Up graded revue. Totally ignored our requirements

I had initially given a lower rating, but the follow-up subsequent to my poor review was timely and professional. My first review was: After a phone call and two follow-up Zoom meetings, where we outlined our requirements. Our requirements were completely ignored (it reminded me of estate agents), and the only intention was to sell their fund (which had far from stellar performance) with yearly fees incredibly high compared to other funds.

Pushy. No means no.

I had an initial conversation and then decided not to progress things because I wasn't happy with the level of negative reviews on trust pilot.

I sent them a message explaining this and said, I didn't want any further contact.

I blocked the number of the person who had been calling me.

They 100% knew that I did not want to take anything further with them yet, now they are using another number to contact me.

No means no.

Well managed

I have been with Fisher Investments since 2016. My portfolio has been well
Managed and growing. Can’t complain. I would only recommend a more in depth annual review.

Absolute timewasters

Fisher Investments are absolute timewasters.

A few years ago, I filled out a form to talk to Fisher after seeing an advert for them online. At the time, I didn't have the requisite funds (£250k), so the conversation ended there.

There were then more calls from them every six months or so to see how I was doing in terms of assets. Once I hit the threshold, a meeting was set up with an advisor to talk through my portfolio. I then never heard from him again.

Cut forward about 8 months, and I get another long call from someone to talk about my portfolio. They request a meeting later in the week, which I accept, emphasising that I do not want my time wasted again. They then cancel the meeting 24 hours before it was scheduled.

I have politely requested they remove me from my contact database and I look forward to never hearing from them again.

Beware

Beware! Fisher Investments in the US have a horrible reputation. They go on about 'customized investments', they aren't. Their 'fiduciary' story is just that, they are just high pressured sales folks, they get their % no matter how poorly their AUM do. They want/need discretionary control of accounts so they can trade, it is really so quarterly they can get their fees from accounts.

Trevor Tracey called me after I emailed…

Trevor Tracey called me after I emailed him and told him I was no longer interested in doing business with Fisher Investments. He was extremely a high pressure salesman. I felt like I was dealing with a California used care salesman. But after reading the poor reviews about Fisher Investments I know I made the right decision to no longer do business with them.

Terrible Sales Tactics

They found me from targeting ads because I was downloading their documents from the internet. I was passed from the first person to a 'sales' person, who would analyze my portfolio and give some recommendations. My sales person called me and texted me often before the day of my appointment. She wanted to push to close the deal as quickly as possible. I had some annuities, so she sent me to schedule with yet another person. This is like an assembly line to me. I wouldn't know who I'll be working with. She explained the analysis of my portfolio by pointing out negative things, She talked down on me and showed condescending attitudes. She told me If I worked with them it my portfolio would earn much higher. When I asked for more specifics, she claimed she couldn't give away the 'secret sauce'. I wouldn't trust her when it she's using sales tactic of manipulation and intimidation. I wouldn't work with a company with so many red flags up front like this.

A long and productive relationship.

Our family's relationship with FI over two generations has always been friendly and attentive, informed and productive. If asked, I would have no qualms about recommending their services as top-down wealth managers for the long-term.

Just got a call from Fishe Invesstments.
Total waste of time !!!!

Kept asking me if I was looking to manage the money, I said I was open to the info.

The sales guy again kept pressing me if I am serious abt hiring a money manger.

Then after a few more questions like that I said I will check their performance. Later had enough of the selling pressure and told the rep I did not want to waste his and (ESPECIALLY ) my time and hung up. Bad experience

Horrible customer service!

Horrible customer service!
I was entertaining working with Fisher. Talk to the sales rep seem pretty friendly at the time but, I did some online research about them and it wasn’t good so I decided to go with Fidelity and then when the Fisher guy then called me back I told him I’d made my decision to work with Fidelity And then he blew up on me over the phone and hung up on me!
Talk about burning bridges!
In the meantime they still call about once a month see if they can work with me once you ever get on their call board you never get off.

They lost me the minute they lied and…

They lost me the minute they lied and said I requested more information. That was a lie. When I said as much he said well you raised your hand when you clicked on our ad. So because they have click bait on social media they think this gives them license to cold call people and lie. Then relentlessly keep going when you try to politely decline. To the point that you actually have to be blatantly rude and even then you need to hang up. Any company that operates like this definately wouldn't be trusted with my money.

My first and only engagement was…

My first and only engagement was finally answering a call after [several] missed calls and not one voice message. Once I mentioned I wasn’t ready yet, not divulging I meet the requirements, the tone of customer care/service immediately changed. I’m reading some good reviews, but I take pause when the perception is that I don’t qualify and I no longer matter; that they are no longer interested. I’ll think twice about reengaging when it’s time. Definitely look into fiduciaries and educate yourselves before investing. Just a thought.

Hard selling everyone in the same box!

Hard selling, brainwashing company that try to put all your money in a large fund controlled from the USA, with everyone else. They do not treat you as an individual they treat everyone the same!
No flexibility. Don’t use them.

Over diversified

I think the best way to describe Fisher is to say, over diversified. They started one account with $462,500 and had it in 85 stocks. I understand that they want to make sure you don't go down to much but you also don't go up to much. It feels like a bit of a scam at 1.25% fees. I had them from March through September and was up 7%. Remember the year the market just had. I just didn't feel like they were actually managing my account but rather one size fits all. My guess is that the portfolio is used for all their clients and they rake in the fees. I remember them talking about the investment team working on what my portfolio will look like at the beginning, it ended up being almost every stock I have ever heard of. Anyways...after six months they were up 7% and after ending the relationship with them and adjusting the portfolio and adding some real opportunities I am up 22% in three months.

Excellent service and great results

Really am very surprised to see all these negative reviews. I collated all of my pensions in FI and they took care of that for me, making a process very simple. I had tried before with other IFAs and it was always difficult.
I invested just before Putin invaded Ukraine and the value dipped, but nowhere near as much is other pension funds (I have my company one that I pay into separately as a point of comparison). Then since the beginning of 2024 my pension has grown by 22%, and over the whole period the growth is far higher than my company pension.
I get a call every couple of months to talk things through and can make and changes I need to make.
Overall I can't recommend them highly enough.

A Happy FI Client in the UK…

I have just read through the 1 star reviews and have to say it has not been my experience. I have been with FI for over 10 years. I initially deposited £220K then added a another £20K - that's it in terms of payments in. In 2016 I withdrew my tax free lump sum c£112K from my pension pot to put towards a new house. I didn't realise it takes a few weeks to extract the money (they didn't tell me) and it did cause me a little anxiety as it was for the house purchase, but my investment counsellor got things fast tracked so I was happy. My pension pot is now over £800K so you do the math (as they say over the pond). The fund did dive when Mr Putin decided to invade Ukraine but I guess other funds were similarly hit. I don't know what it would be worth now if I had left it with my UK based pension fund (I won't say who in case they sue me), but I am happy with FI. I recommended FI to a friend in the village and he says it was the best thing he has done. Nobody can predict the future but all is good for now. And now to try and mitigate the IHT! Help!
