Fly a Spitfire Reviews 

So, this week I fulfilled a lifetime ambition by flying in a Spitfire.
Flew from the iconic Biggin Hill WWII airfield and out over Beachy Head and the white cliffs. My wife flew in a chase plane alongside for a while and took some amazing videos and in-flight pics.
My pilot, ‘Smithy’ (Ian Smith) is an ex Red Arrow and commanded the BBMF for a number of years, and currently flies Typhoon Eurofighters. The ‘best of the best’!
The flight included three victory rolls over the white cliffs which was sensational! I also got to fly this beautiful machine!
This has been top of my bucket list for years and really thought I’d probably never get the chance until my wonderful wife bought it for me as a birthday present. It really is the most amazing experience. If you ever get the chance and you like old warbirds, do not hesitate….you really won’t regret it.

This is an experience that should not be missed if at all possible. The team at Biggin Hill are very accommodating and friendly and re-arranged my flight as I was able to get there earlier than anticipated. We were shown around their workshops and the collection of planes prior to the flight by a very knowledgeable gentleman who was enthusiastic and friendly. I was shown the safety videos before the flight and fitted out with a flight suit and gloves, then introduced to the pilot. A very experienced and friendly man who you knew you would be safe with. The flight was taken over the full coastal route in perfect weather and was something you will never forget. I was also allowed to take the controls of the Spitfire on a couple of occasions, which showed how sensitive they are and the slightest movement got an instant reaction. To say you’ve ‘flown a Spitfire’ is true, but seems a bit fraudulent when you consider those brave young men in the War! I would encourage anyone who can possibly do this to get it booked as soon as possible. You will be well looked after and in-flight footage from two cameras is provided so you can re-visit the experience time and again. Thanks to all at Biggin Hill and especially my pilot. It was a brilliant experience, no compromise on safety and the pilot , Jeremy and staff were fantastic. Special mention for Simon for a fascinating hangar experience, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. 10/10.

If you are interested in warbirds then this just has to be done! I was lucky that this was my 70th birthday present and the Flyaspitfire team at Biggin Hill could not have been more helpful, considerate and professional in their approach. Great day and experience..... long may the opportunity to fly in these magnificent planes last.

The best experience ever (and this week was the third time!)

An amazing experience from start to finish for my dad who opted for the White Cliffs of Dover flight .
From the first phone call to book the flight , the welcoming arrival , the flight itself and the hanger tour were all 5* . We really couldn’t fault anything at all ! Thank you to each and everyone of you involved in making the experience so amazing !

I flew with these guys on Sunday 12 June, and can say they are the friendliest bunch of people who run an excellent professional service that made me and my family delighted with the experience. Oh yes the flight, who could be anything other than ecstatic flying in a Spitfire with an ex Red Arrows and BBMF pilot. The victory roll over the Battle of Britain memorial was the poignant high light. No wonder I can’t stop smiling.

This was a trip for my husbands 60th b'day. He had an absolutely fabulous experience. All the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make it special. The actual flight was something he will never forget - we would highly recommend it.

We visited the team at Biggin Hill on Saturday where my husband flew in a spitfire for his birthday present. From the minute we arrived on site every member of the team were so incredibly friendly and helpful. They kept us updated throughout the day and advised us on various services they offered. I had two elderly spectators with us who both told me they will remember this day for the rest of their lives. As my Dad told me "no where else in the world will you see a spitfire that close and you will never tire of that sound!" The hangar was immaculate, the tour was interesting and the chaser plane experience was phenomenal. We cannot thank everyone involved enough for such a superb day.

I decided that for my 70th birthday I wanted to fly in a Spitfire. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. Every member of staff was amazing. They were all very pleasant welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The flight itself was the experience of a lifetime and the pilot made me feel completely at ease. Overall a truly amazing day.

Fantastic day doing a bucket list flight in an absolutely iconic WW2 fighter plane.
Booking & changing flight dates due to COVID restrictions & family illness was no problem, so instead of being 60 for my flight I was 62 ! From the moment of my arrival I was well looked after - safety briefings, historic hangar tour & arranging meetings with friends & relatives were all handled with care to ensure that your experience was as hoped for. Obviously this isn’t a cheap experience, but it was very clear that all safety procedures & aircraft servicing were carried out to the highest level to ensure passenger safety. Plus the cost of the flights goes towards the maintenance of these amazing aircraft so that we can enjoy them for years to come. My pilot Barry was determined that my experience was as enjoyable as possible & tailored to my individual expectations.
There is no pressure to make the flight if you’re in any way unsure of or worried by the risks involved in flying in such an old aircraft.
Nothing would have stopped me flying, but the staff at Biggin Hill ensured that my day was one of the most memorable experiences of my life so far - thanks to everyone !

Just brilliant! The team were very welcoming and really looked after all of the family throughout the visit.

The flight was a dream come true, especially with a couple of barrel rolls towards the end. It’s well worth friends and family taking the trail plane up if the budget allows, the experience is even better shared, plus film footage really completes it. I might have watched it more than once already!

Also loved the guided tour of the museum, a magnificent collection of wartime relics to end the visit. A traditional tin mug of ‘Mess’ tea would have been a lovely extra to the day, plus I would have bought one if in the gift shop! Nice touch of the gift pack of Spitfire mementos as we left. Awesome!!.... Childhood ambition realised on my 60th birthday. The Hanger Museum tour, the flight itself, the entire team, and especially Amanda, Ray and Jez made the whole day an amazing and unforgettable experience. I was genuinely moved and emotional for the flight experience!

That was one of the greatest flying experience I have ever had.
The only flying experience that was ever better, was on the day when flew solo.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Purchased as a surprise birthday gift for hubby who has wanted to fly in a spitfire all his life. All staff were friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Thoroughly reccomend.

Fabulous place to visit and see the craftsmanship that goes into restoring WW2 aircraft. If you are thinking of booking a flight, stop hesitating and just do it for the experience of a lifetime! Book the Airvan as well for amazing air to air photo opportunities; real close in formation flying - fantastic. Really skilled pilots, very helpful knowledgeable team and thoroughly recommended.

A fantastic experience for a Spitfire fan, the children loved going up in the Airvan to see their dad flying the spitfire too!
