Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the products to be of poor quality, citing issues with flimsiness, excessive noise, and parts breaking down quickly. Customers frequently reported that mowers did not cut grass effectively, blew debris everywhere, or stopped working after minimal use. There were also complaints about product design, such as short power cables, tiny grass collectors, and difficult assembly or adjustment processes. Some people were dissatisfied with the company's handling of warranty claims, finding it difficult to get replacements for faulty products. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with certain products, praising their effectiveness in specific tasks like blowing wet leaves and their overall value.

I have a Flymo Easi-store

I have a Flymo Easi-store, had it for 5-6 years and have to say the batteries are shocking. They are made by husqvarna so I thought they would be fit for purpose, but this isn’t the case.
I have got through 4-5 batteries over this period, bad luck ? Maybe … I have made sure they fully charged after use and stored correctly in the right conditions, checked them regularly over the winter months, in fact tried everything to ensure I don’t have to keep forking out for new ones (they aren’t cheap although the price has gradually come down from close to £100 to £70ish at present) but to no avail.
I will be selling them once I have researched an alternative with better and more economically priced batteries.
Just be aware buying a ‘brand’ doesn’t mean they are good 🙁

Waste of money

Bought a flymo hover as I thought it may be easier as I am aging. I got it out for the first time and yes it moves over the ground easily, thats as good as it gets it hardly cuts the grass and what it does cut it blows all over the place and picks up very little, this leaves me with a brush sweeping up paths and patio. I have tried 2 spacers as supplied all the way up to 4 no better. It is a waste of money and I think I am going to have to invest in another (not flymo) mower in order to cut the grass.

Flymo lawnmowers are very poor products.

Two years in a row I've had to buy a new Flymo Easiglide 300 because they don't winter well in my garden shed and the motor fails within 5 minutes of reuse in spring. Very poor product - I will never buy Flymo again. They are living now off their former good name. Cheap rubbish.

Flymo Support - Clearly Customer 1st!

I have purchased three Flymo items in the last 20 yrs. A Flymo hover lawn mower which worked well for 18yrs, a Flymo garden vac, which I'm still using, and a 18months ago replacement Flymo hover mower. I have always looked after them and cleaned them after use - which I think is essential. Unfortunately the mover that I bought recently suddenly stopped working, and although it had a 2yrs warrany the shop (Homebase) where I bought it had gone out of business. As a consequence I wasn't very confident about getting any help from Flymo, but I had kept both the receipt and the Flymo instruction leaflet. I used the contact telephone number provided, and was transferred to a customer service in Germany. Following the exchange of reasonable information, fault symptoms, my receipt and the product label stuck to the machine, I was told that they would deal with the matter. Five days later I was told that they would provide a replacement within 10 - 14 days. Today, 6 days later, I had my brand new Flymo Hover Mower delivered to my door. From the outset, the people I spoke to on the telephone at Flymo Customer Service just couldn't have been more helpful and just 'nice'. To my mind you can't get better than that! Reflecting back over my purchases, I have been extremely pleased with what I've purchased, though obviously unlucky with the last one. But having said that, in my view the customer service support was exceptional. Thank you Flymo!!

Flymo 360.... Ping Jane Julian

I purchased a Flymo 360 in September 2024 and upon using it found the belt to be slipping. Flymo gave me an authorisation code for Homebase to replace it. I've had one years usage from it and it appears that the motor has burnt out. After several messages including some assistance from Customer Services in the form of the original authorisation code and a reference number to their internal documentation, they have agreed to replace the second unit. JJ keep pushing them and using Customer Services to support you.

DONT buy a Flymo

Had to replace my Flymo EasyGlide 360 in 2024 while still under warranty. Flymo made this very difficult despite immediately registering the product. Eventually they agreed to replace when I produced proof of purchase. The new replacement EasyGlide 360 which is less than 2 years old has now smoked & stopped working & Flymo refuse to replace it as they go with the date of purchase of the original mower.
SO Flymo mowers last less than 2 years!!!!
DISGRACEFUL waste of money.
Cheap nasty product despite all the reviews stating it’s the best hover mower. It’s most certainly not.

Tried to register warranty via telephone using the instructions on their pamphlet supplied with the item. But the registration line cuts off not available.
So tried registering warranty via the alternative email address for registration as supplied via the pamphlet, waited but no reply!. *Still Waiting!.
Item is an Electric Flymo Hedge Strimmer. Model is Esicut 500 . 9705463-01

Well I havejust purchased this item to…

Well I have just purchased this item to replace a 9 year old previous version of the same. Upon assembly and test it failed to run. Disassembled and rebuilt, failed to run. Hmmm not an auspicious start. Tried for third time lucky it worked then stopped, at this point I should have packed it up and sent it back, but the engineer in me forced me to investigate. Unlike the previous model, one has to attach the impellor protection grill by means of rotating anf locking into place with a retained sprung thumb screw. The problem here is that there is a lug on said grill that is supposed to locate into a tiny slot that houses a micro switch. This is to stop the unit being powered up without said grill ( or vac bag as that to has similar lug to actuate micro switch) , I could see that the lug was fouling on the moulding therefore preventing it to slot in . A slight bend and in it went and the tool powered up. This is a less than ideal arrangement. I am all for safety but any device fitted to improve safety has to be fit for purpose. On first real use, I noticed how flimsy the plastic handle is, due to the reduced thickness and/or properties of the moulded part. The previous Orange Flymo (now red ) was more substantial, yes it added to the weight but frankly a little more weight and 9 years use seemed a small trade off. This will not last 9 years and probably won't make it through the 2 year warranty

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Flymo PowerVac 2700

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Flymo PowerVac 2700 — Surprisingly Powerful for £79”

After weeks comparing petrol, cordless and corded blowers (with help from ChatGPT to separate hype from reality), I took a chance on this Flymo PowerVac 2700. It’s made by the Husqvarna group, so expectations were high — and it didn’t disappoint.

I tested it in heavy rain on soaked oak leaves, acorns and a muddy path. In 30 minutes it cleared a 20 m run plus my porch, bay window, and borders — all looked freshly washed.
The airspeed (310 km/h) feels real, and although the impeller is hard composite plastic, it chewed through the wet debris without clogging. It’s light, quiet, and keeps going as long as you’ve got power — no charging, no petrol, no fuss.

For £79 this is the best value garden tool I’ve bought in years. A cordless simply couldn’t have done what this managed today. Highly recommended.

Flymo Easi Glide 330v - Awful awful awful

I purchased a Flymo Easi Glide 330v , after having an older model Flymo Easi glide for years , until the motor went .
The new model is very , noisy , flimsy , vibrates when cutting . Does not cut the grass properly , trying to get the handles to fold down is near on impossible . I have to wedge a piece of wood in one side to keep it down . You cannot do them both together , they don’t budge .
It’s too light the machine , spews grass everywhere.
Trying to get the bolt off to put the spacers in under the blade , took me ages . As the bolt was stuck fast . Quite easy to assemble from being in bits in the box .
Not happy at all with this Flymo .
Come on Flymo , listen to your customers , this
Lawnmower is overpriced and badly made . I do not recommend.

Shame on you Flymo

Flymo cordless garden strimmer and hedge trimmer … whatever you do, DO NOT buy these products as the batteries do not last more than a year on them and they are expensive to replace especially as they will fail again in the 12 month period even if you keep the batteries topped up over the winter period. It is disgraceful that Flymo are treating their customers this way as there are plenty of reviews out there stating the same thing. Shame on you Flymo!

Bought this lawnmower as I moved to a new house and was starting from scratch so didn’t have a lot of money to spend on it. 3 months down the line the handle has fallen off the bolt that holds the handle on on both sides came off. It’s not a great lawnmower full stop. It is supposed to leave a stripe line when cutting it doesn’t, it is a very flimsy machine and even after adjusting the height it doesn’t really cut the grass that well. I am very disappointed with this machine. I have contacted flymo and after having sent photos they are going to send replacement in 10-11 days and I have to dispose of the machine myself. Would not recommend this mower.

Complete rubbish

Just unpacked a brand new Easistore 300R. Took ages to fit all the springs and handles. Plugged it in. Nothing. Tried two different sockets. Changed the fuse. Still nothing. Cheap flimsy non functioning rubbish. I already have an old hover Flymo so I know how the switch works, so it's not me. Much thinner plastic than the old Flymo, it's just not as well made. Just bought it today, will take it back to the store tomorrow morning.

I bought an 18V cordless Flymo EasiBlow Garden Vac recently. The bag zip failed the first time I started it up and debris blew everywhere. The zip is manufactured poorly. I claimed on warranty and Flymo was useless, responding slowly and claiming that they could not find a replacement bag (for an item they are actively selling). Be very careful if choosing this model.

Nice compact mower for size of garden but persistent cutting out as though a sensor stops it from working, changes it 3 times for replacement, all the same - utter useless.

Purchased the flymo hoover vac

Purchased the flymo hoover vac. It is the worse lawnmower I have ever had. It sends grass cuttings everywhere. I have to pick the cuttings up from the boarders as it seems to re seed it self. The patio is full of it. I'm going to have to get a new one. It won't be flymo

Terrible Flymo UK customer support

I've been trying to get through to Flymo's UK product info phone number 0344 844 4558. I was subject to incessant piano music for over 20 minutes, having to assume I was in a queue, as there was nothing or noone to tell me I was. After 23 minutes an English female voice asked me how she could help, I told her which model I was calling about and without giving me a chance to reply to whatever she said (which I didn't have time to understand), all of a sudden I was back listening to the very annoying piano music. I assume she was just filtering calls but then on 26 minutes I was cut off while patiently waiting for someone else to answer me. Very poor service, and shows a complete lack of respect for Flymo clients. As a result, I will definitely avoid this brand in future and in the meantime I'm stuck with a strimmer which I can't use.

Recently bought an Easiglide Plus 360v to replace a very old Flymo, that had functioned well throughout its life .
My initial feedback - this new mower is INCREDIBLY NOISY. So much so that I have tested it with a meter and near the blade it reads very nearly 100Db .
Husqvarna have not responded to me raising this - but that seems par for the course , if you analyse across all reviews .
I’m considering rejecting the mower , but am currently wearing ear-defenders ( shouldn’t be necessary , and is not good for my community / neighbours) .
Apart from that , is flimsier that previous product , but seems to cut and collect OK .
Not sure what alternative / reliable hovermowers there are ?
