Great fire

Second fire bought from this company. This time we bought an electric fire suite for our extension called Sahara. Absolutely love it easy to put together fire just slotted in easy to secure to the unit and just plug it in. Very happy 😊

FLAMME 23" Basket…

PLEASE BE WARNED: This fire is VERY noisy.

I am not impressed by Moddello's handling of this genuine problem.

Purchased the FLAMME 23" Basket Electric Fireplace in December last year.

It was intended mainly for supplementary heat, although the realistic firebed, flame effect and crackle sounds are a definite bonus.

When the fan heater is on - to my ears, and every visitor to the house(!) - it is very loud. Much louder than any other type of fan heater I've ever had.

I called Moddelo shortly after delivery to mention this, and was advised to monitor it and if I still found it loud, to contact Customer Services again.

I've just done so this week, sending videos of the fire in operation trying to illustrate the noise level, which inevitably is not a true depiction of the loudness in the room.

Apparently, Moddelo's customer service and technicians have listened to the audio, and state that the fire appears to be operating normally, the fan of which giving a 40 decibel sound level, equating to 'library quiet'.

If I was ever in a library and heard that noise, I'd be asking the librarian where the jet engine was.

However, they suggested that if I thought there was a fault, I could return the item to them, at my cost, and have their technicians look at it, at my cost. As I didnt expect to return the item I do not have the box, so obtaining that would also be at my cost. This would come to around £70+; as I've already paid over £200 for the fire, and am really not confident the fire would be deemed faulty by their technicians, as this is all so subjective - I will have to leave the issue here.

I now have a very expensive flame and crackle effect box with a very noisy fan heater. My only option is to sell it.

I fail to see how, regardless of personal audio tolerations, a noise of 40 decibels is regarded as 'library quiet'. The fire is so noisy in the room you can hardly concentrate on anything else.

I would urge you to see this fire in operation personally before any purchase, as there is no redress for this under the 'guarantee'

We’re sorry to hear that the noise level of the heater has not met your expectations. After receiving the video you provided, our team compared the sound of the appliance with the same model in our showroom and it appeared to be operating within the normal range for this type of fan heater.

Where there is a concern that a product may be faulty, we are always happy to arrange an inspection under the manufacturer’s warranty. In this case we explained that if the appliance was found to be faulty the repair would of course be completed under warranty, however if no fault was identified the inspection and return costs would be chargeable. We always try to be transparent about this in advance to avoid customers incurring unnecessary costs if the appliance is operating as designed.

We appreciate that noise perception can vary from person to person and depending on the room environment, and we are sorry this has been disappointing for you.

The Moddelo company is excellent to…

The Moddelo company is excellent to deal with. My fire decided not to work anymore and was outside of the warranty period. After contacting Moddelo they were very friendly and came up with an agreeable solution . They even sent me packing materials to enable me to return the fire for repair. They also made all the arrangements for the collection, repairs and return delivery . The fire now works perfectly again. I am very impressed with the very efficient and friendly service that was totally stress free 🙂 . It is very refreshing to be treated in a very respectful and friendly manner. I would recommend anyone to deal with Moddelo. Their product is first class and their after sales service is fantastic. Many thanks to all involved.

Just purchased a Flameko Verona 16"

Just purchased a Flameko Verona 16" fire which I'm delighted with but foolishly threw away the operating instructions with the packaging. Thought I would contact Customer Services and I expected a reply some time next week. To my delight I had an email reply within the half hour attaching the instructions for download.

Excellent Customer Service the likes of which I thought was long dead. Well done Chloe!

Fireplace broke down and Warranty not honoured

The fire completely stopped working after 18 months of only ever using the light effect aspect of the fireplace. I contacted them by wattsapp (don’t bother trying to phone as the number cuts you off before it is answered). They immediately identified the problem as a failed PCB. They wanted £30 postage, £20 labour and £30 replacement part. Despite the company offering a 2 year warranty on their website they refused to repair/replace under warranty as we had bought it via Amazon! They confirmed that “it is uncommon for a pcb to fail” within this time so they wanted it returned “for the technical team to investigate”. This suggests to me that there was therefore a fault/problem with the pcb board that shouldn’t have resulted in the fire breaking down after inly 18 months , however when I requested that they therefore honour the 2 year warranty advertised proudly on their website they refused and said that buying through Amazon for some reason makes them feel justified in only honouring Amazon’s 1 year only warranty. Does this suggest that they supply Amazon buyers with less than perfect fires, I wonder? In the end I asked them to send me a pcb board for me to replace myself at a cost of £30. It was simple to replace with a bit of support them via wattsapp, which they were very forthcoming with. I sent them a picture of the repaired fire and they asked if I would give permission for my photo to be uploaded to their social media! I respectfully again requested that given the circumstances they might consider refunding the £30 as a gesture of goodwill however they refused, again quoting Amazon’s reduced warranty over their own. They also repeated that pcb boards can fail and did not seem concerned at all that this had happened in under 2 years. This to me makes a big statement about the quality of manufacturing, so think very carefully before investing not insignificant money in a fireplace from this company.

To clarify our warranty terms: purchases made directly from FLAMME include a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Purchases made via Amazon are covered by the 1-year warranty stated on the Amazon listing at the time of purchase. While the units supplied to Amazon and to our website are picked from the same stock, the warranty period is determined by the sales channel and its advertised terms.

Your fireplace was approximately 18 months old at the time of the PCB failure, which placed it outside of the 1-year Amazon warranty period. As a result, we offered two support options:
• A return-to-base service (£80 total) covering collection, labour and parts
• A replacement PCB supplied at £30, along with step-by-step technical support to assist with installation

You chose the replacement PCB option, and we’re pleased this resolved the issue quickly.

It’s worth noting that PCB failures within this timeframe are uncommon. When they do occur, they are typically linked to factors such as heat cycling, environmental conditions, electrical fluctuations, or component stress over time — not necessarily a manufacturing defect. This is why we offered the option to return the unit for inspection.

Importantly, the replacement PCB supplied is covered by its own 2-year warranty from the date of supply, providing continued protection moving forward.

While we understand the request for a refund of the £30, we are unable to retrospectively apply the 2-year direct-purchase warranty to an Amazon order that was outside of its 1-year coverage period. We believe the options and support provided were fair, proportionate, and resolved the issue efficiently.

Moddelo fireplace

I bought a Moddelo fireplace in August 2024. The on/off was always temperamental until eventually when I went to switch it on in Nov 2025, it just wouldn't. This became an issue as I ony have one radiator downstairs alongside this, and left me cold when the temperature dropped. Plugging in a fan heater repeatedly blew my electrics. I sent the item back vis UPS (who would never provide an accurate window of collection or drop off) and was told (only when I chased) a few days later that it had been fixed, and was being sent back. No details about what the issue was.
Finally received the fireplace back after UPS attempted to repeatedly deliver when I was not home, and it's impossible to again get any accurate window of timing. For example, it's xmas eve today, and they were supposed to drop it 'end of day' (vague) - and delivered it at 10.08am. Luckily this time, I was in, but I had planned my day around waiting at home for 'end of day'
Anyway, of course, dear reader, you know what happened next. It still doesn't work. Christmas will be a cold one this year. Please don't bother using this cowboy outfit. Save yourself a world of trouble, and buy another brand.

We apologise that this issue was not correctly serviced when this was brought in, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
This member of staff that reviewed your appliance is no longer with the company.
As this was an issue regarding the previous service raised on the 24th December we couldn’t bring this back in for a service any earlier as our offices were closed util the 5th January.
Since discovering that this had not been rectified on the first service attempt, one of our team members volunteered to work through their Christmas break, calling you on Christmas eve and followed up on Christmas day to get this sorted for you.
Following our findings of a loose connection on the remote control receiver, this has been serviced ,checked and sent to you with next day delivery.

I needed a part for a fire

I needed a part for a fire. A printed circuit board. Called these guys they went above and beyond to help me. The technical guy assisted me in diagnosing the circuit board.
No problem they located me a part and I collected within the hour. Thank you for you're help my fire is back up and running and looks awesome

The best electric fires

I absolutely love our Castello wall mounted fireplace! We never have to have the heating on downstairs anymore as it gives out so much heat. Super quiet too - we rarely notice that it’s on. A top quality product and top quality customer service to go with it.

The worst service I have ever received

The worst service I have ever received, never even delivered my fireplace, never got a refund or a replacement, customer service is very very bad, I was treated awfully, please avoid using this company at all costs! I have had to take this further now, all I wanted was what I had paid for. Really upsetting, please avoid

Just an update as you have replied, I'm also confused with your response as it states that your name is will, and you are person that I've been speaking to via email, your response to this review is nothing like the response to my emails, you know that I didn't sign for delivery, yet you are still refusing refund or replacement, then you have come back to me on here like you are actually trying to help, like I said please avoid at all costs

In any case an item is undelivered, and the tracking information shows it is undelivered, or delivered to somewhere that is clearly not your address, you will be refunded.
All of our shipments are sent from a UK warehouse, with either UPS or Furdeco (at time of writing) both of which are signature required and full tracking information is always made available at the time of dispatch. We hope to hear from you soon!
*In response to your update, as stated above where delivery is clearly not attempted or delivered to an incorrect address, a refund will be issued, in this case the appliance is shown to be delivered and signed for at the property, where the address, name and GPS on delivery match the details on the order, the name provided to the driver when asked who was signing for the package also matches that on the order details, if you have further details please feel free to contact us on the above email.

After being let down by another…

After being let down by another company, and after paying for the fire and not being updated on its delivery change I came across Stoke Flame. On the of chance of having the fire stocked, one phone call speaking with Tim he went above and beyond. The fire was the last one in stock and Tim held this until I had driven from Chester to collect it.
Fantastic service to which I would reckoned this company to anyone who asks about a fire. In store experience from all staff members (one I forgot) helped me load the fire into the car and it is now in its prime location looking fantastic in a new extension we have recently had done.

Don’t look anywhere else this company known how to look after customers!! Something which is a dying art! Thanks again Stoke Flame!!

Moddelo were absolutely brilliant.

Moddelo were fantastic to deal with. I had a slight problem with my first electric fire which I had to return. I contacted Holly in Customer Services who was extremely helpful. I subsequently visited the factory and the owner Will personally ensured that my replacement worked perfectly and even carried it to my car. I cannot praise this company enough. Great product at a brilliant price with fantastic Customer Service. I highly recommend Moddelo.

Thankyou for your review, It would be helpful to see which appliance you have so we can check if there are any defects. The flame effect on the fireplaces are silent, the fireplace heaters are fan assisted when the heat is enabled, meaning you will hear the noise of the air moving through the heater. The noise level when the heater is enabled is no louder than 40dB from 1 meter away from the appliance. Flamme Castello fire box

We were looking at the small fire box castello platinum 33”
Online, unseen, so it was a bit of a gamble as we didn’t know a huge amount about them. After a couple of questions to customer support which were promptly answered we decided to order one to replace our old electric traditional fire, I had to change the shape of the opening get it re plastered etc but the results are amazing. Very modern looking and very cozy with the very “real” looking effects. It was actually very easy to fit and we’re extremely happy with it. Definitely recommended by us.

We’d been looking for an electric fire…

We’d been looking for an electric fire for quite some time and had had some eye watering costs. Luckily a friend of our had recently bought a fire from Flamme and recommended them. We were visiting our daughter in Stafford and found their showroom/premises were near by so we paid them a visit. Although a small showroom we saw everything we needed to see and were given helpful advice. We paid them a second visit to confirm which fire would be best for us and again the advice was first class without pushy sales techniques we had found at other places. The fire was ordered costing less than half other quotes and was delivered without further charge. Fitting was simple within the media wall. After sales service has been first class. If your after an electric fire, go on their website or pay them a visit it’s well worth it.

This made my house feel like a home!

I am unbelievably impressed with our recent purchase with Modello. We brought the Castello platinum 40” version after building our media wall to this specific insert and my god am I glad that we went through with purchasing through this company. I spoke with Will, who was incredibly knowledgable and provided enough information for us to choose between two models. The electric fireplace looks incredible, finally making our house feel like a home. We love the modern aesthetic, and this completes our living space - even the cats approve. My partner had ease installing the model, it came with clear instructions which were easy to follow. It also throws out a decent amount of heat, providing a bit of warmth for the upcoming colder months, we are so pleased we were able to order before Christmas!
Delivery was unbelievably quick, we purchased on Tuesday and it was delivered on Thursday morning with no additional costs!
Honestly couldn’t recommend this company enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you thank you THANK YOU 🏠♥️
