for using files.fm for such sensitive content.

Security and privacy are our number one priority at files.fm.

Regarding the view counter:
The number you see is page views, not unique people. Every page refresh counts as one view. So if you open your gallery, browse it, or refresh the page multiple times, each refresh will increase the view count. It does not mean that multiple people have accessed your files.

If you are concerned that someone else might be able to see your galleries:
files.fm uses multiple security layers to protect your data.

You can:

Set a password for folder or gallery access

Share folders privately via email, where the recipient must log in to view the content

Control permissions to limit who can access or download files

Additionally, if you have a Team or Business subscription, you can access detailed access logs. These logs show visitor IP addresses and all actions performed on your folder or gallery. You can find this in the File Browser, under your folder, in the right-side panel at the bottom.

So in short: the view counter behavior is expected and not a privacy leak. If you need maximum privacy, we strongly recommend using password protection or private email-based sharing.

Deeply Disappointed with Files.fm’s Service and Support

After six years as a loyal PRO subscriber to Files.fm, paying €10 monthly for 2TB of storage and promised high-speed access, I find myself compelled to express my profound dissatisfaction with their recent service.

This month, my download speed inexplicably plummeted to a mere 1Mb/sec. I promptly reached out to customer support, anticipating a swift resolution. Instead, over two weeks, I received only generic troubleshooting steps—clearing cache, switching Wi-Fi networks, and checking VPN settings (which I don’t use). These suggestions failed to address the core issue, leaving me without access to essential files and halting my work projects.

Repeated inquiries about the root cause went unanswered. The lack of transparency and effective support is unacceptable. Notably, colleagues in Latvia reported no such issues, suggesting a possible neglect of international users like myself in Spain.

To verify the problem wasn’t on my end, I tested other file-sharing services, including WeTransfer, which functioned flawlessly. This points to a specific issue with Files.fm.

Upon requesting a refund for this month’s subscription, I received it. However, I was informed that all my files would be deleted within a month. This abrupt action, after years of patronage, is both shocking and disheartening.

In conclusion, my experience with Files.fm has been deeply disappointing. I urge potential users to consider alternative services that prioritize customer support and reliability.

Thank you for your feedback and for being a loyal user of Files.fm over the past six years. We genuinely appreciate your long-term support and are truly sorry to hear about the recent difficulties you've encountered.

We would like to clarify that Files.fm operates on high-speed internet infrastructure and content delivery networks to ensure optimal upload and download performance for all users. However, in certain cases, regional internet service providers or temporary routing issues outside our infrastructure may affect connection speeds. These conditions are unfortunately beyond our direct control and can result in reduced download/upload performance in specific areas.

That said, we regret that your support experience did not meet expectations, and we are reviewing this case internally to improve our responsiveness and communication going forward. Your request for a refund has been processed, as you mentioned, and we sincerely hope that we can welcome you back in the future.

If you decide to continue using the service or need assistance in transferring your data, please let us know — we are here to help.

Only free account works. As soon as I paid, I couldn't upload any more files!

Everything worked well with my free account! Since I paid 88 euros and then later 9 euros for PRO, it is no longer possible for me to use my account because alternately
these 3 messages prevent me from doing so:
The media could not be loaded, either because the server or Network failed or because the format is not supported.
This folder is set to "Private Access", Which is not true!
or "This file is empty"
If you have blocked my account for any reason, let me know and give me back at least part of the money I deposited.
Best regards

Seamless File Management Anywhere with Files.fm

Files.fm has been my go-to for file storage and sharing. The platform's mobile app is as efficient as the desktop version, making it easy to upload, organize, and share files on the go.
