Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the service, finding the staff rude and unprofessional. They also frequently complained about the pricing structure, noting that initial low fares often escalated significantly due to numerous additional fees for bags and other services, making the overall cost higher than expected. The customer service was consistently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and often outsourced, leading to unresolved issues and frustration. The booking process also caused problems, with many experiencing unexpected cancellations and difficulties with rebooking or obtaining boarding passes. However, some people were satisfied with the actual flights, describing them as smooth and on time, with helpful and pleasant cabin crew. A few customers also appreciated the initial low prices, especially for short flights, and found the GoWild Pass beneficial.

Honestly, this is a disaster and feels like a SCAM!

Begin with: When you book with Frontier online, you are bombarded with offers throughout the entire booking process. You select the Basic Fare, and in the very next window they still try to push an Economy Bundle on you. Fine, I clicked “No.”

Next window: “Save $21 by joining a discount travel club for a $99 annual fee.” Again, “No,” and move on.

Then come all the add-ons: seat selection, priority boarding, extra baggage and at the airport everything is strictly checked, and if your bag is even slightly oversized, you get penalized on the spot. During the booking process, additional pop-ups from Expedia and others appear as well.

It’s an absolute mess luring customers in with cheap fares while constantly trying to upsell and push more charges at every single step. These tactics are almost unbelievable.

But now it gets really scary:
On my flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on January 26, 2026 at 3:35 PM (Flight 1184), there was basically a full-on sales show on board for the FRONTIER credit card.
On a one-hour flight, about 20 minutes were spent promoting how “amazing” this credit card is. The pitch: sign up now and get lifetime free baggage, no annual fee for the first year, priority check-in, and 50,000 miles instantly credited if you spend just $1 supposedly enough for up to 10 domestic flights or 2 international flights.
The result? I was stupid enough to trust the flight attendant.
I applied for the card, got a credit limit of $21,600, and instead of spending just $1, I made a small purchase of $8.77 at a fast food place to trigger the bonus miles.

The result:
No miles were credited but I was charged a $99 annual fee.
After submitting a written complaint, I was told to call customer service. I did and was told it could take up to 10 days. After waiting, I followed up again and was then told it could now take up to 30 days.

Final outcome: I canceled the card. Frontier even thanked me for being satisfied with their “fast cancellation service.”
Unbelievable.
Everyone can now decide for themselves how seriously this company treats its own customers.
For me, the conclusion is clear:
FRONTIER No thanks.

What went wrong…where do I even begin

What went wrong…where do I even begin. Frontier is no doubt the worst airline in the world. The workers were straight up terrible and incompetent. My flight ended up getting cancelled after 7 hours in the airport with no real info from any frontier workers. If I could give a 0 star rating I would.

She couldn’t even tell her where she could go to try to find another flight with another airlines. She had to ask the security guard there because it was late.

Never fly Frontier

Never fly Frontier. Worst airline experience ever. I fly 30+ times per year.
This is the worst airline Ive ever dealt with. Horrible customer service. Exchange and cancelation policies are ridiculous. Their planes suck too.
Id rather take a bus or ride a bike than use them.

TRASH AIRLINE!

I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER fly this trash airline again! They are the worst of the worst! The seats are uncomfortable. There's ZERO leg room. The agents are incompetent. Overall, it was a horrible experience. I flew from Philly to Orlando. Same luggage, same amount of items. I paid for a checked bag and paid $75 for it. On the way back from Orlando to Philly, I paid another $75 for the same bag to be checked. The clerk said my bag was THREE pounds overweight and the charge would be an extra $100 (more than what I originally paid for the checked bag in the first place). I offered to open the bag and remove a shirt or two so it could weigh exactly 40 pounds (EVEN THOUGH EVERY OTHER AIRLINE ALLOWS 50 POUNDS FOR CHECKED LUGGAGE)!! Their airline was so short staffed and the line was wrapped throughout the airport, that she was being extremely impatient and rushing me to pay the fee. She said I could dispute it by calling customer service. I was so fed up at that point that I paid the extra $100 with the intent of disputing the charge and being reimbursed. I called Frontier a zillion times and it kept saying you have to reach customer service via the online chat. Well the online chat is an AI bot who kept stating it couldn't handle this type of situation. I kept calling and calling until finally, it placed me on hold for a live agent. I sat on the phone for one hour and twenty minutes until someone in another country finally answered and stated he would not reimburse the fee even if it was one pound overweight. I then asked for a supervisor, and he disconnected the call. Also, once we boarded the plane, we sat for an extra 45 minutes because the airline over-fueled the aircraft causing it to be 5,000 overweight! But you're worried about my little three pounds that I offered to place into my carry-on (either way the same weight would be on the same plane). I am LIVID! The cheaper prices are not worth the hassle. You end up paying the extra money anyway with seat selection, baggage fees, they don't even give you a complimentary beverage and snack! They make you pay for it! Horrible airline!!!!!! Just pay the extra money and fly Delta, American, or Southwest! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Dont Buy Any Extra Features : DISHONORABLE Company

This will be the last year I use Frontier, for what I paid I definitely could flown with a better airline. Even when you buy extra features, this airline finds a way to cheat you. I bought the delay protection, the morning flight was missed and rebooked and i was charged an additional $28. You know what was not included, the protection. Nor was it an option during the rebooking (I spoke with a live agent) The night flight is more than 2hrs DELAYED. This company is highly un-recommended. Whatever the cost pay it somewhere else, Im extremely disappointed and DISCUSSED.

Never again

Never again! I booked an economy flight for my son's college graduation. A month after booking they cancelled my flight. They gave me an option to get a refund in aproximately a month or get a credit to rebook, 20.00 less than the amount of the original ticket. I chose credit so that I could get a new ticket asap.

Immediately upon trying to use the credit it said my information didn't match the original ticket. It matched exactly. I tried several times but it kept giving an error and said I needed to call. I called and the agent said that the only flight available was one with a day long layover in Denver. There were many others listed on the website but that's all they would offer. Then to book that flight she wanted to charge me 50% more than the cost of the ticket because there's a 40 or 50 dollar fee for booking with an agent even though their website gave me an error. That flight would also not include any baggage including a carry on. They nickel and dime for everything like they got their business model from EA Games. I asked her to just refund my money and she said that is not an option anymore. I fought it until she got manager approval. These are incredibly shady business tactics.

How frontier apparently operates: Cancel the flight after the tickets have gone up substantially in price, give broken partial credit, charge to talk to an agent when the website won't work, only offer a single terrible option while pretending the others don't exist, refuse to refund without a fight, overly delayed refund...

Thanks Frontier. Now I won't make my son's college graduation. What a garbage company.

If I could give this airline a 0, I would

If I could give this airline a 0 I would. They are inconsiderate and everyone seems to have an attitude. The app is extremely difficult and unclear on how it works in addition they over charge for carryone bags.. $69 for one small carryone is outragous.. They charge $4.97 for soda or coffee you are lucky to get a half of glass of water..

The problems began the morning of our flight that was set to leave at 6:00 am. There was no one to ask at the counter about our carry-on bag when we had more than enough time to get to the gate. We wind up changing out flight lucky with no extra charge. We took a late flight.. at TSA it was so much commotion going through the scans that my ID got misplaced. We then boarded and to our surprise arrive 30 minutes ahead of time .. which was the only positive thing about flying.

On Friday evening we had another late flight that was set to leave around 10:30 pm and then there was a big storm which I heard from Delta planes at the gate that we need for Frontier but they never left b/c of the inspection then our flight got cancelled. No one knew to tell us anything.. we walked around and asked so many people when finally we were told we had to go to the booking gate the the line wrapped around and around. We still never got straight answers - how to book or how to get a refund and we got stranded. Lucky my smart son said lets just drive.. I was opposed to driving back 10 hours but waiting around in the airport, booking a hotel and such would have taken longer. Frontier did not offer one drop of anything, food voucher, hotel stay or anything. I will not ever fly on this airline again!

I recently took a flight to Arizona and on the way back my bag was fine until I got to Las Vegas then it was too big? It fit under my seat perfectly but they still charged me $99 dollars for it! My personal bag cost me more than my flight! I called to complain and they said there was nothing they could do about charge? I went on website and asked for refund they asked me for more info and I gave it to them. It’s been over a week and still no response! Really bad customer service too! This airline rips you off by overcharging you for bags! I will not fly with them again!

Frontier Airlines is very…

Frontier Airlines is very unprofessional and caused a great amount of inconvenience. I was not made aware of a 17 hour lay over . My trip was from Detroit to Kansas City Missouri So why I had to come to Denver Airport is what I’m confused about . Then after I’ve waited for this freaking 17 hour layover that I was not made aware of. My fight proceeds to be freaking delayed for another hour. During my time at the Denver airport and dealing with the frontier representatives on site have been very unprofessional, rude , lazy , and just have been given the run around and I don’t appreciate the un professionalism and treatment I’ve received. And I Will not be flying using Frontier again.

Very bad airline.Bad experience

Very bad airline.Bad experience, a few times was missing from my luggage and when I called to report it no one helped, in meantime I found a paper from Homeland Security telling me they checked my luggage and they have the right to open it even if I have a locker they have the right to break it and check my luggage. This is not acceptable because you already check my luggage with the electronic tracking system at the airport even if you have the right to check it you are not allowed to take my belongs , I write this review to tell everyone be careful from this airline

Frontier Airlines or Frontier Scammers

Frontier Airlines is absolutely the worst airlines there is. Calling them scammers would be more accurate than calling them an airline. I had a flight at 10pm, as soon as I get done with check in and pass security I get a notification saying my flight has been delayed until 1am... I call customer service, they basically give me a word salad to say they can't switch my flight or do anything at all other than give me a $75 flight voucher which i have 90 days to use (I'm never flying with them again so I won't) and a $15 food voucher which first of all is not enough for anything in a restaurant and worst of all they make it crazy hard to claim. They also take every opportunity to force you to check in bags that are small for $70 and will even charge you another $45 if you check in in person. Never fly with these scammers.

The base fare is a lie and they know it

Booked what looked like a fantastic deal at sixty three dollars and by the time I finished checking out with a carry on, a seat selection, and the option to actually print my boarding pass I was at one hundred and forty dollars. That's not a budget airline anymore, that's just a regular airline that makes you feel tricked. I understand the unbundled pricing model exists but Frontier takes it to a level that feels genuinely deceptive.

I had to book a last-minute flight

I had to book a last-minute flight, which was canceled due to the weather. This happened while I was at the airport. The team members, who were supposed to be working the counters, were actively avoiding passengers and had to be flagged down by a part of the flight crew waiting for the same flight.

When my flight was canceled, I called the customer service team to ask about a refund, but since I didn't "cancel my reservation within 24 hours," they would only offer me credits. I had just booked my flight that day. I got yelled at by 2 different support team members. This airline is an actual crime, stealing unsuspecting people's money.

Never book with them if you can avoid it!
